1 After he had put up buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared a place for the ark of Godand pitched a tent for it.	1 Egli si fabbricò delle case nella città di David, ed edificò un luogo per l'arca di Dio, e formolle un tabernacolo.
2 David then said, 'No one but the Levites should carry the ark of God, since Yahweh has chosen themto carry the ark of Yahweh and to minister to him for ever.'	2 Allora disse David: Non è lecito, che l'arca di Dio sia portata da altri, che dai Leviti eletti dal Signore a portarla, e ad essere suoi ministri in perpetuo.
3 David then summoned al Israel to Jerusalem, to move the ark of Yahweh to the place which he hadprepared for it.	3 E convocò tutto Israele a Gerusalemme per far portare l'arca di Dio al suo luogo, ch'ei le avea preparato.
4 David also cal ed the sons of Aaron and the Levites together:	4 E (convocò) anche i figliuoli di Aaronne, e i Leviti.
5 of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief and his hundred and twenty kinsmen;	5 De' figliuoli di Caath, era capo Uriel; e avea seco cento venti de' suoi fratelli.
6 of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief and his two hundred and twenty kinsmen;	6 De' figliuoli di Merari, era capo Asaia; e con lui dugento venti de' suoi fratelli.
7 of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief and his hundred and thirty kinsmen;	7 De' figliuoli di Gersom, capo era Joel; e con lui cento trenta de' suoi fratelli.
8 of the sons of Elizaphan: Shemaiah the chief and his two hundred kinsmen;	8 De' figliuoli di Elisaphan, era capo Semeia; e avea seco dugento fratelli.
9 of the sons of Hebron: Eliel the chief and eighty kinsmen;	9 De' figliuoli di Hebron, era capo Eliei; e avea seco ottanta fratelli.
10 of the sons of Uzziel: Amminadab the chief and his hundred and twelve kinsmen.	10 De' figliuoli di Oziel, capo era Aminadab; e con lui cento dodici fratelli.
11 David then sent for the priests Zadok and Abiathar, and the Levites Uriel, Asaiah, Joel, Shemaiah,Eliel and Amminadab.	11 E David chiamò a se Sadoc, e Abiathar Sacerdoti, e i Leviti, Uriel, Asaia, Joel, Semeia, Eliei, e Aminadab:
12 To them he said, 'You are the heads of the levitical families. Sanctify yourselves, you and yourkinsmen, so that you can move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it.	12 E disse loro: Voi, che siete i capi delle famiglie Levitiche, purificatevi insieme co' vostri fratelli, e portate l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele al luogo preparato per essa;
13 Because you were not there the first time, Yahweh our God broke out at us because we did nothandle it properly.'	13 Affinchè come l'altra volta il Signore ci gastigò, perchè voi non eravate presenti, cosi non avvenisse ora, se alcuna cosa non permessa si facesse da noi.
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves, to move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel,	14 Si purificarono adunque i sacerdoti, e i Leviti, per portar l'arca del Signore Dio d'Israele.
15 and the Levites carried the ark of God with the shafts on their shoulders, as Moses had ordered inaccordance with the word of Yahweh.	15 E portarono l'arca dì Dio il figliuolo di Levi (conforme aveva ordinato Mosè secondo la parola del Signore) sopra le loro spalle, sulle stanghe.
16 David also told the heads of the Levites to appoint their kinsmen as singers with the accompanimentof musical instruments, lyres, harps, and cymbals to play joyful y.	16 E David ordinò ai capi de' Leviti, che scegliessero tra i loro fratelli dei cantori, e sonatori di musicali strumenti, viene a dire, di nabli, lire, e cimbali, affinchè risonassero fino al cielo i suoni di letizia.
17 The Levites then appointed Heman son of Joel, Asaph son of Berechiah, one of his brothers, Ethanson of Kushaiah, one of their Merarite kinsmen;	17 E quelli scelsero de' Leviti. Heman figliuolo di Joel, e de' fratelli di lui, Asaph figliuolo di Barachia; e dei figliuoli di Merari, e loro fratelli, Ethan figliuoli di Casaia:
18 and with them their kinsmen of the second rank: Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab,Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom and Jehiel the gatekeepers.	18 E con essi i loro fratelli: e nel secondo ordine Zacharia, e Ben, e Jaziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, Eliab, e Banaia, e Maasia, e Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, che erano portinai.
19 The singers, Heman, Asaph and Ethan, were to play the bronze cymbals.	19 E i cantori Heman, Asaph, ed Ethan sonavano i cimbali di bronzo.
20 Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab, Maaseiah and Benaiah were to play the lyre.	20 E Zacharia, e Oziel, e Semiramoth, e Jahiel, e Ani, ed Eliab, e Maasia, e Banaia cantavano inni misteriosi sui nabli.
21 Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, Obed-Edom, Jehiel and Azaziah, giving the beat, were to play theharp.	21 E Mathathia, ed Eliphalu, e Macenia, e Obededom, e Jehiel, e Ozazia cantavano inni di vittoria sulle cetere a otto corde.
22 Chenaniah, the levitical director of transport was in charge of the transport, being skilful at it.	22 E Chonenia principe de' Leviti era quello, che presedeva al canto, per dare il tuono: perocché era molto intelligente.
23 Berechiah and Elkanah were gatekeepers for the ark.	23 E Barachia, ed Elcana facevano da portinaj dell'arca.
24 The priests Shebaniah, Joshaphat, Nethanel, Amasai, Zechariah, Benaiah and Eliezer blew trumpetsbefore the ark of God, while Obed-Edom and Jehiah were also gatekeepers for the ark.	24 E Sebenia, e Josaphat, e Nathanael, e Amasai, e Zacharia, e Banaia, ed Eliezer sacerdoti sonavan le trombe dinanzi all'arca di Dio: e Obededom, e Jehia erano uscieri dell'arca.
25 David, the elders of Israel and the commanders of the thousands accordingly went, amid greatrejoicing, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh up from Obed-Edom's house,	25 Davidde adunque, e tutti i seniori d'Israele, e i tribuni andarono a trasportare l'arca del testamento del Signore dalla casa di Obededom con gran festa.
26 and since God was helping the Levites who carried the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, theysacrificed seven bul s and seven rams.	26 E perchè Dio avea dato aiuto ai Leviti, che portavano l'arca del testamento del Signore, furono immolati sette tori, e sette arieti.
27 David, al the Levites who carried the ark, the singers and Chenaniah, director of transport, worecloaks of fine linen. David also wore a linen ephod.	27 Davidde poi era vestito di una veste lunga di bisso, come anche tutti i Leviti, che portavan l'arca, e i cantori, e Chonenia maestro del coro dei cantori: ma David avea ancora un Ephod di lino.
28 Thus, with war-cries and the sounding of the horn, the trumpets and the cymbals, and the music oflyres and harps, al Israel transported the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.	28 E tutto Israele accompagnava l'arca del testamento del Signore con voci di giubilo, e tra i suoni di buccine, e di trombe, e di cimbali, e di nabli, e di cetere.
29 Now, as the ark of the covenant of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul waswatching from the window and, when she saw King David dancing and playing, the sight of him filled her withcontempt.	29 E quando l'arca del testamento del Signore fu arrivata sino alla città di David, Michol figliuola di Saul mirando da una finestra, vide il re David, che saltava, e ballava; e in cuor suo lo disprezzò.
