Exodus 22

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 'If a thief is caught breaking in and is struck a mortal blow, his blood may not be avenged,	1 "Se um homem furtar um boi ou um carneiro, e o matar ou vender, pagará cinco bois pelo boi, e quatro carneiros pelo carneiro.
2 but if it happens after sunrise, his blood may be avenged. He wil make ful restitution; if he has not themeans, he will be sold to pay for what he has stolen.	2 {Se o ladrão, surpreendido de noite em flagrante delito de arrombamento, for ferido de morte, não haverá homicídio;
3 If the stolen animal is found alive in his possession, be it ox, donkey or animal from the flock, he wilpay back double.	3 mas se o sol já se tiver levantado, haverá homicídio.} Ele fará a restituição: se não tiver nada, será vendido em compensação do seu roubo.
4 'If anyone puts his animals out to graze in a field or vineyard and lets them graze in someone else'sfield, he wil make restitution for the part of the field that has been grazed on the basis of its yield. But if he haslet the whole field be grazed, he wil make restitution in proportion to the best crop of the field or vineyard.	4 Se o que ele roubou, boi, jumento ou ovelha, estiver ainda vivo em suas mãos, restituirá o dobro.
5 'If a fire breaks out, setting light to thorn bushes and burning stacks, standing corn or the field as aresult, the person who started the fire wil make ful restitution.	5 Se um homem fizer estragos num campo ou numa vinha, ou deixar seus animais pastarem no campo de outro, compensará o dano com o melhor de seu campo e de sua vinha.
6 'If anyone entrusts money or goods to someone else's keeping and these are stolen from that person'shouse, the thief, if he can be discovered, wil repay double.	6 Se um fogo se acender, alastrar-se pelos espinheiros e consumir o trigo enfeixado ou de pé, ou então todo o campo, o autor do incêndio indenizará {os danos}.
7 Should the thief not be discovered, the owner of the house will come into the presence of God, todeclare that he has not laid hands on the other person's property.	7 Se um homem confiar dinheiro ou objetos à guarda de outro, e estes forem roubados na casa deste último, o ladrão, uma vez descoberto, restituirá o dobro.
8 'In every case of law-breaking involving an ox, donkey, animal from the flock, clothing or lost propertyof any sort, the ownership of which is disputed, both parties wil lay their case before God. The party whom Godpronounces guilty wil pay back double to the other.	8 Se o ladrão não for descoberto, o dono da casa apresentar-se-á diante de Deus {para jurar} que ele não pôs a mão sobre os bens do seu próximo.
9 'If anyone entrusts a donkey, ox, animal from the flock or any other animal to someone else's keeping,and it dies or breaks a limb or is carried off without anyone seeing,	9 Em toda questão fraudulenta, quer se trate de um boi, de um jumento, de uma ovelha, de uma veste, quer se trate de qualquer outro objeto perdido, do qual se dirá: esta é a coisa, o litígio entre as duas partes irá diante de Deus, e aquele que Deus declarar culpado restituirá o dobro ao seu próximo.
10 an oath by Yahweh wil decide between the two parties whether the keeper has laid hands on theother's property or not. The owner wil take what remains, the keeper wil not have to make good the loss.	10 Se um homem confiar à guarda de outro um boi, uma ovelha ou um animal qualquer, e este morrer, ou quebrar um membro, ou for roubado sem que haja testemunha,
11 Only if the animal has been stolen from him, will he make restitution to the owner.	11 o juramento do Senhor intervirá entre as duas partes para que se saiba se o responsável pela guarda do animal não pôs a mão sobre o bem do seu próximo. O proprietário aceitará esse juramento, sem que haja restituição.
12 If it has been savaged by a wild animal, he must bring the savaged remains of the animal asevidence, and wil then not have to make restitution.	12 Se o animal foi roubado de sua casa, ele indenizará o proprietário.
13 'If anyone borrows an animal from someone else, and it breaks a limb or dies in the owner's absence,he wil make ful restitution.	13 Se foi dilacerado {por uma fera}, trá-la-á como testemunho e não terá de pagar pelo animal dilacerado.
14 But if the animal's owner has been present, he wil not have to make good the loss. If the owner hashired it out, he wil get the cost of its hire.	14 Se um homem emprestar a outro um animal, e este quebrar um membro ou morrer na ausência do seu proprietário, terá de haver indenização.
15 'If a man seduces a virgin who is not engaged to be married, he wil pay her bride-price and make herhis wife.	15 Se o proprietário estiver presente, não haverá indenização. Se o animal tiver sido alugado, o preço do aluguel bastará."
16 If her father absolutely refuses to let him have her, he will pay a sum equivalent to the bride-price of avirgin.	16 "Se um homem seduzir uma virgem que não é noiva, e dormir com ela, pagará o seu dote e a desposará.
17 'You wil not al ow a sorceress to live.	17 Se o pai recusar ceder-lha, pagará em dinheiro o valor do dote das virgens.
18 'Anyone who has intercourse with an animal will be put to death.	18 Não deixarás viver uma feiticeira.
19 'Anyone who sacrifices to other gods wil be put under the curse of destruction.	19 Quem tiver comércio com um animal, será morto.
20 'You wil not molest or oppress aliens, for you yourselves were once aliens in Egypt.	20 Aquele que oferecer sacrifícios a outros deuses fora do Senhor, será votado ao interdito.
21 You wil not il -treat widows or orphans;	21 Não maltratarás o estrangeiro e não o oprimirás, porque foste estrangeiro no Egito.
22 if you il -treat them in any way and they make an appeal to me for help, I shal certainly hear theirappeal,	22 Não prejudicareis a viúva e o órfão.
23 my anger wil be roused and I shal put you to the sword; then your own wives will be widows andyour own children orphans.	23 Se os prejudicardes, eles clamarão a mim e eu os ouvirei;
24 'If you lend money to any of my people, to anyone poor among you, you wil not play the usurer withhim: you will not demand interest from him.	24 minha cólera se inflamará e vos farei perecer pela espada; vossas mulheres ficarão viúvas e vossos filhos, órfãos.
25 'If you take someone's cloak in pledge, you wil return it to him at sunset.	25 Se emprestares dinheiro a alguém do meu povo, ao pobre que está contigo, não lhe serás como um credor: não lhe exigirás juros.
26 It is al the covering he has; it is the cloak he wraps his body in; what else wil he sleep in? If heappeals to me, I shall listen. At least with me he will find compassion!	26 Se tomares como penhor o manto de teu próximo, devolver-lho-ás antes do pôr-do-sol,
27 'You wil not revile God, nor curse your people's leader.	27 porque é a sua única cobertura, é a veste com que cobre sua nudez; com que dormirá ele? Se me invocasse, eu o ouviria, porque sou misericordioso.
28 'Do not be slow about making offerings from your abundance and your surplus. You wil give me thefirst-born of your children;	28 Não amaldiçoarás Deus; não amaldiçoarás um príncipe de teu povo.
29 you will do the same with your flocks and herds. For the first seven days the first-born wil stay withits mother; on the eighth day you wil give it to me.	29 Não tardarás a oferecer-me as primícias de tua colheita e de tua vindima. Tu me darás o primogênito de teus filhos.
30 'You must be people consecrated to me. You wil not eat the meat of anything in the countrysidesavaged by wild animals; you wil throw it to the dogs.'	30 Da mesma forma, farás com o primogênito de tua vaca e de tua ovelha: ficará sete dias com sua mãe e no oitavo dia mo darás.
	31 "Vós sereis para mim homens consagrados. Não comereis carne de um animal dilacerado no campo: jogá-lo-eis aos cães.
