1 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel. He was indeed the first-born but, when he defiled his father's bed,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he was no longer reckoned as the eldest son.	1 - Ecco i figli di Ruben il primogenito d'Israele (costui infatti era il primogenito, ma avendo violato il talamo paterno, i diritti di primogenitura passarono ai figli di Giuseppe figlio d'Israele ed egli non fu più considerato come primogenito.
2 Although Judah grew greater than his brothers and a leader came from him, the birthright wasJoseph's.	2 Per verità Giuda, che era il più forte tra i suoi fratelli, fu quegli dalla cui stirpe nacquero i principi; tuttavia la primogenitura fu assegnata a Giuseppe).
3 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Henoch, Pal u, Hezron, Carmi.	3 I figli adunque di Ruben primogenito di Israele, furono: Enoc, Fallu, Esron e Carmi.
4 Sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,	4 Figli di Joel, Samia, padre di Gog, padre di Semei,
5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son.	5 padre di Mica, padre di Reia, padre di Baal,
6 Beerah his son, whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria carried off into exile, was the chief of theReubenites.	6 padre di Beera, che fu condotto prigioniero da Telgatfalnasar re di Assiria e fu principe della tribù di Ruben.
7 His brothers, by families, were grouped according to relationship. Jeiel was first, then Zechariah	7 I fratelli poi di Beera e tutta la sua parentela, quando erano numerati secondo le loro famiglie, ebbero come principi Jeiel e Zaccaria.
8 and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. It was Reuben who lived in Aroer and his territoryextended as far as Nebo and Baal-Meon.	8 Bala poi figlio di Azaz figlio di Samma, figlio di Joel abitò in Aroer fino a Nebo e Beelmeon.
9 To eastward, what he occupied extended to the edge of the desert and the River Euphrates, for theyhad many herds in Gilead.	9 Ad oriente poi abitò la regione che si estende fino all'entrata del deserto e al fiume Eufrate, poichè possedeva un gran numero di animali nella terra di Galaad.
10 In the time of Saul, they made war on the Hagrites, whom they defeated and who were then living intheir tents throughout the eastern front of Gilead.	10 Costoro ai tempi di Saul combatterono contro gli Agarei e li uccisero e abitarono in loro vece nelle loro tende in tutta la regione che è ad oriente di Galaad.
11 Next to them, in Bashan as far as Salecah, lived the sons of Gad.	11 I figli di Gad abitarono dal lato opposto nella terra di Basan fino a Selca.
12 Joel was the first, Shapham the second, then Janai and Shaphat in Bashan.	12 Joel fu il primo in Basan; Safan il secondo; poi Janai e Safat.
13 Their brothers, by families, were Michael, Meshul am, Sheba, Jorai, Jacan, Zia, Eber: seven.	13 I loro fratelli secondo le famiglie dei loro padri furono questi sette: Micael, Mosollam, Sebe, Jorai, Jacan, Zie ed Eber.
14 These were the sons of Abihail: Ben-Huri, Ben-Jaroah, Ben-Gilead, Ben-Michael, Ben-Jeshishai, Ben-Jahdo, Ben-Buz.	14 Costoro furono figli di Abiail, figlio di Uri, figlio di Jara, figlio di Galaad, figlio di Micael, figlio di Jesesi, figlio di Jeddo, figlio di Buz.
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was the head of their families.	15 E i loro fratelli furono ancora i figli di Abdiel, figlio di Guni, capo della casa dei loro padri.
16 They inhabited Gilead, Bashan and its dependencies, as wel as al the pasture lands of Sharon ontheir extremities.	16 Essi abitarono in Galaad e in Basan e nelle città di questa regione e in tutte le borgate di Saron fino all'estremità.
17 In the time of Jotham king of Judah and in the time of Jeroboam king of Israel, al of them wereincluded in the official genealogy.	17 Tutti costoro vennero numerati ai tempi di Joatan, re di Giuda, e ai tempi di Geroboamo, re d'Israele.
18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had warriors, men armed with shieldand sword who could handle the bow and were trained for war, to the number of forty-four thousand sevenhundred and sixty fit for service.	18 I figli di Ruben, di Gad e della mezza tribù di Manasse erano guerrieri, portavano scudo e spade, usavano l'arco ed erano ben addestrati alla guerra. In numero di quarantaquattromilasettecentosessanta scesero in combattimento
19 They made war on the Hagrites, on Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.	19 e pugnarono contro gli Agarei,
20 God came to their help, and the Hagrites and al their al ies fel into their hands, for they cal ed on Godas they fought, and because they put their trust in him he heard their prayer.	20 ai quali prestarono aiuto gli Iturei e gli abitanti di Nafis e di Nodab. Gli Agarei e tutti quelli che si erano messi dalla loro parte furono dati nelle mani degli Israeliti, poichè avendo invocato durante la battaglia Iddio, questi li Esaùdì, perchè avevano sperato in lui.
21 Of their livestock they carried off fifty thousand camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, twothousand donkeys and a hundred thousand people.	21 Presero quindi tutto ciò che possedevano, cinquantamila cammelli, duecentocinquantamila pecore, duemila asini e centomila uomini.
22 Because the war was of God, the slaughter was great. They continued to live in their territory until theexile.	22 Molti poi caddero feriti, perchè quella fu la guerra del Signore. Essi abitarono in luogo dei vinti fino al tempo della cattività.
23 The sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the territory between Bashan and Baal-Hermon, Senirand Mount Hermon. They were numerous.	23 I figli della mezza tribù di Manasse possedettero il territorio dai confini di Basan fino a Baal, Ermon, e Sanir e al monte Ermon, poichè essi erano numerosissimi.
24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel -- stoutfighting men, men of renown, heads of their families.	24 E questi furono i principi della casa della loro parentela: Efer, Jesi, Eliel, Ezriel, Jeremia, Odoia e Jediel; tutti uomini fortissimi e potenti e nominati duci nelle loro famiglie.
25 But since they were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods ofthe peoples of the country whom God had destroyed before them,	25 Ma essi abbandonarono il Dio dei loro padri e fornicarono con le divinità dei popoli di quel paese che Iddio aveva sterminato innanzi a loro.
26 the God of Israel roused the hostility of Pul, king of Assyria, that is the wrath of Tiglath-Pileser, king ofAssyria who deported them -- the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh -- taking them off toHalah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan. They are stil there today.	26 Perciò il Dio d'Israele suscitò lo spirito di Ful, re di Assiria e lo spirito di Telgatfalnasar, re di Assur, e trasferì Ruben, Gad e mezza tribù di Manasse e li trasse in Laela, in Abor e in Ara e lungo il fiume di Gozan fino a questo tempo.
27 Sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath and Merari.
28 Sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, Uzziel.
29 Children of Amram: Aaron, Moses and Miriam. Sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar andIthamar.
30 Eleazar fathered Phinehas, Phinehas fathered Abishua,
31 Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi.
32 Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.
33 Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
34 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.
35 Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan.
36 Johanan fathered Azariah. He it was who officiated as priest in the Temple which Solomon built inJerusalem.
37 Azariah fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,
38 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Shallum,
39 Shallum fathered Hilkiah, Hilkiah fathered Azariah,
40 Azariah fathered Seraiah, Seraiah fathered Jehozadak,
41 and Jehozadak went into exile when, at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, Yahweh exiled Judah andJerusalem.
