1 For the leader. A psalm of David; a song.	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo. Canto.
2 God will arise for battle; the enemy will be scattered; those who hate God will flee.	2 Sorga Dio e siano dispersi i suoi nemicie fuggano davanti a lui quelli che lo odiano.
3 The wind will disperse them like smoke; as wax is melted by fire, so the wicked will perish before God.	3 Come si dissolve il fumo, tu li dissolvi;come si scioglie la cera di fronte al fuoco,periscono i malvagi davanti a Dio.
4 Then the just will be glad; they will rejoice before God; they will celebrate with great joy.	4 I giusti invece si rallegrano,esultano davanti a Dioe cantano di gioia.
5 Sing to God, praise the divine name; exalt the rider of the clouds. Rejoice before this God whose name is the LORD.	5 Cantate a Dio, inneggiate al suo nome,appianate la strada a colui che cavalca le nubi:Signore è il suo nome,esultate davanti a lui.
6 Father of the fatherless, defender of widows-- this is the God whose abode is holy,	6 Padre degli orfani e difensore delle vedoveè Dio nella sua santa dimora.
7 Who gives a home to the forsaken, who leads prisoners out to prosperity, while rebels live in the desert.	7 A chi è solo, Dio fa abitare una casa,fa uscire con gioia i prigionieri.Solo i ribelli dimorano in arida terra.
8 God, when you went forth before your people, when you marched through the desert, Selah	8 O Dio, quando uscivi davanti al tuo popolo,quando camminavi per il deserto,
9 The earth quaked, the heavens shook, before God, the One of Sinai, before God, the God of Israel.	9 tremò la terra, i cieli stillaronodavanti a Dio, quello del Sinai,davanti a Dio, il Dio d’Israele.
10 You claimed a land as your own, O God;	10 Pioggia abbondante hai riversato, o Dio,la tua esausta eredità tu hai consolidato
11 your people settled there. There you poured abundant rains, God, graciously given to the poor in their need.	11 e in essa ha abitato il tuo popolo,in quella che, nella tua bontà,hai reso sicura per il povero, o Dio.
12 All you people so numerous,	12 Il Signore annuncia una notizia,grande schiera sono le messaggere di vittoria:
13 b) Every household will share the booty,	13 «Fuggono, fuggono i re degli eserciti!Nel campo, presso la casa, ci si divide la preda.
14 c) its wings covered with yellow gold."	14 Non restate a dormire nei recinti!Splendono d’argento le ali della colomba,di riflessi d’oro le sue piume».
15 When the Almighty routed the kings there, the spoils were scattered like snow on Zalmon.	15 Quando l’Onnipotente là disperdeva i re,allora nevicava sul Salmon.
16 You high mountains of Bashan, you rugged mountains of Bashan,	16 Montagna eccelsa è il monte di Basan,montagna dalle alte cime è il monte di Basan.
17 You rugged mountains, why look with envy at the mountain where God has chosen to dwell, where the LORD resides forever?	17 Perché invidiate, montagne dalle alte cime,la montagna che Dio ha desiderato per sua dimora?Il Signore l’abiterà per sempre.
18 God's chariots were myriad, thousands upon thousands; from Sinai the Lord entered the holy place.	18 I carri di Dio sono miriadi, migliaia gli arcieri:il Signore è tra loro, sul Sinai, in santità.
19 You went up to its lofty height; you took captives, received slaves as tribute. No rebels can live in the presence of God.	19 Sei salito in alto e hai fatto prigionieri –dagli uomini hai ricevuto tributie anche dai ribelli –,perché là tu dimori, Signore Dio!
20 Blessed be the Lord day by day, God, our salvation, who carries us. Selah	20 Di giorno in giorno benedetto il Signore:a noi Dio porta la salvezza.
21 Our God is a God who saves; escape from death is in the LORD God's hands.	21 Il nostro Dio è un Dio che salva;al Signore Dio appartengono le porte della morte.
22 God will crush the skulls of the enemy, the hairy heads of those who walk in sin.	22 Sì, Dio schiaccerà il capo dei suoi nemici,la testa dai lunghi capelli di chi percorre la via del delitto.
23 The Lord has said: "Even from Bashan I will fetch them, fetch them even from the depths of the sea.	23 Ha detto il Signore: «Da Basan li farò tornare,li farò tornare dagli abissi del mare,
24 You will wash your feet in your enemy's blood; the tongues of your dogs will lap it up."	24 perché il tuo piede si bagni nel sanguee la lingua dei tuoi cani riceva la sua parte tra i nemici».
25 Your procession comes into view, O God, your procession into the holy place, my God and king.	25 Appare il tuo corteo, Dio,il corteo del mio Dio, del mio re, nel santuario.
26 The singers go first, the harpists follow; in their midst girls sound the timbrels.	26 Precedono i cantori, seguono i suonatori di cetra,insieme a fanciulle che suonano tamburelli.
27 In your choirs, bless God; bless the LORD, you from Israel's assemblies.	27 «Benedite Dio nelle vostre assemblee,benedite il Signore, voi della comunità d’Israele».
28 In the lead is Benjamin, few in number; there the princes of Judah, a large throng, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali, too.	28 Ecco Beniamino, un piccolo che guidai capi di Giuda, la loro schiera,i capi di Zàbulon, i capi di Nèftali.
29 Summon again, O God, your power, the divine power you once showed for us.	29 Mostra, o Dio, la tua forza,conferma, o Dio, quanto hai fatto per noi!
30 Show it from your temple on behalf of Jerusalem, that kings may bring you tribute.	30 Per il tuo tempio, in Gerusalemme,i re ti porteranno doni.
31 Roar at the wild beast of the reeds, the herd of mighty bulls, the lords of nations; scatter the nations that delight in war.	31 Minaccia la bestia del canneto,quel branco di bufali, quell’esercito di tori,che si prostrano a idoli d’argento;disperdi i popoli che amano la guerra!
32 Exact rich tribute from lower Egypt, from upper Egypt, gold and silver; make Ethiopia extend its hands to God.	32 Verranno i grandi dall’Egitto,l’Etiopia tenderà le mani a Dio.
33 You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; chant the praises of the Lord, Selah	33 Regni della terra, cantate a Dio,cantate inni al Signore,
34 Who rides the heights of the ancient heavens, whose voice is thunder, mighty thunder.	34 a colui che cavalca nei cieli, nei cieli eterni.Ecco, fa sentire la sua voce, una voce potente!
35 Confess the power of God, whose majesty protects Israel, whose power is in the sky.	35 Riconoscete a Dio la sua potenza,la sua maestà sopra Israele,la sua potenza sopra le nubi.
36 Awesome is God in his holy place, the God of Israel, who gives power and strength to his people. Blessed be God!	36 Terribile tu sei, o Dio, nel tuo santuario.È lui, il Dio d’Israele, che dà forza e vigore al suo popolo.Sia benedetto Dio!
