1 Yahweh said to Noah, 'Go aboard the ark, you and all your household, for you alone of yourcontemporaries do I see before me as an upright man.	1 Azt mondta erre az Úr Noénak: »Menj be a bárkába, te és egész házad népe, mert téged találtalak igaznak előttem ebben a nemzedékben.
2 Of every clean animal you must take seven pairs, a male and its female; of the unclean animals youmust take one pair, a male and its female	2 Minden tiszta állatból végy hetet-hetet, hímet és nőstényt, a nem tiszta állatokból pedig kettőt-kettőt, hímet és nőstényt,
3 (and of the birds of heaven, seven pairs, a male and its female), to preserve their species throughoutthe earth.	3 az ég madaraiból is hetet-hetet, hímet és nőstényt, hogy a magja megmaradjon az egész föld színén.
4 For in seven days' time I shal make it rain on earth for forty days and forty nights, and I shall wipeevery creature I have made off the face of the earth.'	4 Mert még hét nap, azután esőt hullatok a földre negyven napon és negyven éjen át, s eltörlök a föld színéről minden lényt, amelyet alkottam!«
5 Noah did exactly as Yahweh commanded him.	5 Meg is tette Noé mindazt, amit az Úr megparancsolt neki.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came, the waters over the earth.	6 Hatszáz esztendős volt, amikor az özönvíz elárasztotta a földet.

12 And heavy rain fel on earth for forty days and forty nights.	12 és negyven napon és negyven éjen át esett az eső a földre.

18 The waters rose, swel ing higher above the ground, and the ark drifted away over the waters.	18 Azután rettenetesen megáradtak, és betöltöttek mindent a föld színén; a bárka pedig továbbhaladt a vizeken.
19 The waters rose higher and higher above the ground until al the highest mountains under the wholeof heaven were submerged.	19 Végül igen elhatalmasodtak a vizek a föld felett, és elborítottak minden magas hegyet az egész ég alatt:
20 The waters reached their peak fifteen cubits above the submerged mountains.	20 tizenöt könyökkel volt magasabb a víz, mint a hegyek, amelyeket elborított.
