2 "Take a census, by ancestral houses, throughout the community of the Israelites of all those of twenty years or more who are fit for military service in Israel."	2 Ermittelt die Gesamtzahl der Gemeinde aller Israeliten, die zwanzig Jahre und älter sind, aller wehrfähigen Israeliten, nach Großfamilien geordnet.
3 So on the plains of Moab along the Jericho stretch of the Jordan, Moses and the priest Eleazar registered	3 Da redeten Mose und der Priester Eleasar zu den Israeliten in den Steppen von Moab, am Jordan bei Jericho,
4 those of twenty years or more, as the LORD had commanded Moses. The Israelites who came out of the land of Egypt were as follows:	4 zu allen Männern von zwanzig Jahren und darüber, wie der Herr es Mose befohlen hatte. Das sind die Israeliten, die aus Ägypten ausgezogen waren:

8 From Pallu descended Eliab,	8 Der Sohn Pallus war Eliab;
9 and the descendants of Eliab were Dathan and Abiram-the same Dathan and Abiram, councilors of the community, who revolted against Moses and Aaron (like Korah's band when it rebelled against the LORD).	9 die Söhne Eliabs: Nemuël, Datan und Abiram. 10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them as a warning (Korah too and the band that died when the fire consumed two hundred and fifty men.	10 Die Erde tat ihren Rachen auf und verschlang sie und Korach, als seine Anhänger ums Leben kamen; das Feuer fraß die zweihundertfünfzig Mann und sie wurden zu einem warnenden Zeichen.

12 The Simeonites by clans were: through Nemuel the clan of the Nemuelites, through Jamin the clan of the Jaminites, through Jachin the clan of the Jachinites,	12 Zu den Simeonitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Jemuël die Sippe der Jemuëliter, von Jamin die Sippe der Jaminiter, von Jachin die Sippe der Jachiniter,
13 through Sohar the clan of the Soharites, through Shaul the clan of the Shaulites.	13 von Serach die Sippe der Serachiter, von Schaul die Sippe der Schauliter.
14 These were the clans of the Simeonites, of whom twenty-two thousand two hundred men were registered.	14 Das waren die Sippen der Simeoniter, im Ganzen 22200 Mann.
15 The Gadites by clans were: through Zephon the clan of the Zephonites, through Haggi the clan of the Haggites, through Shuni the clan of the Shunites,	15 Zu den Gaditern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Zifjon die Sippe der Zifjoniter, von Haggi die Sippe der Haggiter, von Schuni die Sippe der Schuniter,

20 The Judahites by clans were: through Shelah the clan of the Shelahites, through Perez the clan of the Perezites, through Zerah the clan of the Zerahites.	20 Zu Juda gehörten folgende Sippen: von Schela die Sippe der Schelaniter, von Perez die Sippe der Pereziter, von Serach die Sippe der Serachiter.
21 The Perezites were: through Hezron the clan of the Hezronites, through Hamul the clan of the Hamulites.	21 Zu den Perezitern gehörten von Hezron die Sippe der Hezroniter und von Hamul die Sippe der Hamuliter.
22 These were the clans of Judah, of whom seventy-six thousand five hundred men were registered.	22 Das waren die Sippen Judas mit ihren Gemusterten, im Ganzen 76500 Mann.
23 The Issacharites by clans were: through Tola the clan of the Tolaites, through Puvah the clan of the Puvahites,	23 Zu den Issacharitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Tola die Sippe der Tolaiter, von Puwa die Sippe der Puwaniter,
24 through Jashub the clan of the Jashubites, through Shimron the clan of the Shimronites.	24 von Jaschub die Sippe der Jaschubiter, von Schimron die Sippe der Schimroniter.
25 These were the clans of Issachar, of whom sixty-four thousand three hundred men were registered.	25 Das waren die Sippen Issachars mit ihren Gemusterten, im Ganzen 64300 Mann.
26 The Zebulunites by clans were: through Sered the clan of the Seredites, through Elon the clan of the Elonites, through Jahleel the clan of the Jahleelites.	26 Zu den Sebulonitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Sered die Sippe der Serediter, von Elon die Sippe der Eloniter, von Jachleel die Sippe der Jachleeliter.
27 These were the clans of the Zebulunites, of whom sixty thousand five hundred men were registered.	27 Das waren die Sippen der Sebuloniter mit ihren Gemusterten, im Ganzen 60500 Mann.
28 The sons of Joseph were Manasseh and Ephraim.	28 Bei den Josefstämmen Manasse und Efraim gehörten folgende Sippen
29 The Manassehites by clans were: through Machir the clan of the Machirites, through Gilead, a descendant of Machir, the clan of the Gileadites.	29 zu den Manassitern: von Machir die Sippe der Machiriter; Machir zeugte Gilead und von Gilead stammt die Sippe der Gileaditer.

35 The Ephraimites by clans were: through Shuthelah the clan of the Shuthelahites, through Becher the clan of the Bechrites, through Tahan the clan of the Tahanites.	35 Zu den Efraimitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Schutelach die Sippe der Schutelachiter, von Becher die Sippe der Becheriter, von Tahan die Sippe der Tahaniter.
36 The Shuthelahites were: through Eran the clan of the Eranites.	36 Zu den Schutelachitern gehört von Eran die Sippe der Eraniter.
37 These were the clans of the Ephraimites, of whom thirty-two thousand five hundred men were registered. These were the descendants of Joseph by clans.	37 Das waren die Sippen der Efraimiter mit ihren Gemusterten, im Ganzen 32500 Mann. Das waren die Josefstämme nach ihren Sippen.
38 The Benjaminites by clans were: through Bela the clan of the Belaites, through Ashbel the clan of the Ashbelites, through Ahiram the clan of the Ahiramites,	38 Zu den Benjaminitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Bela die Sippe der Belaiter, von Aschbel die Sippe der Aschbeliter, von Ahiram die Sippe der Ahiramiter,
39 through Shupham the clan of the Shuphamites, through Hupham the clan of the Huphamites.	39 von Schufam die Sippe der Schufamiter, von Hufam die Sippe der Hufamiter.
40 The descendants of Bela were Arad and Naaman: through Arad the clan of the Aradites, through Naaman the clan of the Naamanites.	40 Die Söhne Belas waren Ard und Naaman; von Ard stammt die Sippe der Arditer, von Naaman die Sippe der Naamaniter.

42 The Danites by clans were: through Shuham the clan of the Shuhamites. These were the clans of Dan,	42 Zu den Danitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Schuham die Sippe der Schuhamiter. Das waren die Sippen Dans.
43 of whom sixty-four thousand four hundred men were registered.	43 Die Zahl der Gemusterten bei den Sippen der Schuhamiter betrug im Ganzen 64400 Mann.
44 The Asherites by clans were: through Imnah the clan of the Imnites, through Ishvi the clan of the Ishvites, through Beriah the clan of the Beriites,	44 Zu den Ascheritern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Jimna die Sippe der Jimnaiter, von Jischwi die Sippe der Jischwiter, von Beria die Sippe der Beriaiter.
45 through Heber the clan of the Heberites, through Malchiel the clan of the Malchielites.	45 Zu den Beriaitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Heber die Sippe der Heberiter, von Malkiël die Sippe der Malkiëliter.
46 The name of Asher's daughter was Serah.	46 Die Tochter Aschers hieß Serach.
47 These were the clans of Asher, of whom fifty-three thousand four hundred men were registered.	47 Das waren die Sippen der Ascheriter mit ihren Gemusterten, im Ganzen 53400 Mann.
48 The Naphtalites by clans were: through Jahzeel the clan of the Jahzeelites, through Guni the clan of the Gunites,	48 Zu den Naftalitern gehörten folgende Sippen: von Jachzeel die Sippe der Jachzeeliter, von Guni die Sippe der Guniter,
49 through Jezer the clan of the Jezerites, through Shillem the clan of the Shillemites.	49 von Jezer die Sippe der Jezeriter, von Schillem die Sippe der Schillemiter.
50 These were the clans of Naphtali, of whom forty-five thousand four hundred men were registered.	50 Das waren die Sippen Naftalis. Die Zahl der bei ihnen Gemusterten betrug 45400 Mann.
51 These six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty were the Israelites who were registered.	51 Die Gesamtzahl der gemusterten Israeliten betrug 601730 Mann.
52 The LORD said to Moses,	52 Der Herr sprach zu Mose:
53 "Among these groups the land shall be divided as their heritage in keeping with the number of individuals in each group.	53 An diese Männer soll das Land als Erbbesitz verteilt werden, entsprechend der Zahl der verzeichneten Namen.
54 To a large group you shall assign a large heritage, to a small group a small heritage, each group receiving its heritage in proportion to the number of men registered in it.	54 Wer mehr Namen zählt, dem sollst du einen größeren Erbbesitz geben; wer weniger zählt, dem sollst du einen kleineren Erbbesitz geben. Jedem soll sein Erbbesitz entsprechend der Zahl der bei ihm Gemusterten gegeben werden.
55 But the land shall be divided by lot, as the heritage of the various ancestral tribes.	55 Doch soll das Land durch das Los verteilt werden und sie sollen ihren Erbbesitz nach den Namen der Stämme ihrer Väter erhalten.
56 As the lot falls shall each group, large or small, be assigned its heritage."	56 Der Erbbesitz soll durch das Los zwischen den großen und den kleinen Stämmen aufgeteilt werden.
57 The Levites registered by clans were: through Gershon the clan of the Gershonites, through Kohath the clan of the Kohathites, through Merari the clan of the Merarites.	57 Zu den im Stamm Levi Gemusterten gehörten folgende Sippen: von Gerschon die Sippe der Gerschoniter, von Kehat die Sippe der Kehatiter, von Merari die Sippe der Merariter.
58 These also were clans of Levi: the clan of the Libnites, the clan of the Hebronites, the clan of the Mahlites, the clan of the Mushites, the clan of the Korahites. Among the descendants of Kohath was Amram,	58 Das sind die Sippen Levis: die Sippe der Libniter, die Sippe der Hebroniter, die Sippe der Machliter, die Sippe der Muschiter, die Sippe der Korachiter. Kehat zeugte Amram.
59 whose wife was named Jochebed. She also was of the tribe of Levi, born to the tribe in Egypt. To Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam.	59 Die Frau Amrams hieß Jochebed; sie war die Tochter Levis, die dem Levi noch in Ägypten geboren wurde. Sie gebar dem Amram Aaron und Mose sowie deren Schwester Mirjam.
60 To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	60 Dem Aaron wurden Nadab, Abihu, Eleasar und Itamar geboren.
61 But Nadab and Abihu died when they offered profane fire before the LORD.	61 Nadab und Abihu aber waren gestorben, als sie dem Herrn ein unerlaubtes Feueropfer darbrachten.
62 The total number of male Levites one month or more of age, who were registered, was twenty-three thousand. They were not registered with the other Israelites, however, for no heritage was given them among the Israelites.	62 Bei den Leviten wurden im Ganzen 23000 Mann gemustert, alle männlichen Personen im Alter von einem Monat und darüber. Sie wurden aber nicht zusammen mit den Israeliten gemustert; denn ihnen wurde kein Erbbesitz wie den anderen Israeliten gegeben.
63 These, then, were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar in the census of the Israelites taken on the plains of Moab along the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.	63 Das waren die von Mose und dem Priester Eleasar gemusterten Israeliten, die sie in den Steppen von Moab am Jordan bei Jericho gemustert hatten.
64 Among them there was not a man of those who had been registered by Moses and the priest Aaron in the census of the Israelites taken in the desert of Sinai.	64 Unter ihnen war niemand mehr von denen, die Mose und der Priester Aaron in der Wüste Sinai gemustert hatten.
65 For the LORD had told them that they would surely die in the desert, and not one of them was left except Caleb, son of Jephunneh, and Joshua, son of Nun.	65 Denn über sie hatte der Herr ja gesagt: Sie müssen in der Wüste sterben. Daher war keiner von ihnen am Leben geblieben außer Kaleb, der Sohn Jefunnes, und Josua, der Sohn Nuns.
