1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Yahvé s’adressa à Moïse et lui dit:
2 'Tel the Israelites to set aside a contribution for me; you wil accept a contribution from everyonewhose heart prompts him to give it.	2 “Tu demanderas aux Israélites de verser une contribution pour moi, et tu recevras toutes leurs offrandes volontaires.
3 And this is what you wil accept from them: gold, silver and bronze;	3 Voici les produits que tu accepteras en contribution: l’or, l’argent et le cuivre,
4 materials dyed violet-purple, red-purple and crimson, fine linen, goats' hair;	4 la pourpre violette et la pourpre rouge, la teinture rouge, le lin fin, les poils de chèvres,
5 rams' skins dyed red, fine leather, acacia wood;	5 les peaux de béliers teintes en rouge, la peau de poisson et le bois d’acacia,
6 oil for the light, spices for the anointing oil and fragrant incense;	6 l’huile pour la lumière, le parfum pour l’huile et pour l’encens,
7 cornelian and other stones to be set in the ephod and breastplate.	7 les pierres d’onyx et les pierres précieuses pour l’éphod et pour le pectoral.
8 Make me a sanctuary so that I can reside among them.	8 Car ils vont me faire un sanctuaire, pour que j’habite au milieu d’eux.
9 You will make it al according to the design for the Dwel ing and the design for its furnishings which Ishall now show you.	9 Ce sanctuaire, et tous les objets qui y seront, vous les ferez selon les plans que je te ferai voir.
10 'You must make me an ark of acacia wood, two and a half cubits long, one and a half cubits wide andone and a half cubits high.	10 Ils feront donc une Arche en bois d’acacia, sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie, sa largeur d’une coudée et demie et sa hauteur d’une coudée et demie.
11 You wil overlay it, inside and out, with pure gold and make a gold moulding al round it.	11 Tu la recouvriras d’or fin, à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur, et tu feras tout autour une bordure en or.
12 You wil cast four gold rings for it and fix them to its four supports: two rings on one side and tworings on the other.	12 Tu fondras quatre anneaux d’or et tu les placeras sur les quatre pieds: deux anneaux d’un côté, deux anneaux de l’autre côté.
13 You wil also make shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold	13 Tu feras des barres en bois d’acacia, et tu les recouvriras d’or.
14 and pass the shafts through the rings on the sides of the ark, by which to carry it.	14 Pour porter l’arche, tu passeras les barres dans les anneaux qui sont sur les côtés de l’Arche.
15 The shafts wil stay in the rings of the ark and not be withdrawn.	15 Les barres resteront dans les anneaux de l’Arche, on ne les retirera pas.
16 Inside the ark you wil put the Testimony which I am about to give you.	16 Tu placeras dans l’Arche le Témoignage que je te donnerai.
17 'You wil also make a mercy-seat of pure gold, two and a half cubits long and one and a half cubitswide,	17 Le couvercle sera en or fin, sa longueur sera de deux coudées et demie et sa largeur d’une coudée et demie, ce sera l’Instrument de l’Expiation.
18 and you wil model two great winged creatures of beaten gold, you wil make them at the two ends ofthe mercy-seat.	18 Tu feras ensuite deux chérubins d’or. Tu les feras en or massif et tu les placeras aux extrémités du couvercle.
19 Model one of the winged creatures at one end and the other winged creature at the other end; youwil model the winged creatures of a piece with the mercy-seat at either end.	19 Il y aura un chérubin à une extrémité, un chérubin à l’autre extrémité. Les chérubins ressortiront sur le couvercle aux deux bouts.
20 The winged creatures must have their wings spread upwards, protecting the mercy-seat with theirwings and facing each other, their faces being towards the mercy-seat.	20 Les chérubins étendront les deux ailes vers le haut, et ces ailes protégeront l’Instrument de l’Expiation. Leurs faces seront tournées l’une vers l’autre, et les faces des chérubins regarderont vers l’Instrument de l’Expiation.
21 You wil put the mercy-seat on the top of the ark, and inside the ark you will put the Testimony which Iam about to give you.	21 Tu placeras l’Instrument de l’Expiation sur l’Arche, et tu placeras dans l’Arche le Témoignage que je te donnerai.
22 There I shall come to meet you; from above the mercy-seat, from between the two winged creatureswhich are on the ark of the Testimony, I shall give you al my orders for the Israelites.	22 C’est là que je viendrai à ta rencontre: je te parlerai de dessus l’Instrument du Pardon, entre les deux chérubins posés sur l’Arche du Témoignage, afin de te donner mes ordres pour les Israélites.
23 'You must also make a table of acacia wood, two cubits long, one cubit wide and one and a halfcubits high.	23 Tu feras une table en bois d’acacia. Sa longueur sera de deux coudées, sa largeur d’une coudée, sa hauteur d’une coudée et demie.
24 You wil overlay it with pure gold, and make a gold moulding al round it.	24 Tu la recouvriras d’or fin et tu feras une bordure en or, tout autour.
25 You wil fit it with struts of a hand's breadth and make a gold moulding round the struts.	25 Tu lui feras un encadrement de la largeur d’une main, et tu feras une bordure en or pour l’encadrement.
26 You wil make four gold rings for it and fix the four rings at the four corners where the four legs are.	26 Tu feras quatre anneaux d’or que tu placeras aux quatre coins, à la hauteur des quatre pieds;
27 The rings must lie close to the struts to hold the shafts for carrying the table.	27 les anneaux d’or seront à côté de l’encadrement, on y passera les barres pour porter la table.
28 You must make the shafts of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. The table must be carried bythese.	28 Tu feras les barres en bois d’acacia et tu les recouvriras d’or: elles serviront pour porter la table.
29 You must make dishes, cups, jars and libation bowls for it; you must make these of pure gold,	29 Tu feras aussi les plats et les assiettes, les gobelets et les tasses avec lesquels on versera les offrandes liquides. Ils seront en or fin.
30 and on the table, in my presence, you wil always put the loaves of permanent offering.	30 Tu placeras sur la table devant moi, en permanence, les pains de proposition.
31 'You wil also make a lamp-stand of pure gold; the lamp-stand must be of beaten gold, base andstem. Its cups, calyxes and petals, must be of a piece with it.	31 Tu feras aussi un chandelier d’or pur. Le chandelier sera en or massif, avec sa tige et ses branches; ses coupes, ses boutons et ses fleurs ne feront qu’un avec lui.
32 Six branches must spring from its sides: three of the lamp-stand's branches from one side, three ofthe lamp-stand's branches from the other.	32 Six branches sortiront sur les côtés, trois d’un côté du chandelier, trois de l’autre.
33 The first branch must carry three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and petals;the second branch, too, must carry three cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud, andsimilarly for all six branches springing from the lamp-stand.	33 Il y aura sur une branche trois coupes en forme d’amandes, avec boutons et fleurs, et sur l’autre branche, trois coupes en forme d’amandes, avec boutons et fleurs. Ainsi, six branches sortiront du chandelier.
34 The lamp-stand itself must carry four cups shaped like almond blossoms, each with its calyx and bud:	34 Quant au chandelier, il aura quatre coupes en forme d’amandes avec boutons et fleurs:
35 one calyx under the first two branches springing from the lamp-stand, one calyx under the next pairof branches and one calyx under the last pair of branches -- thus for al six branches springing from the lamp-stand.	35 un bouton sous deux branches qui partent du chandelier, un bouton sous les deux autres branches, et un bouton sous les deux dernières branches. Ce sera pareil pour les six branches du chandelier.
36 The calyxes and the branches wil be of a piece with the lamp-stand, and the whole made from asingle piece of pure gold, beaten out.	36 Les boutons et les branches ne feront qu’un avec lui: le tout ne fera qu’une seule pièce d’or fin.
37 You wil also make seven lamps for it and mount the lamps in such a way that they light up the spacein front of it.	37 Tu feras sept lampes pour le chandelier, elles seront montées de façon à éclairer de face.
38 The snuffers and trays must be of pure gold.	38 Les ciseaux pour couper les mèches et les cendriers seront d’or fin.
39 You wil use a talent of pure gold for the lamp-stand and al its accessories;	39 On prendra 35 kilos d’or fin pour le chandelier et tous les accessoires.
40 and see that you work to the design which was shown you on the mountain.'	40 Veille donc à tout faire selon le plan qui t’a été montré sur la montagne.
