Psalms 85

1 For the leader. A psalm of the Korahites.	1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Psalm] Yahweh, you are gracious to your land, you bringback the captives of Jacob,
2 You once favored, LORD, your land, restored the good fortune of Jacob.	2 you take away the guilt of your people, you blot out al their sin.Pause
3 You forgave the guilt of your people, pardoned all their sins. Selah	3 You retract al your anger, you renounce the heat of your fury.
4 You withdrew all your wrath, turned back your burning anger.	4 Bring us back, God our Saviour, appease your indignation against us!
5 Restore us once more, God our savior; abandon your wrath against us.	5 Wil you be angry with us for ever? Wil you prolong your wrath age after age?
6 Will you be angry with us forever, drag out your anger for all generations?	6 Wil you not give us life again, for your people to rejoice in you?
7 Please give us life again, that your people may rejoice in you.	7 Show us, Lord, your faithful love, grant us your saving help.
8 Show us, LORD, your love; grant us your salvation.	8 I am listening. What is God's message? Yahweh's message is peace for his people, for his faithful, ifonly they renounce their folly.
9 I will listen for the word of God; surely the LORD will proclaim peace To his people, to the faithful, to those who trust in him.	9 His saving help is near for those who fear him, his glory wil dwel in our land.
10 Near indeed is salvation for the loyal; prosperity will fill our land.	10 Faithful Love and Loyalty join together, Saving Justice and Peace embrace.
11 Love and truth will meet; justice and peace will kiss.	11 Loyalty wil spring up from the earth, and Justice wil lean down from heaven.
12 Truth will spring from the earth; justice will look down from heaven.	12 Yahweh will himself give prosperity, and our soil wil yield its harvest.
13 The LORD will surely grant abundance; our land will yield its increase.	13 Justice will walk before him, treading out a path.
14 Prosperity will march before the Lord, and good fortune will follow behind.
