1 Chronicles 29

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 Le roi David dit alors à toute l'assemblée: "Mon fils Salomon, celui qu'a choisi Dieu, estjeune et faible alors que l'oeuvre est grande, car ce palais n'est pas destiné à un homme mais à Yahvé Dieu.
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 De toutes mes forces, j'ai préparé la Maison de mon Dieu: l'or pour ce qui doit être en or,l'argent pour ce qui doit être en argent, le bronze pour ce qui doit être en bronze, le fer pour ce qui doit être enfer, le bois pour ce qui doit être en bois, des cornalines, des pierreries à enchâsser, des escarboucles et des pierresmulticolores, toutes sortes de pierres précieuses et quantité d'albâtre.
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 Plus encore, ce que je possède personnellement en or et en argent, je le donne à la Maison demon Dieu, par amour pour la Maison de mon Dieu en plus de ce que j'ai préparé pour le Temple saint:
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 3.000 talents d'or, en or d'Ophir, 7.000 talents d'argent épuré pour en plaquer les parois dessalles.
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 Qu'il s'agisse d'or pour ce qui doit être en or, d'argent pour ce qui doit être en argent, oud'oeuvre de main d'orfèvre, qui d'entre vous aujourd'hui est volontaire pour le consacrer à Yahvé?"
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 Les officiers chefs de familles, les officiers des tribus d'Israël, les officiers de milliers et decentaines et les officiers chargés des travaux royaux furent volontaires.
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 Ils donnèrent pour le service de la Maison de Dieu 5.000 talents d'or, 10.000 dariques, 10.000talents d'argent, 18.000 talents de bronze et 100.000 talents de fer.
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 Y ajoutant ce qui se trouva comme pierres, ils remirent tout cela au trésor de la Maison deYahvé, à la disposition de Yehiel le Gershonite.
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 Le peuple se réjouit de ce qu'ils avaient fait, car c'était d'un coeur sans partage qu'ils avaientainsi fait des offrandes volontaires pour Yahvé; le roi David lui-même en conçut une grande joie.
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 Il bénit alors Yahvé sous les yeux de toute l'assemblée. David dit: "Béni sois-tu, Yahvé,Dieu d'Israël notre père, depuis toujours et à jamais!
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 A toi, Yahvé, la grandeur, la force, la splendeur, la durée et la gloire, car tout ce qui est auciel et sur la terre est à toi. A toi, Yahvé, la royauté: tu es souverainement élevé au-dessus de tout.
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 La richesse et la gloire te précèdent, tu es maître de tout, dans ta main sont la force et lapuissance; à ta main d'élever et d'affermir qui que ce soit.
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 A cette heure, ô notre Dieu, nous te célébrons, nous louons ton éclatant renom;
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 car qui suis-je et qu'est-ce que mon peuple pour être en mesure de faire de telles offrandesvolontaires? Car tout vient de toi et c'est de ta main même que nous t'avons donné.
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 Car nous ne sommes devant toi que des étrangers et des hôtes comme tous nos pères; nosjours sur terre passent comme l'ombre et il n'est point d'espoir.
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 Yahvé, notre Dieu, tout ce que nous avons amoncelé pour la construction d'une Maison àton saint nom provient de ta main, et tout est à toi.
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 Je sais, ô mon Dieu, que tu sondes les coeurs et que tu te plais à la droiture, c'est d'un coeurdroit que je t'ai fait toutes ces offrandes et, à cette heure, j'ai vu avec joie ton peuple, ici présent, te faire cesoffrandes volontaires.
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 Yahvé, Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et d'Israël, nos pères, garde à jamais cela, formes-en lesdispositions de coeur de ton peuple, et fixe en toi leurs coeurs.
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 A mon fils Salomon donne un coeur intègre pour qu'il garde tes commandements, testémoignages et tes lois, qu'il les mette tous en pratique et bâtisse ce palais que je t'ai préparé."
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 Puis David dit à toute l'assemblée: "Bénissez donc Yahvé votre Dieu!" Et toute l'assembléebénit Yahvé, Dieu de ses pères, et s'agenouilla pour se prosterner devant Dieu et devant le roi.
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 Puis les Israélites, le lendemain de ce jour, offrirent des sacrifices et des holocaustes àYahvé: mille taureaux, mille béliers, mille agneaux avec les libations conjointes, ainsi que de multiples sacrificespour tout Israël.
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 Ils mangèrent et burent en ce jour devant Yahvé, dans une grande liesse. Puis, ayant faitSalomon, fils de David, roi pour la seconde fois, ils l'oignirent au nom de Yahvé comme chef, et oignirent Sadoqcomme prêtre.
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 Salomon s'assit sur le trône de Yahvé pour régner à la place de David son père. Il prospéraet tout Israël lui obéit.
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 Tous les officiers, tous les preux et même tous les fils du roi David se soumirent au roiSalomon.
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 Sous les yeux de tout Israël, Yahvé porta à son faîte la grandeur de Salomon et lui donna unrègne d'une splendeur que n'avait jamais connue aucun de ceux qui avaient régné avant lui sur Israël.
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 David, fils de Jessé, avait régné sur tout Israël.
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 Son règne sur Israël avait duré 40 ans; à Hébron il avait régné sept ans et à Jérusalem ilavait régné 33 ans.
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 Il mourut dans une heureuse vieillesse, rassasié de jours, de richesses et d'honneur. PuisSalomon son fils régna à sa place.
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 L'histoire du roi David, du début à la fin, n'est-ce pas écrit dans l'histoire de Samuel levoyant, l'histoire de Natân le prophète, l'histoire de Gad le voyant,
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 avec son règne entier, ses prouesses, et les heurs et malheurs qu'il dut traverser ainsiqu'Israël et tous les royaumes des pays.
