1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 - Il re Davide parlò a tutta l'assemblea: «Salomone, mio figlio, il solo che è stato da Dio eletto, è ancor giovane e debole, mentre l'opera è grande, poichè non si deve preparare l'abitazione per un uomo ma per Dio.
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 Io poi con tutte le mie forze sono venuto preparando l'occorrente per la casa del mio Dio. L'oro per gli utensili d'oro, e l'argento per gli utensili d'argento, il rame per gli utensili di rame, il ferro per tutto ciò che dev'essere fatto in ferro; il legno per ogni opera di legno, e le pietre di onice e quelle simili all'alabastro e di diversi colori, e in grande abbondanza ogni pietra preziosa e marmo Pario.
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 E oltre a ciò, quello che ho offerto nella casa del mio Dio di ciò che mi apparteneva, l'oro e l'argento, lo dò per il tempio del mio Dio, oltre a tutto ciò che io ho preparato per la casa del santuario,
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 vale a dire tremila talenti di oro di Ofir e settemila talenti d'argento finissimo per decorare le pareti del tempio,
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 in modo che ovunque occorre l'oro l'opera si faccia d'oro, e dove occorre l'argento l'opera si faccia per mano d'artefici coll'argento. Chi vuole ancora volontariamente fare dei presenti li prenda oggi nelle mani e offra ciò che vuole al Signore».
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 Pertanto i principi delle famiglie e i capi delle tribù di Israele, i tribuni, e i centurioni, e i preposti ai beni del re promisero;
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 e diedero per la costruzione della casa di Dio cinquemila talenti di oro, diecimila soldi, diecimila talenti d'argento e diciottomila talenti di rame, e inoltre centomila talenti di ferro.
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 E chiunque si trovò d'aver pietre, le diede per la casa del Signore per mano di Jael il Gersonita.
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 E tutto il popolo era lieto nel fare tali promesse, perchè offriva tutto al Signore con cuore largo. Anche Davide godeva di gioia grandissima
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 e benedisse il Signore in presenza di tutta l'assemblea, dicendo: «Benedetto sei tu, o Signore Dio d'Israele, padre nostro, di eternità in eternità.
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 Tua è, o Signore, la magnificenza, la potenza, la gloria e la vittoria; tua è la lode, poichè tutte le cose che sono in cielo e in terra sono tue. Tuo, o Signore, è il regno, e tu sei sopra tutti i principi.
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 Tue sono le ricchezze e tua è la gloria; tu domini sopra tutto e nelle tue mani sta la virtù e la potenza, nelle tue mani la grandezza e l'impero di tutte le cose.
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 Ora, Iddio nostro, ti lodiamo ed esaltiamo il tuo nome glorioso.
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 Chi son io e chi è il mio popolo, che possiamo prometterti tutto ciò? Tutto è tuo, e i doni che riceviamo da te, te li rendiamo.
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 Siamo pellegrini innanzi a te e stranieri, come tutti i padri nostri. I nostri giorni sono ombra sulla terra, e non vi è alcuna dimora.
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 Signore Iddio nostro, tutta questa abbondanza che abbiamo preparato per edificare una casa al tuo santo nome, vien dalla tua mano, e tutto è tuo.
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 So, o Dio mio, che tu scruti il cuore e ami la semplicità, perciò con semplicità di cuore e con gioia ti ho offerto tutto ciò. E il popolo che è qua, l'ho visto con gran gioia offrirti regali.
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 Signore, Dio di Abramo, di Isacco e d'Israele nostri padri, mantieni sempre in loro questa disposizione d'animo e questa intenzione di onorarti sempre.
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 Dà a Salomone, mio figlio, un cuore perfetto, affinchè custodisca i tuoi comandamenti, le tue leggi e le tue disposizioni, e faccia tutto ed edifichi la casa per cui preparai l'occorrente».
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 Comandò poi Davide a tutta l'assemblea: «Benedite il Signore vostro Dio»; e tutta l'assemblea benedì il Signore, il Dio de' padri loro; si curvarono ed adorarono Iddio e poi il re.
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 Immolarono vittime al Signore e offrirono in olocausto nel giorno seguente mille tori, mille arieti, mille agnelli colle loro libazioni secondo l'intero rito, in gran numero per tutto Israele;
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 e mangiarono e bevettero in quel giorno dinanzi al Signore con grande letizia. Per la seconda volta unsero Salomone figliuolo di Davide. Unsero lui davanti al Signore come principe, e Sadoc come sacerdote.
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 E Salomone si assise sul trono del Signore quale re, in luogo di Davide suo padre, e piacque a tutti, e gli ubbidì tutto Israele.
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 Ma anche tutti i principi e i potenti e tutti i figli del re Davide diedero la mano e si assoggettarono al re Salomone.
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 Il Signore magnificò Salomone sopra tutto Israele e gli diede tal gloria di regno, quale nessun altro re d'Israele ebbe prima di lui.
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 Davide figlio di Isai regnò sopra tutto Israele.
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 E il tempo che regnò sopra tutto Israele fu di quarant'anni; sette anni regnò in Ebron, e trentatrè anni in Gerusalemme.
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 Morì molto avanti nell'età, pieno di giorni, di ricchezza e di gloria, e Salomone suo figlio regnò in suo luogo.
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 Le gesta di Davide re, le prime e le ultime, furono scritte nel Libro del veggente Samuele, nel Libro di Natan profeta e nel Libro del veggente Gad.
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 Così pure i fatti del suo regno, le sue imprese e i tempi che passarono sotto di lui in Israele e in tutti i regni della terra.
