1 See, a king will reign justly and princes will rule rightly.	1 Ecco, un re regnerà secondo giustizia e i prìncipi reggeranno secondo il diritto.
2 Each of them will be a shelter from the wind, a retreat from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.	2 Ognuno sarà come un riparo contro il vento e un rifugio contro la tempesta, come ruscelli d'acqua in una steppa, come l'ombra di una grande roccia in un'arida terra.
3 The eyes of those who see will not be closed;. the ears of those who hear will be attentive,	3 Non staranno più chiusi gli occhi di quanti vedono e le orecchie di quanti odono staranno attente.
4 No more will the fool be called noble, nor the trickster be considered honorable,	4 Il cuore degli sconsiderati s'applicherà a comprendere e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà chiaramente.
	5 L'insensato non si chiamerà più nobile né il furbo sarà detto grande.
6 For the fool speaks foolishly, planning evil in his heart:. How to do wickedness, to speak perversely against the LORD, To let the hungry go empty and the thirsty be without drink,	6 Perché l'insensato dice stoltezze e il suo cuore medita iniquità, sì da commettere l'empietà e proferire errori riguardo al Signore, rimandare vuoto lo stomaco dell'affamato e privare di bevanda l'assetato.
7 And the trickster uses wicked trickery, planning crimes: How to ruin the poor with lies, and the needy when they plead their case.	7 Il furbo -- inique sono le sue furbizie -- progetta scelleratezze, per sopprimere i poveri con parole menzognere, mentre il povero espone il suo diritto.
8 But the noble man plans noble things, and by noble things he stands.	8 Il nobile invece progetta nobili disegni e si leva per compiere cose nobili.
9 O complacent ladies, rise up and hear my voice, overconfident women, give heed to my words.	9 Donne orgogliose, levatevi, udite la mia voce, figlie baldanzose, prestate orecchio alla mia parola!
10 In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will be shaken; The vintage will fail, there will be no harvest.	10 Tra un anno e alcuni giorni voi tremerete, o baldanzose, perché è venuta meno la vendemmia e la raccolta non ci sarà più!
11 Tremble, you who are complacent! Shudder, you who are overconfident! Strip yourselves bare, with only a loincloth to cover you,	11 Fremete, o orgogliose! tremate, o baldanzose! Togliete le vesti, denudatevi, cingete i vostri lombi!
12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, the fruitful vine,	12 Battetevi il petto per i campi ameni, per le vigne feraci,
13 And the soil of my people, overgrown whth thorns and briers; For all the joyful houses, the wanton city.	13 per la terra del mio popolo, sulla quale cresceranno spine e pruni, e anche per tutte le case giubilanti della gaudente città.
14 Yes, the castle will be forsaken, the noisy city deserted;	14 Poiché il palazzo è abbandonato, la città tumultuosa è deserta. L'Ofel e il Bahan diventeranno caverne perpetue, gioia degli onagri e pascolo dei greggi.

19 Down it comes, as trees come down in the forest! The city will be utterly laid low. Hill and tower will become wasteland forever for wild asses to frolic in, and flocks to pasture,	19 anche quando cadrà la foresta, e la città sarà profondamente abbassata.
20 Happy are you who sow beside every stream, and let the ox and the ass go freely!	20 Beati voi che seminerete presso tutte le acque, e lascerete in libertà buoi e asini.
