1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] God whom I praise, do not be silent!	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.Dio della mia lode, non tacere,
2 Wicked and deceiving words are being said about me, false accusations are cast in my teeth.	2 perché contro di me si sono apertela bocca malvagia e la bocca ingannatrice,e mi parlano con lingua bugiarda.
3 Words of hate fly al around me, though I give no cause for hostility.	3 Parole di odio mi circondano,mi aggrediscono senza motivo.
4 In return for my friendship they denounce me, and al I can do is pray!	4 In cambio del mio amore mi muovono accuse,io invece sono in preghiera.
5 They repay my kindness with evil, and friendship with hatred.	5 Mi rendono male per benee odio in cambio del mio amore.
6 'Set up a wicked man against him as accuser to stand on his right.	6 Suscita un malvagio contro di luie un accusatore stia alla sua destra!
7 At his trial may he emerge as guilty, even his prayer construed as a crime!	7 Citato in giudizio, ne esca colpevolee la sua preghiera si trasformi in peccato.
8 'May his life be cut short, someone else take over his office,	8 Pochi siano i suoi giornie il suo posto l’occupi un altro.
9 his children be orphaned, his wife be widowed.	9 I suoi figli rimangano orfanie vedova sua moglie.
10 'May his children wander perpetual y, beggars, driven from the ruins of their house,	10 Vadano raminghi i suoi figli, mendicando,rovistino fra le loro rovine.
11 a creditor seize al his goods, and strangers make off with his earnings.	11 L’usuraio divori tutti i suoi averie gli estranei saccheggino il frutto delle sue fatiche.
12 'May there be none left faithful enough to show him love, no one take pity on his orphans,	12 Nessuno gli dimostri clemenza,nessuno abbia pietà dei suoi orfani.
13 the line of his descendants cut off, his name wiped out in one generation.	13 La sua discendenza sia votata allo sterminio,nella generazione che segue sia cancellato il suo nome.
14 'May Yahweh never forget the crimes of his ancestors, and his mother's sins not be wiped out;	14 La colpa dei suoi padri sia ricordata al Signore,il peccato di sua madre non sia mai cancellato:
15 may Yahweh keep these constantly in mind, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.'	15 siano sempre davanti al Signoreed egli elimini dalla terra il loro ricordo.
16 He had no thought of being loyal, but hounded the poor and the needy and the broken-hearted totheir death.	16 Perché non si è ricordato di usare clemenzae ha perseguitato un uomo povero e misero,con il cuore affranto, per farlo morire.
17 He had a taste for cursing; let it recoil on him! No taste for blessing; let it never come his way!	17 Ha amato la maledizione: ricada su di lui!Non ha voluto la benedizione: da lui si allontani!
18 Cursing has been the uniform he wore; let it soak into him like water, like oil right into his bones.	18 Si è avvolto di maledizione come di una veste:è penetrata come acqua nel suo intimoe come olio nelle sue ossa.
19 Let it be as a robe which envelops him completely, a sash which he always wears.	19 Sia per lui come vestito che lo avvolge,come cintura che sempre lo cinge.
20 Let this be the salary Yahweh pays the accusers who blacken my name.	20 Sia questa da parte del Signorela ricompensa per chi mi accusa,per chi parla male contro la mia vita.
21 Yahweh, treat them as your name demands; as your faithful love is generous, deliver me.	21 Ma tu, Signore Dio,trattami come si addice al tuo nome:liberami, perché buona è la tua grazia.
22 Poor and needy as I am, my wounds go right to the heart;	22 Io sono povero e misero,dentro di me il mio cuore è ferito.
23 I am passing away like a fading shadow, they have shaken me off like a locust.	23 Come ombra che declina me ne vado,scacciato via come una locusta.
24 My knees are weak from lack of food, my body lean for lack of fat.	24 Le mie ginocchia vacillano per il digiuno,scarno è il mio corpo e dimagrito.
25 I have become the butt of their taunts, they shake their heads at the sight of me.	25 Sono diventato per loro oggetto di scherno:quando mi vedono, scuotono il capo.
26 Help me, Yahweh my God, save me as your faithful love demands.	26 Aiutami, Signore mio Dio,salvami per il tuo amore.
27 Let them know that yours is the saving hand, that this, Yahweh, is your work.	27 Sappiano che qui c’è la tua mano:sei tu, Signore, che hai fatto questo.
28 Let them curse, provided that you bless; let their attacks bring shame to them and joy to yourservant!	28 Essi maledicano pure, ma tu benedici!Insorgano, ma siano svergognatie il tuo servo sia nella gioia.
29 Let my accusers be clothed in disgrace, enveloped in a cloak of shame.	29 Si coprano d’infamia i miei accusatori,siano avvolti di vergogna come di un mantello.
30 With generous thanks to Yahweh on my lips, I shall praise him before all the people,	30 A piena voce ringrazierò il Signore,in mezzo alla folla canterò la sua lode,
31 for he stands at the side of the poor, to save their lives from those who sit in judgement on them.	31 perché si è messo alla destra del miseroper salvarlo da quelli che lo condannano.
