1 Chronicles 29

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 και ειπεν δαυιδ ο βασιλευς παση τη εκκλησια σαλωμων ο υιος μου εις ον ηρετικεν εν αυτω κυριος νεος και απαλος και το εργον μεγα οτι ουκ ανθρωπω η οικοδομη αλλ' η κυριω θεω
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 κατα πασαν την δυναμιν ητοιμακα εις οικον θεου μου χρυσιον αργυριον χαλκον σιδηρον ξυλα λιθους σοομ και πληρωσεως και λιθους πολυτελεις και ποικιλους και παντα λιθον τιμιον και παριον πολυν
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 και ετι εν τω ευδοκησαι με εν οικω θεου μου εστιν μοι ο περιπεποιημαι χρυσιον και αργυριον και ιδου δεδωκα εις οικον θεου μου εις υψος εκτος ων ητοιμακα εις τον οικον των αγιων
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 τρισχιλια ταλαντα χρυσιου του εκ σουφιρ και επτακισχιλια ταλαντα αργυριου δοκιμου εξαλειφθηναι εν αυτοις τους τοιχους του ιερου
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 δια χειρος τεχνιτων και τις ο προθυμουμενος πληρωσαι τας χειρας αυτου σημερον κυριω
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 και προεθυμηθησαν αρχοντες των πατριων και οι αρχοντες των υιων ισραηλ και οι χιλιαρχοι και οι εκατονταρχοι και οι προσταται των εργων και οι οικονομοι του βασιλεως
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 και εδωκαν εις τα εργα οικου κυριου χρυσιου ταλαντα πεντακισχιλια και χρυσους μυριους και αργυριου ταλαντων δεκα χιλιαδας και χαλκου ταλαντα μυρια οκτακισχιλια και σιδηρου ταλαντων χιλιαδας εκατον
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 και οις ευρεθη παρ' αυτοις λιθος εδωκαν εις τας αποθηκας οικου κυριου δια χειρος ιιηλ του γηρσωνι
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 και ευφρανθη ο λαος υπερ του προθυμηθηναι οτι εν καρδια πληρει προεθυμηθησαν τω κυριω και δαυιδ ο βασιλευς ευφρανθη μεγαλως
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 και ευλογησεν ο βασιλευς δαυιδ τον κυριον ενωπιον της εκκλησιας λεγων ευλογητος ει κυριε ο θεος ισραηλ ο πατηρ ημων απο του αιωνος και εως του αιωνος
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 σοι κυριε η μεγαλωσυνη και η δυναμις και το καυχημα και η νικη και η ισχυς οτι συ παντων των εν τω ουρανω και επι της γης δεσποζεις απο προσωπου σου ταρασσεται πας βασιλευς και εθνος
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 παρα σου ο πλουτος και η δοξα συ παντων αρχεις κυριε ο αρχων πασης αρχης και εν χειρι σου ισχυς και δυναστεια και εν χειρι σου παντοκρατωρ μεγαλυναι και κατισχυσαι τα παντα
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 και νυν κυριε εξομολογουμεθα σοι και αινουμεν το ονομα της καυχησεως σου
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 και τις ειμι εγω και τις ο λαος μου οτι ισχυσαμεν προθυμηθηναι σοι κατα ταυτα οτι σα τα παντα και εκ των σων δεδωκαμεν σοι
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 οτι παροικοι εσμεν εναντιον σου και παροικουντες ως παντες οι πατερες ημων ως σκια αι ημεραι ημων επι γης και ουκ εστιν υπομονη
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 κυριε ο θεος ημων παν το πληθος τουτο ο ητοιμακα οικοδομηθηναι οικον τω ονοματι τω αγιω σου εκ χειρος σου εστιν και σοι τα παντα
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 και εγνων κυριε οτι συ ει ο εταζων καρδιας και δικαιοσυνην αγαπας εν απλοτητι καρδιας προεθυμηθην παντα ταυτα και νυν τον λαον σου τον ευρεθεντα ωδε ειδον εν ευφροσυνη προθυμηθεντα σοι
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 κυριε ο θεος αβρααμ και ισαακ και ισραηλ των πατερων ημων φυλαξον ταυτα εν διανοια καρδιας λαου σου εις τον αιωνα και κατευθυνον τας καρδιας αυτων προς σε
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 και σαλωμων τω υιω μου δος καρδιαν αγαθην ποιειν τας εντολας σου και τα μαρτυρια σου και τα προσταγματα σου και του επι τελος αγαγειν την κατασκευην του οικου σου
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 και ειπεν δαυιδ παση τη εκκλησια ευλογησατε κυριον τον θεον υμων και ευλογησεν πασα η εκκλησια κυριον τον θεον των πατερων αυτων και καμψαντες τα γονατα προσεκυνησαν τω κυριω και τω βασιλει
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 και εθυσεν δαυιδ τω κυριω θυσιας και ανηνεγκεν ολοκαυτωματα τω θεω τη επαυριον της πρωτης ημερας μοσχους χιλιους κριους χιλιους αρνας χιλιους και τας σπονδας αυτων και θυσιας εις πληθος παντι τω ισραηλ
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 και εφαγον και επιον εναντιον κυριου εν εκεινη τη ημερα μετα χαρας και εβασιλευσαν εκ δευτερου τον σαλωμων υιον δαυιδ και εχρισαν αυτον τω κυριω εις βασιλεα και σαδωκ εις ιερωσυνην
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 και εκαθισεν σαλωμων επι θρονου δαυιδ του πατρος αυτου και ευδοκηθη και επηκουσαν αυτου πας ισραηλ
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 οι αρχοντες και οι δυνασται και παντες υιοι του βασιλεως δαυιδ πατρος αυτου υπεταγησαν αυτω
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 και εμεγαλυνεν κυριος τον σαλωμων επανωθεν εναντιον παντος ισραηλ και εδωκεν αυτω δοξαν βασιλεως ο ουκ εγενετο επι παντος βασιλεως εμπροσθεν αυτου
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 και δαυιδ υιος ιεσσαι εβασιλευσεν επι ισραηλ
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 ετη τεσσαρακοντα εν χεβρων ετη επτα και εν ιερουσαλημ ετη τριακοντα τρια
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 και ετελευτησεν εν γηρει καλω πληρης ημερων πλουτω και δοξη και εβασιλευσεν σαλωμων υιος αυτου αντ' αυτου
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 οι δε λοιποι λογοι του βασιλεως δαυιδ οι προτεροι και οι υστεροι γεγραμμενοι εισιν εν λογοις σαμουηλ του βλεποντος και επι λογων ναθαν του προφητου και επι λογων γαδ του βλεποντος
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 περι πασης της βασιλειας αυτου και της δυναστειας αυτου και οι καιροι οι εγενοντο επ' αυτω και επι τον ισραηλ και επι πασας βασιλειας της γης .
