1 Chronicles 15

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 After he had put up buildings for himself in the City of David, he prepared a place for the ark of Godand pitched a tent for it.	1 Il se bâtit des édifices dans la Cité de David, il prépara un lieu pour l'arche de Dieu, il dressapour elle une tente,
2 David then said, 'No one but the Levites should carry the ark of God, since Yahweh has chosen themto carry the ark of Yahweh and to minister to him for ever.'	2 puis il dit: "L'arche de Dieu ne peut pas être transportée, sinon par les lévites; car Yahvé les achoisis pour porter l'arche de Yahvé et en assurer à jamais le service."
3 David then summoned al Israel to Jerusalem, to move the ark of Yahweh to the place which he hadprepared for it.	3 Alors David rassembla tout Israël à Jérusalem pour faire monter l'arche de Yahvé au lieuqu'il lui avait préparé.
4 David also cal ed the sons of Aaron and the Levites together:	4 Il réunit les fils d'Aaron et les fils de Lévi:
5 of the sons of Kohath: Uriel the chief and his hundred and twenty kinsmen;	5 pour les fils de Qehat, Uriel l'officier et ses 120 frères,
6 of the sons of Merari: Asaiah the chief and his two hundred and twenty kinsmen;	6 pour les fils de Merari, Asaya l'officier et ses 220 frères,
7 of the sons of Gershom: Joel the chief and his hundred and thirty kinsmen;	7 pour les fils de Gershom, Yoël l'officier et ses 130 frères,

12 To them he said, 'You are the heads of the levitical families. Sanctify yourselves, you and yourkinsmen, so that you can move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel, to the place which I have prepared for it.	12 il leur dit: "Vous êtes les chefs des familles lévitiques; sanctifiez-vous, vous et vos frères, etfaites monter l'arche de Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël, au lieu que je lui ai préparé.
13 Because you were not there the first time, Yahweh our God broke out at us because we did nothandle it properly.'	13 Parce que vous n'étiez pas là la première fois, Yahvé avait foncé sur nous: nous ne nousétions pas adressés à lui suivant la règle."
14 So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves, to move the ark of Yahweh, God of Israel,	14 Prêtres et lévites se sanctifièrent pour faire monter l'arche de Yahvé, le Dieu d'Israël,
15 and the Levites carried the ark of God with the shafts on their shoulders, as Moses had ordered inaccordance with the word of Yahweh.	15 et les lévites transportèrent l'arche de Dieu, les barres sur leurs épaules, comme l'avaitprescrit Moïse, selon la parole de Yahvé.
16 David also told the heads of the Levites to appoint their kinsmen as singers with the accompanimentof musical instruments, lyres, harps, and cymbals to play joyful y.	16 David dit alors aux officiers des lévites de placer leurs frères les chantres, avec tous lesinstruments d'accompagnement, cithares, lyres et cymbales; on les entendait retentir d'une musique quiremplissait de liesse.
17 The Levites then appointed Heman son of Joel, Asaph son of Berechiah, one of his brothers, Ethanson of Kushaiah, one of their Merarite kinsmen;	17 Les lévites placèrent Hémân fils de Yoël, Asaph l'un de ses frères, fils de Bérékyahu, Etânfils de Qushayahu, l'un des Merarites leurs frères.
18 and with them their kinsmen of the second rank: Zechariah, Uzziel, Shemiramoth, Jehiel, Unni, Eliab,Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattithiah, Eliphelehu, Mikneiah, and Obed-Edom and Jehiel the gatekeepers.	18 Ils avaient avec eux leurs frères du second ordre: Zekaryahu, Uzziel, Shemiramot, Yehiel,Unni, Eliab, Benaya, Maaséyahu, Mattityahu, Eliphléhu, Miqnéyahu, Obed-Edom, Yeïel, les portiers;

29 Now, as the ark of the covenant of Yahweh entered the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul waswatching from the window and, when she saw King David dancing and playing, the sight of him filled her withcontempt.	29 Or, comme l'arche de l'alliance de Yahvé atteignait la Cité de David, la fille de Saül, Mikal,regarda par la fenêtre et vit le roi David danser et exulter; dans son coeur elle le méprisa.
