1 See, a king will reign justly and princes will rule rightly.	1 Ecco che il re regnerà con giustizia, e i principi governeranno con rettitudine.
2 Each of them will be a shelter from the wind, a retreat from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.	2 E ciascuno sarà come al riparo dal vento e nascosto alla tempesta, come ruscello d'acqua nella siccità, come ombra di rupe che s'innalza in arida landa.
3 The eyes of those who see will not be closed;. the ears of those who hear will be attentive,	3 Non saranno più nelle tenebre gli occhi dei veggenti, gli orecchi degli uditori staranno attenti ad ascoltare,
4 No more will the fool be called noble, nor the trickster be considered honorable,	4 e il cuor degli stolti comprenderà la scienza, e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà speditamente e con chiarezza.
	5 L'insensato non sarà più chiamato principe, e il fraudolento non sarà chiamato grande.
6 For the fool speaks foolishly, planning evil in his heart:. How to do wickedness, to speak perversely against the LORD, To let the hungry go empty and the thirsty be without drink,	6 Certo lo stolto parlerà di fatuità, il suo cuore si darà all'iniquità, per compire l'ipocrisia e parlar con doppiezza del Signore, e render vuota la persona dell'affamato e togliere la bevanda a chi ha sete.
7 And the trickster uses wicked trickery, planning crimes: How to ruin the poor with lies, and the needy when they plead their case.	7 Gli strumenti del fraudolento son crudeli: infatti egli ordisce degli intrighi per rovinare con menzognere parole i mansueti, mentre il povero parla di giustizia.
8 But the noble man plans noble things, and by noble things he stands.	8 Ma il principe penserà cose degne di un principe, e starà al di sopra dei capi.
9 O complacent ladies, rise up and hear my voice, overconfident women, give heed to my words.	9 Donne ricche, alzatevi — Statemi a sentire, figlie spensierate — State attente al mio discorso.
10 In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will be shaken; The vintage will fail, there will be no harvest.	10 Fra un anno e qualche giorno — Voi tremerete, o spensierate; chè, finita la vendemmia — Non vi sarà più da raspollare.
11 Tremble, you who are complacent! Shudder, you who are overconfident! Strip yourselves bare, with only a loincloth to cover you,	11 Restate piene di stupore, o ricche — Tremate, o spensierate; spogliatevi, state piene di vergogna, cingetevi i fianchi.
12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, the fruitful vine,	12 Piangete il petto che allatta. — Il bel paese, la fertile vigna.
13 And the soil of my people, overgrown whth thorns and briers; For all the joyful houses, the wanton city.	13 Sulla terra del mio popolo — Saliranno le spine e i rovi quanto più sopra le case felici — Della città esultante?
14 Yes, the castle will be forsaken, the noisy city deserted;	14 La casa è abbandonata — La città piena di gente è derelitta, palpabili tenebre — Coprono le spelonche in eterno, sollazzo degli onagri — Pascolo dei greggi.
15 Until the spirit from on high is poured out on us. Then will the desert become an orchard and the orchard be regarded as a forest.	15 Fino a quando non si spanda sopra di noi lo spirito dall'alto, e il deserto diventi un Carmelo, e il Carmelo una foresta.
16 Right will dwell in the desert and justice abide in the orchard.	16 E il diritto abiterà nel deserto, e la giustizia si stabilirà sul Carmelo,
17 Justice will bring about peace; right will produce calm and security.	17 e opera della giustizia sarà la pace, e frutto della giustizia sarà la tranquillità, la sicurezza in sempiterno.
18 My people will live in peaceful country, in secure dwellings and quiet resting places.	18 E il mio popolo si riposerà nella bellezza della pace, nelle case sicure, nella quiete doviziosa.
19 Down it comes, as trees come down in the forest! The city will be utterly laid low. Hill and tower will become wasteland forever for wild asses to frolic in, and flocks to pasture,	19 Ma la grandine piomberà sulla foresta, e la città sarà oltremodo umi liata.
20 Happy are you who sow beside every stream, and let the ox and the ass go freely!	20 Beati voi che seminate sopra tutte le acque, e lasciate libero il piede del bove e dell'asino.
