1 David then addressed the whole assembly, 'Solomon my son, whom Yahweh has specifical y chosen,is young and immature, and the work is great; this palace is not for any human being but for Yahweh God.	1 Il re David disse a tutta l'adunanza: Dio ha eletto tra tutti gli altri Salomone mio figliuolo ancor giovinetto, e di poche forze: or l'impresa è grande; perocché non ad un uomo preparasi l'albergo, ma a Dio.
2 With al the resources I can command, for the house of my God I have provided gold for what must bemade of gold, silver for what must be made of silver, bronze for what must be made of bronze, iron for what mustbe made of iron, wood for what must be made of wood, as well as cornelian for inlay work, slabs of multi-coloured mosaic, every kind of precious stone and quantities of alabaster.	2 Or io con tutte le forze mie ho fatti preparativi di quel, che vi vuole per la casa del Dio mio; l'oro pei vasi a oro, e l'argento per quei d'argento, il bronzo per que' di bronzo, il ferro per que' di ferro, i legnami per que' di legno, e le pietre di oniche, e quelle simili allo stibio, e quelle di varj colori, e ogni sorta di pietre preziose, e marmo di Paros in grandissima copia:
3 Furthermore, because my affections are set on the house of my God, I have also given what gold andsilver I personal y own for the house of my God, over and above everything which I have already provided for theholy Temple-	3 E oltre a tutte queste cose offerte da me per la casa del mio Dio, io do del mio peculio dell'oro, e dell'argento per il tempio del mio Dio, oltre a quello, che ho messo a parte pel Santuario:
4 that is to say, three thousand talents of gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver foroverlaying the walls of the buildings,	4 Tre mila talenti d'oro di Ophir, e sette mila talenti d'argento finissimo per coprir d'oro le pareti del tempio.
5 the gold being for what must be made of gold, and the silver for what must be made of silver: and forwhatever the craftsmen must make. Who, then, is wil ing to devote himself to Yahweh's service today?'	5 E dovunque farà di mestieri i lavori da farsi d'oro, si faccian d'oro, e que' da farsi d'argento, d'argento si facciano dagli artefici: e se alcuno spontaneamente vuol fare offerta, la presenti oggi colle sue mani, e offerisca al Signore quello, che gli parrà.
6 At this, the heads of families, the tribal chiefs of Israel, the commanders of the thousands and thehundreds and those who managed the king's affairs,	6 I capi adunque delle famiglie, e i principi delle tribù di Giuda, i tribuni ancora, e i centurioni, e gli amministratori de' beni del re promisero,
7 volunteered a gift of five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, ten thousand talents ofsilver, eighteen thousand talents of bronze and a hundred thousand talents of iron,	7 E diedero per le opere della casa del Signore cinque mila talenti d'oro, e dieci mila soldi (d'oro), dieci mila talenti d'argento, e diciotto mila talenti di rame, e cento mila talenti di ferro.
8 while those who owned precious stones presented them to the treasury of the house of Yahweh in thecustody of Jehiel the Gershonite.	8 E tutti quelli, che si trovarono di avere delle pietre preziose; le diedero per esser riposte ne' tesori della casa del Signore a Jahiel Gersonita.
9 The people rejoiced at what these had given so readily, since they had presented their freewilofferings wholeheartedly to Yahweh. King David too was fil ed with joy.	9 E il popolo si allegrò in promettendo le sue offerte volontarie: perchè di tutto cuore le facevano al Signore: e lo stesso re David ne ebbe allegrezza grande:
10 Hence, in the presence of the whole assembly David blessed Yahweh. David said: 'May you beblessed, Yahweh, God of Israel our ancestor, for ever and for ever!	10 E benedisse il Signore alla presenza di tutta la moltitudine, e disse: Benedetto se' tu, Signore Dio d'Israele padre nostro, d'eternità in eternità.
11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the splendour, length of days and glory, everything inheaven and on earth is yours. Yours is the sovereignty, Yahweh; you are exalted, supreme over al .	11 Tua ell'è, o Signore, la magnificenza, la possanza, la gloria, e la vittoria; e tua è la lode: perocché tutte le cose, che sono in cielo, e in terra, sono tue: tuo, o Signore, è il regno, e tu sei sopra tutti i regnanti.
12 Wealth and riches come from you, you are ruler of all, in your hand lie strength and power, and youbestow greatness and might on whomsoever you please.	12 Tue son le richezze, tua è la gloria: tu se' il Signore di tutto: la forza, e la possanza sono in tua mano: in tua mano la grandezza, e l'impero di tutte le cose.
13 So now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your majestic name,	13 Adesso adunque, o Dio nostro, noi ti celebriamo, e lodiamo il nome tuo grande.
14 for who am I and what is my people, for us to be able to volunteer offerings like this? - sinceeverything has come from you and we have given you only what you bestowed in the first place,	14 Chi son io, e che è il mio popolo, che abbiam cuor di promettere tutte queste cose? tue sono tutte le cose, e a te abbiam dato quello, che dalla mano tua abbiam ricevuto.
15 and we are guests before you, and passing visitors as were al our ancestors, our days on earthfleeting as a shadow and without hope.	15 Perocché noi siam pellegrini, e stranieri dinanzi a te, come tutti i padri nostri. Come Un'ombra sono i nostri giorni sopra la terra, e non v' è consistenza.
16 Yahweh our God, all this wealth, which we have provided to build a house for your holy name, hascome from you and all belongs to you.	16 Signore Dio nostro, tutta questa abbondanza (di cose) preparata da noi per erigere una casa al santo nome tuo, e venuta dalla tua mano, e tue sono tutte le cose.
17 'Knowing, my God, how you examine our motives and how you delight in integrity, with integrity ofmotive I have wil ingly given all this and have been overjoyed to see your people, now present here, wil inglyoffering their gifts to you.	17 Io so, Dio mio, che tu disamini i cuori, e ami la semplicità, ond'io nella semplicità del mio cuore tutte queste cose ho offerte con gaudio, e ho veduto come il popol tuo raunato in questo luogo con gaudio grande ti ha offerti i suoi doni.
18 Yahweh, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our ancestors, watch over this for ever, shape thepurpose of your people's heart and direct their hearts to you,	18 Signore Dio d'Abramo, d'Isacco, e d'Israele padri nostri, conserva eternamente questa inclinazione de' cuori loro, e sia per sempre durevole questo loro affetto al tuo culto.
19 and give an undivided heart to Solomon my son to keep your commandments, your decrees andyour statutes, to put them all into effect and to build the palace for which I have made provision.'	19 E anche a Salomone mio figlio dà tu un cuore perfetto, affinchè osservi i tuoi comandamenti, e le tue leggi, e le tue ceremonie: e ponga ad effetto ogni cosa, e la casa edifichi, di cui io ho preparati i materiali.
20 David then addressed the whole assembly: 'Now bless Yahweh your God!' And the whole assemblyblessed Yahweh, God of their ancestors, bowing down in homage to Yahweh, and to the king.	20 E David disse a tutta l'adunanza: Benedite il Signore Dio nostro. E tutta l'adunanza benedisse il Signore Dio de' padri loro: e s'inchinarono, e adorarono Dio, poi il re.
21 On the day fol owing this, they slaughtered sacrifices and brought burnt offerings to Yahweh onbehalf of Israel -- a thousand bul s, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs with their libations, as wel as manyother sacrifices-	21 E immolaron vittime al Signore: e offersero in olocausto il di seguente mille tori, mille arieti, mille agnelli colle loro libagioni, e conformandosi in tutto ai riti: e ciò servì più che abbondantemente per tutto Israele.
22 and they ate and drank that day in Yahweh's presence with great joy. They then made Solomon sonof David king a second time, anointing him as leader for Yahweh, and Zadok as priest.	22 E mangiarono, e bevvero in quel dì davanti al Signore con grande alterezza. E unsero per la seconda volta Salomone figliuolo di Davidde. E lo unsero pel Signore in re, e Sadoc in sommo Sacerdote.
23 Solomon took his seat on Yahweh's throne, to reign in succession to David his father. He prospered,and all Israel obeyed him.	23 E Salomone si assise sul trono del Signore invece di David suo padre, ed egli fu gradito da tutti: e tutto Israele gli prestò ubbidienza.
24 Al the chiefs, al the leading citizens and al King David's other sons pledged allegiance to KingSolomon.	24 E tutti i principi, e i magnati, e tutti i figliuoli del re David giuraron fedeltà, e furon soggetti al re Salomone.
25 Yahweh made Solomon exceedingly powerful, as all Israel could see, and gave him a reign of suchsplendour as no previous king of Israel ever had.	25 Il Signore adunque innalzò Salomone sopra tutto Israele, e diede a lui un regno glorioso, quale verun re d'Israele non l'ebbe prima di lui.
26 David son of Jesse was king of al Israel.	26 Davidde pertanto figliuolo d'Isai fu re di tutto Israele.
27 He was king of Israel for a period of forty years; he reigned at Hebron for seven years, and inJerusalem for thirty-three.	27 E il tempo, per cui egli regnò sopra Israele, fu di quarant' anni: in Hebron regnò sette anni, e in Gerusalemme trentatre.
28 He died at a good old age, ful of days, riches and honour. Then his son Solomon succeeded him.	28 E morì in prospera vecchiezza; pieno di giorni, e di ricchezze, e di gloria: e Salomone suo figliuolo gli succedette nel regno.
29 The history of King David, from first to last, is al written down in the records of Samuel the seer, therecords of Nathan the prophet and the records of Gad the seer,	29 Or le prime, e le ultime geste di David re sono scritte nel libro di Samuele profeta, e nel libro di Nathan profeta, e in quello di Gad profeta;
30 with his entire reign, his mighty deeds and the times which he, Israel and al the kings of othercountries, had experienced.	30 Colla storia di tutto il suo regno, e delle imprese, e degli avvenimenti, che succedettero sotto di lui sì in Israele, e sì in tutti i reami della terra.
