NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 Yahweh said to Noah, 'Go aboard the ark, you and all your household, for you alone of yourcontemporaries do I see before me as an upright man.	1 - Ed il Signore gli disse: «Entra nell'arca, tu e tutta la tua famiglia; perchè ti ho trovato giusto nel mio cospetto, tra la presente generazione.
2 Of every clean animal you must take seven pairs, a male and its female; of the unclean animals youmust take one pair, a male and its female	2 Di tutti gli animali mondi, togline sette e sette, maschi e femmine; degli animali immondi, due e due, maschi e femmine.
3 (and of the birds of heaven, seven pairs, a male and its female), to preserve their species throughoutthe earth.	3 Ed anche degli uccelli dell'aria, sette e sette, maschi e femmine, acciò se ne conservi la razza per tutta la terra.
4 For in seven days' time I shal make it rain on earth for forty days and forty nights, and I shall wipeevery creature I have made off the face of the earth.'	4 Ancora infatti sette giorni, e poi farò piovere sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, e scancellerò di sulla faccia della terra ogni essere da me creato».
5 Noah did exactly as Yahweh commanded him.	5 Fece dunque Noè tutto quanto gli aveva comandato il Signore.
6 Noah was six hundred years old when the flood came, the waters over the earth.	6 Ed era di seicento anni, quando le acque del diluvio si riversarono sulla terra.
7 Noah with his sons, his wife, and his sons' wives boarded the ark to escape the waters of the flood.	7 Entrò Noè, i figli suoi, la moglie sua, e le mogli de' figli suoi con lui, nell'arca, per scampare alle acque del diluvio.
8 (Of the clean animals and the animals that are not clean, of the birds and all that creeps along theground,	8 Degli animali mondi ed immondi, degli uccelli, e di tutti quelli che si muovono sulla terra,
9 one pair boarded the ark with Noah, one male and one female, as God had commanded Noah.)	9 entrarono a coppie con Noè nell'arca, maschi e femmine, come gli aveva comandato il Signore.
10 Seven days later the waters of the flood appeared on earth.	10 Passati che furono sette giorni, le acque del diluvio si rovesciarono sulla terra.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, and on the seventeenth day of themonth, that very day al the springs of the great deep burst through, and the sluices of heaven opened.	11 L'anno secentesimo della vita di Noè, il diciassettesimo giorno del secondo mese, si ruppero tutti i fonti del grand'abisso, s'aprirono le cateratte del cielo,
12 And heavy rain fel on earth for forty days and forty nights.	12 e fu pioggia sulla terra per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti.
13 That very day Noah and his sons Shem, Ham and Japheth boarded the ark, with Noah's wife and thethree wives of his sons,	13 In quello stesso giorno entrò Noè con Sem, Cam e Iafet suoi figli, la moglie sua e le tre mogli de' figli suoi con loro, nell'arca;
14 and with them every species of wild animal, every species of cattle, every species of creeping thingsthat creep along the ground, every species of bird, everything that flies, everything with wings.	14 essi, e tutti gli animali secondo la loro specie, e tutte le bestie nel loro genere, quelle che volano, secondo la loro specie, tutti gli uccelli e tutti i volatili
15 One pair of al that was alive and had the breath of life boarded the ark with Noah,	15 entrarono con Noè nell'arca, a coppie, d'ogni essere vivente.
16 and those that went aboard were a male and female of all that was alive, as God had commandedhim. Then Yahweh shut him in.	16 E tutti quelli che entrarono, erano maschio e femmina per ogni razza, come aveva comandato Dio. Ed il Signore ve lo chiuse dal di fuori.
17 The flood lasted forty days on earth. The waters swelled, lifting the ark until it floated off the ground.	17 Durò il diluvio quaranta giorni sopra la terra, e le acque crebbero, e sollevarono l'arca in alto la terra.
18 The waters rose, swel ing higher above the ground, and the ark drifted away over the waters.	18 Inondarono infatti a dismisura, e tutto ricoprirono sulla faccia della terra; l'arca però galleggiava sulle acque,
19 The waters rose higher and higher above the ground until al the highest mountains under the wholeof heaven were submerged.	19 le quali prevalsero fuor di modo sulla terra, e ne furon coperti tutti i monti più alti che son sotto il cielo.
20 The waters reached their peak fifteen cubits above the submerged mountains.	20 Quindici cubiti s'alzò l'acqua al di sopra dei monti che aveva ricoperti.
21 And al living things that stirred on earth perished; birds, cattle, wild animals, all the creaturesswarming over the earth, and all human beings.	21 E fu distrutto ogni essere che si moveva sulla terra, degli uccelli, animali, bestie e rettili che strisciano sulla terra; tutti gli uomini,
22 Everything with the least breath of life in its nostrils, everything on dry land, died.	22 e tutti gli esseri che hanno sulla terra alito di vita, morirono.
23 Every living thing on the face of the earth was wiped out, people, animals, creeping things and birds;they were wiped off the earth and only Noah was left, and those with him in the ark.	23 E sterminò [Iddio] ogni vita di sulla terra, dall'uomo insino alle bestie, rettili ed uccelli dell'aria, tutti furono sterminati di sulla terra. Restò solo Noè, e quelli che eran con lui nell'arca.
24 The waters maintained their level on earth for a hundred and fifty days.	24 Le acque occuparono la terra per centocinquanta giorni.
