Hebrews 3

¹ Therefore, holy "brothers," sharing in a heavenly calling, reflect on Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession,	¹ Ezért tehát, szent testvérek, a mennyei hivatás részesei, tekintsetek a mi hitvallásunk követére és főpapjára, Jézusra,
² who was faithful to the one who appointed him, just as Moses was "faithful in (all) his house."	² aki hűséges ahhoz, aki őt megbízta, mint ahogy az volt Mózes is az ő egész házában .
³ But he is worthy of more "glory" than Moses, as the founder of a house has more "honor" than the house itself.	³ Mert annyival nagyobb dicsőségre méltó Mózesnél, amennyivel nagyobb tisztelete van a háznál annak, aki azt alkotta.
⁴ Every house is founded by someone, but the founder of all is God.	⁴ Mert minden háznak van építőmestere; aki pedig a mindenséget alkotta, az az Isten.
⁵ Moses was "faithful in all his house" as a "servant" to testify to what would be spoken,	⁵ De míg Mózes hűséges volt az ő egész házában mint szolga, mint tanúja mindannak, amit hirdetni kellett,
⁶ but Christ was faithful as a son placed over his house. We are his house, if (only) we hold fast to our confidence and pride in our hope.	⁶ addig Krisztus, mint Fiú, a saját háza fölött áll . Ez a ház mi vagyunk, ha a bizalmat és a dicsőséges reménységet mindvégig szilárdan megtartjuk.
⁷ Therefore, as the holy Spirit says: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice,	⁷ Ezért – amint a Szentlélek mondja: »Ma, amikor meghalljátok az ő szavát,
⁸ 'Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion in the day of testing in the desert,	⁸ meg ne keményítsétek szíveteket, mint a megkeseredésben, a kísértés napján a pusztában,
⁹ where your ancestors tested and tried me and saw my works	⁹ ahol atyáitok megkísértettek engem a próbatételben noha látták cselekedeteimet
¹⁰ for forty years. Because of this I was provoked with that generation and I said, "They have always been of erring heart, and they do not know my ways."	¹⁰ negyven éven át! Megharagudtam ezért arra a nemzedékre, és így szóltam: Mindig csak tévelyegnek szívükben! Ők azonban nem ismerték fel az én útjaimat.
¹¹ As I swore in my wrath, "They shall not enter into my rest."'"	¹¹ Amint megesküdtem haragomban: Nem mennek be az én nyugalmamba!«
¹² Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God.	¹² Vigyázzatok, testvérek, ne legyen közületek senkiben hitetlenségre hajló gonosz szív, hogy el ne szakadjon az élő Istentől!
¹³ Encourage yourselves daily while it is still "today," so that none of you may grow hardened by the deceit of sin.	¹³ Inkább buzdítsátok egymást minden egyes nap, amíg azt mondják: »ma«, nehogy megkeményítsen valakit is közületek a bűn csalárdsága.
¹⁴ We have become partners of Christ if only we hold the beginning of the reality firm until the end,	¹⁴ Mert Krisztusnak részesei lettünk, de csak akkor, ha az általa vetett alapon mindvégig erősen kitartunk,
¹⁵ for it is said: "Oh, that today you would hear his voice: 'Harden not your hearts as at the rebellion.'"	¹⁵ amíg azt mondják nekünk: »Ma, amikor meghalljátok az ő szavát, meg ne keményítsétek szíveteket, mint abban a megkeseredésben!«
¹⁶ Who were those who rebelled when they heard? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt under Moses?	¹⁶ Kik voltak azok, akik hallották, és megkeserítették Istent? Nemde mindnyájan, akik Mózes alatt Egyiptomból kivonultak?
¹⁷ With whom was he "provoked for forty years"? Was it not those who had sinned, whose corpses fell in the desert?	¹⁷ Kikre haragudott negyven esztendeig? Nemde azokra, akik vétkeztek, s akiknek a holtteste elhullott a pusztában?
¹⁸ And to whom did he "swear that they should not enter into his rest," if not to those who were disobedient?	¹⁸ Kiknek esküdött meg, hogy nem mennek be az ő nyugalmába , ha nem azoknak, akik hitetlenek voltak?
¹⁹ And we see that they could not enter for lack of faith.	¹⁹ S látjuk is, hogy nem mehettek be a hitetlenség miatt.
