1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.	1 Per quelli, che saranno cangiati, di Davidde. Salvami, o Dio: imperocché son penetrate le acque fino all'anima mia.
2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.	2 Son fitto in profondissimo fango, che non ha consistenza.
3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.	3 Son venuto in alto mare, e la tempesta mi ha sommerso.
4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.	4 Mi sono stancato a gridare: le mie fauci sono inaridite: si sono ottenebrati gli occhi miei, mentre aspettando li tengo rivolti al mio Dio.
5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.	5 Son cresciuti di numero sopra i capelli della mia testa coloro, che mi odiano senza ragione. Son divenuti più forti i nemici miei, che mi perseguitano ingiustamente: io allora pagai quello, che io non aveva rapito.
6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,	6 Tu conosci, o Dio, la mia stoltezza? e i miei peccati non sono nascosi a te.
7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.	7 Non abbian per causa mia da arrossire coloro, i quali aspettano te, o Dio degli eserciti. Non sian confusi per cagion mia coloro, che cercano te, o Dio d'Israele.
8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah	8 Perocché per amor tuo ho sofferta ignominia, e di confusione è stato coperto il mio volto.
9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.	9 Son divenuto straniero a' miei fratelli, e ignoto a' figliuoli della mia madre.
10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;	10 Perché lo zelo della tua casa mi divorò, e gli insulti di coloro, che ti insultavano son ricaduti sopra di me.
11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.	11 E umiliai col digiuno l'anima mia, e tutto questo si è per me convertito in obbrobrio.
12 All you people so numerous,	12 E presi per mia veste il cilicio, e fui il loro ludibrio.
13 b) Every household will share the booty,	13 Contro di me parlavano quei, che stavano assisi alla porta: e sopra di me i bevoni cantavano delle canzoni.
14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."	14 Ma io a te, o Signore, rivolgo la mia orazione: tempo di favore, o Dio, egli è questo. Esaudiscimi secondo la moltitudine della tua misericordia, secondo la verità della salute, ch'io aspetto da te.
15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.	15 Trammi dal fango, aftinché io non ti resti sommerso: liberami da coloro, che mi odiano, e dalle acque profonde.
16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,	16 Non mi sommerga la tempesta, e non mi assorbisca il mar profondo, e il pozzo non serri la sua bocca sopra di me.
17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?	17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, perché benefica ella è la tua misericordia: secondo la molta tua pietà a me rivolgi lo sguardo.
18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.	18 E non perder di vista il tuo servo: esaudiscimi prontamente, perché io son tribolato.
19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.	19 Fatti dappresso all'anima mia, e dalle salute: a riguardo de' miei nemici conducimi a salvamento.
20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah	20 A te son noti gli obbrobrj, ch'io soffro, e la confusione mia, e la mia ignominia.
21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.	21 Sotto degli occhi tuoi sono tutti quelli, che mi tormentano: il mio cuore mi aspettò obbrobrj, e miserie. E aspettai chi entrasse a parte di mia tristezza, e non vi fu, e chi mi porgesse consolazione, e noi trovai.
22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.	22 E il fiele dettero a me per cibo: e nella sete mia mi abbeverarono coll'aceto.
23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.	23 La loro mensa diventi per essi lacciuolo, e scandalo per loro retribuzione.
24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."	24 Si offuschino i loro occhi, sicché non veggano: e aggrava mai sempre il loro dorso.
25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.	25 Scarica sopra di loro l'ira tua, e gli serri il furore dell'ira tua.
26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.	26 La loro abitazione diventi un deserto, e non siavi chi abiti sotto i loro padiglioni.
27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.	27 Perocché hanno perseguitato colui, cui tu avevi percosso, e al dolore delle mie piaghe aggiunser dolore.
28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.	28 Aggiungi iniquità alle loro iniquità, e alla giustizia tua non pervengano.
29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.	29 Siano cancellati dal libro de' viventi, e non sian descritti trai giusti.
30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.	30 Io son povero, e addolorato; la tua salute, o Dio, mi ha sostenuto.
31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.	31 Loderò il nome di Dio co' miei cantici, e lo glorificherò coi rendimenti di grazie:
32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.	32 E questi piaceranno a Dio più, che un giovane vitello, che butti fuora le corna, e le unghie.
33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah	33 Veggan ciò i poveri, e si consolino: cercate Dio, e l'anima vostra avrà vita:
34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.	34 Imperocché il Signore ha esauditi i poveri, e non ha posti in non cale quei, che sono per lui in catene.
35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.	35 Dian lode a lui i cieli, e la terra: il mare, e gli animali tutti, che sono in lor contenuti:
36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!	36 Imperocché Dio salverà Sionne, e saranno edificate le città di Giuda. Ed ivi avran ferma stanza, e la possederanno come proprio retaggio.
	37 E i figliuoli de' servi di lui avràn di essa il possesso: e in essa dimoreranno quelli, che amano il di lui nome.
