NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
A prayer of David. Hear me, LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and oppressed.1 Bow down thine ear, O LORD, hear me: for I am poor and needy.
Preserve my life, for I am loyal; save your servant who trusts in you.2 Preserve my soul; for I am holy: O thou my God, save thy servant that trusteth in thee.
You are my God; pity me, Lord; to you I call all the day.3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
Gladden the soul of your servant; to you, Lord, I lift up my soul.4 Rejoice the soul of thy servant: for unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.
Lord, you are kind and forgiving, most loving to all who call on you.5 For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
LORD, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for help.6 Give ear, O LORD, unto my prayer; and attend to the voice of my supplications.
In this time of trouble I call, for you will answer me.7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me.
None among the gods can equal you, O Lord; nor can their deeds compare to yours.8 Among the gods there is none like unto thee, O Lord; neither are there any works like unto thy works.
All the nations you have made shall come to bow before you, Lord, and give honor to your name.9 All nations whom thou hast made shall come and worship before thee, O Lord; and shall glorify thy name.
For you are great and do wondrous deeds; and you alone are God.10 For thou art great, and doest wondrous things: thou art God alone.
Teach me, LORD, your way that I may walk in your truth, single-hearted and revering your name.11 Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.
I will praise you with all my heart, glorify your name forever, Lord my God.12 I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.
Your love for me is great; you have rescued me from the depths of Sheol.13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
O God, the arrogant have risen against me; a ruthless band has sought my life; to you they pay no heed.14 O God, the proud are risen against me, and the assemblies of violent men have sought after my soul; and have not set thee before them.
But you, Lord, are a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, most loving and true.15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.
Turn to me, have pity on me; give your strength to your servant; save this child of your handmaid.16 O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
Give me a sign of your favor: make my enemies see, to their confusion, that you, LORD, help and comfort me.17 Shew me a token for good; that they which hate me may see it, and be ashamed: because thou, LORD, hast holpen me, and comforted me.
