Genesis 7

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Yahweh said to Noah, 'Go aboard the ark, you and all your household, for you alone of yourcontemporaries do I see before me as an upright man.	1 O Senhor disse a Noé: "Entra na arca, tu e toda a tua casa, porque te reconheci justo diante dos meus olhos, entre os de tua geração.
2 Of every clean animal you must take seven pairs, a male and its female; of the unclean animals youmust take one pair, a male and its female	2 De todos os animais puros tomarás sete casais, machos e fêmeas, e de todos animais impuros tomarás um casal, macho e fêmea;
3 (and of the birds of heaven, seven pairs, a male and its female), to preserve their species throughoutthe earth.	3 das aves do céu igualmente sete casais, machos e fêmeas, para que se conserve viva a raça sobre a face de toda a terra.
4 For in seven days' time I shal make it rain on earth for forty days and forty nights, and I shall wipeevery creature I have made off the face of the earth.'	4 dentro de sete dias farei chover sobre a terra durante quarenta dias e quarenta noites, e exterminarei da superfície da terra todos os seres que eu fiz."
5 Noah did exactly as Yahweh commanded him.	5 Noé fez tudo o que o Senhor lhe tinha ordenado.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came, the waters over the earth.	6 Noé tinha seiscentos anos quando veio o dilúvio sobre a terra.
7 Noah with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives boarded the ark to escape the waters of the flood.	7 Para escapar à inundação, entrou na arca com seus filhos, sua mulher e as mulheres de seus filhos.
8 (Of the clean animals and the animals that are not clean, of the birds and all that creeps along theground,	8 Dos animais puros e impuros, das aves e de tudo que se arrasta sobre a terra,
9 one pair boarded the ark with Noah, one male and one female, as God had commanded Noah.)	9 entraram na arca de Noé, um casal macho e fêmea, como o Senhor tinha ordenado a Noé.
10 Seven days later the waters of the flood appeared on earth.	10 Passados os sete dias, as águas do dilúvio precipitaram-se sobre a terra.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, and on the seventeenth day of themonth, that very day al the springs of the great deep burst through, and the sluices of heaven opened.	11 No ano seiscentos da vida de Noé, no segundo mês, no décimo sétimo dia do mês, romperam-se naquele dia todas as fontes do grande abismo, e abriram-se as barreiras dos céus.
12 And heavy rain fel on earth for forty days and forty nights.	12 A chuva caiu sobre a terra durante quarenta dias e quarenta noites.
13 That very day Noah and his sons Shem, Ham and Japheth boarded the ark, with Noah's wife and thethree wives of his sons,	13 Naquele mesmo dia entrou Noé na arca, com Sem, Cam e Jafet, seus filhos, sua mulher e as três mulheres de seus filho;
14 and with them every species of wild animal, every species of cattle, every species of creeping thingsthat creep along the ground, every species of bird, everything that flies, everything with wings.	14 e com eles os animais selvagens de toda espécie, os animais domésticos de toda espécie, os répteis de toda espécie que se arrastavam sobre a terra, e tudo o que voa, de toda espécie, todas as aves e tudo o que tem asas.
15 One pair of al that was alive and had the breath of life boarded the ark with Noah,	15 De cada espécie que tem um sopro de vida um casal entrou na arca de Noé.
16 and those that went aboard were a male and female of all that was alive, as God had commandedhim. Then Yahweh shut him in.	16 Eles chegavam, macho e fêmea, de cada espécie. Como Deus tinha ordenado a Noé. E o Senhor fechou a porta atrás dele.
17 The flood lasted forty days on earth. The waters swelled, lifting the ark until it floated off the ground.	17 O dilúvio caiu sobre a terra durante quarenta dias. As águas incharam e levantaram a arca, que foi elevada acima da terra.
18 The waters rose, swel ing higher above the ground, and the ark drifted away over the waters.	18 As águas inundaram tudo com violência, e cobriram toda a terra, e a arca flutuava na superfície das águas.
19 The waters rose higher and higher above the ground until al the highest mountains under the wholeof heaven were submerged.	19 As águas engrossaram prodigiosamente sobre a terra, e cobriram todos os altos montes que existem debaixo dos céus;
20 The waters reached their peak fifteen cubits above the submerged mountains.	20 e elevaram-se quinze côvados acima dos montes que cobriam.
21 And al living things that stirred on earth perished; birds, cattle, wild animals, all the creaturesswarming over the earth, and all human beings.	21 Todas as criaturas que se moviam na terra foram exterminadas: aves, animais domésticos, feras selvagens e tudo o que se arrasta na terra, e todos os homens.
22 Everything with the least breath of life in its nostrils, everything on dry land, died.	22 Tudo o que respira e tem um sopro de vida sobre a terra pereceu.
23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out, people, animals, creeping things and birds;they were wiped off the earth and only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.	23 Assim foram exterminados todos os seres que se encontravam sobre a face da terra, desde os homens até os quadrúpedes, tanto os répteis como as aves dos céus, tudo foi exterminado da terra. Só Noé ficou e o que se encontrava com ele na arca.
24 The waters maintained their level on earth for a hundred and fifty days.	24 As águas cobriram a terra pelo espaço de cento e cinqüenta dias.
