NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 Il re Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Salomone, mio figlio, il solo che Dio abbia scelto, è ancora giovane e debole, mentre l'impresa è grandiosa, perché non si tratta di una fortezza destinata a un uomo, ma al Signore Dio.
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 Secondo le mie forze ho preparato per il tempio del mio Dio oro su oro, argento su argento, bronzo su bronzo, ferro su ferro, legname su legname, onici, brillanti, topazi, pietre di vario valore, pietre preziose e marmo bianco in gran quantità.
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 Inoltre, per il mio amore verso il tempio del mio Dio, quanto possiedo in oro e argento dono al tempio del mio Dio, in più di tutto ciò che ho preparato per il tempio santo:
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 tremila talenti d'oro, dell'oro di Ofir, e settemila talenti di argento raffinato per rivestire le pareti degli edifici,
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 l'oro per gli oggetti d'oro, l'argento per gli oggetti d'argento e per tutti i lavori da eseguirsi dagli artigiani. E chi è disposto oggi ad offrire volontariamente al Signore?".
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 Allora i capifamiglia, i capi delle tribù d'Israele, i capi di migliaia, di centinaia e i dirigenti degli affari del re fecero delle offerte volontarie
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 e diedero per l'opera del tempio del Signore cinquemila talenti d'oro, diecimila darici, diecimila talenti d'argento, diciottomila talenti di bronzo e centomila talenti di ferro.
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 Quanti si trovarono possessori di pietre preziose, le consegnarono nelle mani di Iechièl, il ghersonita, per deporle nel tesoro del tempio del Signore.
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 Il popolo si rallegrò per la loro liberalità, perché con cuore puro avevano fatto le loro offerte volontarie al Signore, e anche il re Davide ne ebbe una grande gioia.
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 Davide benedisse il Signore al cospetto di tutta l'assemblea esclamando: "Benedetto sei tu, Signore, Dio d'Israele, nostro padre, per tutta l'eternità!
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 Tua, o Signore, è la grandezza, la potenza, la gloria, l'eternità, lo splendore, perché tuo è tutto ciò che si trova nel cielo e sulla terra. Tuo, Signore, è il regno e tu t'innalzi sovranamente al di sopra di ogni cosa.
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 Da te vengono la ricchezza e la gloria; tu domini tutto; nella tua mano sono la potenza e la forza; tu hai il potere di rendere grande e potente ogni cosa.
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 Ora, Dio nostro, noi ti celebriamo e lodiamo il tuo nome glorioso.
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 E chi sono io e chi è il mio popolo, che siamo in grado di offrirti questi doni volontari? Tutto viene da te e dopo averlo ricevuto dalla tua mano, te l'abbiamo ridato.
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 Difatti noi siamo stranieri davanti a te e pellegrini come tutti i nostri padri. I nostri giorni sulla terra sono come ombra e non c'è speranza.
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 Signore, nostro Dio, tutto quanto abbiamo preparato per costruire un tempio a te, cioè al tuo santo nome, viene da te, tutto è tuo.
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 So, mio Dio, che tu scruti i cuori e ami la rettitudine. Nella sincerità del mio cuore io ho offerto spontaneamente tutte queste cose. Ora vedo il tuo popolo, che si trova qui presente, presentarti con gioia le sue offerte spontanee.
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 Signore, Dio di Abramo, d'Isacco e d'Israele, nostri padri, conserva per sempre questo sentimento nel cuore del tuo popolo. Dirigi i loro cuori verso di te.
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 A Salomone, mio figlio, dona un cuore integro per osservare i tuoi comandamenti, i tuoi precetti e i tuoi statuti, e li metta tutti in pratica e costruisca l'edificio per il quale ho fatto i preparativi".
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 Poi Davide disse a tutta l'assemblea: "Benedite, dunque, il Signore, vostro Dio". Tutta l'assemblea benedisse il Signore, Dio dei loro padri, si inchinarono e si prostrarono davanti al Signore e al re.
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 Quindi immolarono sacrifici al Signore e il giorno seguente offrirono olocausti al Signore: mille giovenchi, mille arieti, mille agnelli con le relative libazioni e altri sacrifici in gran numero per tutto Israele.
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 In quel giorno mangiarono e bevvero al cospetto del Signore con grande gioia. Di nuovo proclamarono re Salomone, figlio di Davide, e unsero lui come principe per il Signore e Zadòk come sacerdote.
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomone sedette sul trono del Signore come re al posto di Davide, suo padre. Ebbe successo e tutto Israele gli obbedì.
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 Tutti i capi, i prodi e anche tutti i figli del re Davide si sottomisero al re Salomone.
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 Il Signore rese assai grande Salomone al cospetto di tutto Israele e gli diede una maestà regale che prima di lui non ebbe alcun re in Israele.
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 Davide, figlio di Iesse, aveva regnato su tutto Israele.
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 Il tempo che regnò su Israele fu di quarant'anni: a Ebron regnò sette anni e in Gerusalemme regnò trentatré anni.
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 Morì in prospera vecchiezza, sazio di giorni, di ricchezza e di gloria. Al suo posto divenne re Salomone.
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 Le gesta del re Davide, le prime come le ultime, ecco, si trovano scritte negli atti del veggente Samuele, negli atti del profeta Natan e negli atti del veggente Gad,
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 con tutto ciò che concerne il suo regno, la sua potenza e gli eventi che accaddero a lui, a Israele e a tutti i regni degli altri paesi.
