NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel. He was indeed the first-born but, when he defiled his father's bed,his birthright was given to the sons of Joseph son of Israel, and he was no longer reckoned as the eldest son.	1 Fils de Ruben, premier-né d'Israël. Il était en effet le premier-né; mais quand il eut violé lacouche de son père, son droit d'aînesse fut donné aux fils de Joseph, fils d'Israël, et il ne fut plus compté commeaîné.
2 Although Judah grew greater than his brothers and a leader came from him, the birthright wasJoseph's.	2 Juda prévalut sur ses frères et obtint un prince issu de lui, mais le droit d'aînesse appartenait àJoseph.
3 Sons of Reuben, first-born of Israel: Henoch, Pal u, Hezron, Carmi.	3 Fils de Ruben premier-né d'Israël: Hénok, Pallu, Heçrôn, Karmi.
4 Sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,	4 Fils de Yoël: Shemaya son fils, Gog son fils, Shiméï son fils,

6 Beerah his son, whom Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria carried off into exile, was the chief of theReubenites.	6 Bééra son fils que Téglat-Phalasar, roi d'Assyrie, emmena en captivité. Il fut prince desRubénites.
7 His brothers, by families, were grouped according to relationship. Jeiel was first, then Zechariah	7 Ses frères, par clans, groupés selon leur parenté: Yeïel en tête, Zekaryahu,
8 and Bela son of Azaz, son of Shema, son of Joel. It was Reuben who lived in Aroer and his territoryextended as far as Nebo and Baal-Meon.	8 Béla fils de Azaz, fils de Shéma, fils de Yoël. C'est Ruben qui, établi à Aroër, s'étendaitjusqu'à Nebo et Baal-Meôn.
9 To eastward, what he occupied extended to the edge of the desert and the River Euphrates, for theyhad many herds in Gilead.	9 A l'orient, son habitat atteignait le seuil du désert que limite l'Euphrate, car il avait denombreux troupeaux au pays de Galaad.
10 In the time of Saul, they made war on the Hagrites, whom they defeated and who were then living intheir tents throughout the eastern front of Gilead.	10 Au temps de Saül, ils firent la guerre aux Hagrites, ils tombèrent entre leurs mains et lesHagrites s'établirent dans leurs tentes sur toute la zone orientale de Galaad.
11 Next to them, in Bashan as far as Salecah, lived the sons of Gad.	11 A leur côté, les fils de Gad habitaient le pays du Bashân jusqu'à Salka:

14 These were the sons of Abihail: Ben-Huri, Ben-Jaroah, Ben-Gilead, Ben-Michael, Ben-Jeshishai, Ben-Jahdo, Ben-Buz.	14 Voici les fils d'Abihayil: Ben-Huri, Ben-Yaroah, Ben-Giléad, Ben-Mikaël, Ben-Yeshishaï,Ben-Yahdo, Ben-Buz.
15 Ahi son of Abdiel, son of Guni, was the head of their families.	15 Ahi, fils de Abdiel, fils de Guni, était le chef de leur famille.
16 They inhabited Gilead, Bashan and its dependencies, as wel as al the pasture lands of Sharon ontheir extremities.	16 Ils étaient établis en Galaad, en Bashân et ses dépendances, ainsi que dans tous les pâturagesdu Sharon jusqu'à leurs extrêmes limites.
17 In the time of Jotham king of Judah and in the time of Jeroboam king of Israel, al of them wereincluded in the official genealogy.	17 C'est à l'époque de Yotam, roi de Juda, et de Jéroboam, roi d'Israël, qu'ils furent tousenregistrés.
18 The sons of Reuben, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh had warriors, men armed with shieldand sword who could handle the bow and were trained for war, to the number of forty-four thousand sevenhundred and sixty fit for service.	18 Les fils de Ruben, les fils de Gad, la demi-tribu de Manassé, certains de leurs guerriers,hommes armés du bouclier, de l'épée, tirant de l'arc et exercés au combat, au nombre de 44.760 aptes à fairecampagne,
19 They made war on the Hagrites, on Jetur, Naphish and Nodab.	19 firent la guerre aux Hagrites, à Yetur, à Naphish et à Nodad.
20 God came to their help, and the Hagrites and al their al ies fel into their hands, for they cal ed on Godas they fought, and because they put their trust in him he heard their prayer.	20 Dieu leur vint en aide contre eux, et les Hagrites, ainsi que tous leurs alliés, tombèrent en leurpouvoir, car ils avaient fait appel à Dieu dans le combat, et ils furent exaucés pour avoir mis en lui leurconfiance.
21 Of their livestock they carried off fifty thousand camels, two hundred and fifty thousand sheep, twothousand donkeys and a hundred thousand people.	21 Ils razzièrent les troupeaux des Hagrites, 50.000 chameaux, 250.000 têtes de petit bétail,2.000 ânes, et 100.000 personnes,
22 Because the war was of God, the slaughter was great. They continued to live in their territory until theexile.	22 car, Dieu ayant mené le combat, la plupart avaient été tués. Et ils s'installèrent à leur placejusqu'à l'exil.
23 The sons of the half-tribe of Manasseh lived in the territory between Bashan and Baal-Hermon, Senirand Mount Hermon. They were numerous.	23 Les fils de la demi-tribu de Manassé s'établirent dans le pays entre Bashân et Baal-Hermôn,le Senir et le mont Hermon. Ils étaient nombreux.
24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, Jahdiel -- stoutfighting men, men of renown, heads of their families.	24 Voici les chefs de leurs familles: Epher, Yishéï, Eliel, Azriel, Yirmeya, Hodavya, Yahdiel.C'étaient des preux valeureux, des hommes renommés, chefs de leurs familles.
25 But since they were unfaithful to the God of their ancestors and prostituted themselves to the gods ofthe peoples of the country whom God had destroyed before them,	25 Mais ils furent infidèles envers le Dieu de leurs pères, et se prostituèrent aux dieux despeuples du pays que Dieu avait anéantis devant eux.
26 the God of Israel roused the hostility of Pul, king of Assyria, that is the wrath of Tiglath-Pileser, king ofAssyria who deported them -- the Reubenites, the Gadites and the half-tribe of Manasseh -- taking them off toHalah, Habor, Hara and the river of Gozan. They are stil there today.	26 Le Dieu d'Israël excita l'animosité de Pul, roi d'Assyrie, et celle de Téglat-Phalasar, roid'Assyrie. 31 Abishua fathered Bukki, Bukki fathered Uzzi.	31 Abishua engendra Buqqi, Buqqi engendra Uzzi,
32 Uzzi fathered Zerahiah, Zerahiah fathered Meraioth.	32 Uzzi engendra Zerahya, Zerahya engendra Merayot,
33 Meraioth fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,	33 Merayot engendra Amarya, Amarya engendra Ahitub,
34 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Ahimaaz.	34 Ahitub engendra Sadoq, Sadoq engendra Ahimaaç,
35 Ahimaaz fathered Azariah, Azariah fathered Johanan.	35 Ahimaaç engendra Azarya, Azarya engendra Yohanân,
36 Johanan fathered Azariah. He it was who officiated as priest in the Temple which Solomon built inJerusalem.	36 Yohanân engendra Azarya. C'est lui qui exerça le sacerdoce dans le Temple qu'avait bâtiSalomon à Jérusalem.
37 Azariah fathered Amariah, Amariah fathered Ahitub,	37 Azarya engendra Amarya, Amarya engendra Ahitub,
38 Ahitub fathered Zadok, Zadok fathered Shallum,	38 Ahitub engendra Sadoq, Sadoq engendra Shallum,
39 Shallum fathered Hilkiah, Hilkiah fathered Azariah,	39 Shallum engendra Hilqiyya, Hilqiyya engendra Azarya,
40 Azariah fathered Seraiah, Seraiah fathered Jehozadak,	40 Azarya engendra Seraya, Seraya engendra Yehoçadaq
41 and Jehozadak went into exile when, at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar, Yahweh exiled Judah andJerusalem.	41 et Yehoçadaq dut partir quand Yahvé, par la main de Nabuchodonosor, exila Juda etJérusalem.
