NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 POI il re Davide disse a tutta la raunanza: Iddio ha eletto un solo, Salomone, mio figliuolo, il quale è ancora giovane e tenero; e pur quest’opera è grande; perciocchè questo palazzo non è per un uomo, anzi per lo Signore Iddio.
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 Quant’è a me, io ho fatto, secondo ogni mia possibilità, apparecchio per la Casa dell’Iddio mio: d’oro, per le cose che hanno ad esser d’oro; d’argento, per le cose che hanno ad esser d’argento; di rame, per le cose che hanno ad esser di rame; di ferro, per le cose che hanno ad esser di ferro; e di legname, per le cose che hanno ad esser di legno; di pietre onichine, e di pietre da incastonare, e di pietre variate, e di pietre preziose d’ogni maniera, e di pietre di marmo in gran quantità.
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 Ed anche per l’affezione che io ho alla Casa dell’Iddio mio, del mio tesoro riposto d’oro e d’argento, io dono per la Casa dell’Iddio mio, di soprappiù, oltre a tutto ciò che io ho apparecchiato per la Casa del Santuario:
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 tremila talenti d’oro, d’oro di Ofir, e settemila talenti d’argento affinato, per coprir le pareti delle case;
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 per far d’oro, ciò che deve esser d’oro, e d’argento ciò che deve esser d’argento, e per ogni lavoro che si deve fare dagli artefici. Ora chi è colui che volontariamente si disponga a fare oggi offerta al Signore?
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 Allora i capi principali delle famiglie paterne, ed i capi delle tribù d’Israele, ed i capi delle migliaia, e delle centinaia, insieme con quelli che aveano il governo degli affari del re, offerse volontariamente;
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 e diedero, per lo servigio della Casa di Dio, cinquemila talenti, e diecimila dramme d’oro, e diecimila talenti d’argento, e diciottomila talenti di rame, e centomila talenti di ferro.
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 E chiunque ritrovò appresso di sè delle pietre, le mise del tesoro della Casa del Signore, in mano di Iehiel Ghersonita.
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 E il popolo si rallegrò di ciò che coloro offerivano volontariamente; perciocchè d’un cuore intiero facevano le loro offerte volontarie al Signore. Il re Davide se ne rallegrò anch’egli grandemente
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 POI Davide benedisse il Signore in presenza di tutta la raunanza, e disse: Benedetto sii tu, o Signore Iddio d’Israele, nostro padre, da un secolo all’altro.
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 A te, Signore, appartiene la grandezza, e la potenza, e la gloria, e l’eternità, e la maestà; perciocchè tutto quello ch’è in cielo, ed in terra, è tuo; tuo, Signore, è il regno; e tu sei quel che t’innalzi in capo sopra ogni cosa.
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 Le ricchezze ancora, e la gloria, vengono da te, e tu signoreggi sopra ogni cosa; e in man tua è forza e potenza; in man tua ancora è d’ingrandire, e di fortificar chi che sia.
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 Ora dunque, o Dio nostro, noi ti celebriamo, e lodiamo il tuo Nome glorioso.
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 Perciocchè chi son io, e chi è il mio popolo, che noi abbiamo il potere di offerirti volontariamente cotanto? ma il tutto viene da te, ed avendolo ricevuto di man tua, noi te lo rendiamo.
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 Perciocchè noi siamo forestieri e avveniticci nel tuo cospetto, come furono tutti i nostri padri; i nostri giorni sono sopra la terra come un’ombra, e non vi è speranza alcuna.
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 Signore Iddio nostro, tutta questa abbondanza, che noi abbiamo apparecchiata per edificarti una Casa al tuo Nome santo, viene dalla tua mano, e il tutto appartiene a te.
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 Ed io, o Dio mio, conoscendo che tu provi i cuori, e gradisci la dirittura, ho, nella dirittura del mio cuore, volontariamente offerte tutte queste cose; ed oltre a ciò, ho veduto ora con allegrezza il tuo popolo, che si ritrova, farti la sua offerta volontariamente.
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 O Signore Iddio d’Abrahamo, d’Isacco, e d’Israele, nostri padri, mantieni questo in perpetuo nell’immaginazione de’ pensieri del cuor del tuo popolo, e addirizza il cuor loro a te.
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 Ed a Salomone, mio figliuolo, da’ un cuore intiero, per osservare i tuoi comandamenti, le tue testimonianze, ed i tuoi statuti, e per mettere il tutto in opera, e per edificare il palazzo, del quale io ho fatto l’apparecchio.
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 Poi Davide disse a tutta la raunanza: Or benedite il Signore Iddio vostro. E tutta la raunanza benedisse il Signore Iddio de’ suoi padri, e s’inchinò, e adorò il Signore, e fece riverenza al re.
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 E il giorno seguente sacrificò sacrificii al Signore, e gli offerse olocausti: mille giovenchi, mille montoni, mille agnelli, insieme con le loro offerte da spandere; e de’ sacrificii in gran numero per tutto Israele.
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 E mangiarono, e bevvero in quel dì, nel cospetto del Signore, con grande allegrezza; e di nuovo costituirono re Salomone, figliuolo di Davide, e l’unsero al Signore per conduttore, e Sadoc per sacerdote
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 E Salomone sedette sopra il trono del Signore, per esser re, in luogo di Davide, suo padre, e prosperò, e tutto Israele gli ubbidì.
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 E tutti i capi, e gli uomini prodi, ed anche tutti i figliuoli del re Davide, posero la mano sotto al re Salomone.
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 E il Signore ingrandì sommamente Salomone, nel cospetto di tutto Israele, e mise in lui una maestà reale la cui pari non era stata in alcun re che avesse regnato davanti a lui sopra Israele.
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 Così Davide figliuolo d’Isai, regnò sopra tutto Israele;
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 e il tempo ch’egli regnò sopra Israele fu di quarant’anni. In Hebron egli regnò sett’anni, e in Gerusalemme trentatrè anni;
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 poi morì in buona vecchiezza, sazio di giorni, di ricchezze, e di gloria; e Salomone, suo figliuolo, regnò in luogo suo.
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 Ora, quant’è a’ fatti del re Davide, primi ed ultimi; ecco, sono scritti nel libro di Samuele veggente, e nel libro del profeta Natan, e nel libro di Gad veggente;
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 insieme con tutto il suo regno, e la sua prodezza, ed i tempi che passarono sopra lui, e sopra Israele, e sopra tutti i regni di que’ paesi
