Psalms 18

NEW AMERICAN BIBLE	Біблія
1 For the leader. Of David, the servant of the LORD, who sang to the LORD the words of this song after the LORD had rescued him from the clutches of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.	1 Провідникові хору. Слуги Господнього Давида, що мовив Господеві слова цієї пісні, коли Господь урятував його з руки всіх ворогів його та з руки Саула.
2 He said: I love you, LORD, my strength,	2 Він мовив: Люблю тебе, Господи, моя сило!
3 LORD, my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, My God, my rock of refuge, my shield, my saving horn, my stronghold!	3 Господи, моя скеле, моя твердине мій визвольнику, мій Боже, моя скеле, що до неї прибігаю; ти мій щит, ріг спасіння мого, мій захисте!
4 Praised be the LORD, I exclaim! I have been delivered from my enemies.	4 До Господа, похвали гідного, візву я і від ворогів моїх спасуся.
5 The breakers of death surged round about me; the menacing floods terrified me.	5 Хвилі смерти мене оточили і погибельні потоки мене налякали.
6 The cords of Sheol tightened; the snares of death lay in wait for me.	6 Оплели мене пута Шеолу, смертельні сіті мене охопили.
7 In my distress I called out: LORD! I cried out to my God. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry to him reached his ears.	7 У моїй скруті до Господа візвав я, заволав до Бога мого. І він почув мій голос із свого храму, і моє благання дійшло до вух його.
8 The earth rocked and shook; the foundations of the mountains trembled; they shook as his wrath flared up.	8 Здригнулася земля й захиталась, і гір основи затремтіли й захитались, бо запалав він гнівом.
9 Smoke rose in his nostrils, a devouring fire poured from his mouth; it kindled coals into flame.	9 І бухнув дим із ніздрів у нього і пожираючий вогонь із уст у нього і вугілля, що запалив він.
10 He parted the heavens and came down, a dark cloud under his feet.	10 Він небо нахилив, спустився, і чорна хмара в нього під ногами.
11 Mounted on a cherub he flew, borne along on the wings of the wind.	11 Верхи летів він на херувимі, линув, нісся на крилах вітру.
12 He made darkness the cover about him; his canopy, heavy thunderheads.	12 Він темряву зробив собі покровом, шатро його — то темні води, густі хмари.
13 Before him scudded his clouds, hail and lightning too.	13 Від сяйва, що перед ним, палюче вугілля загорілось.
14 The LORD thundered from heaven; the Most High made his voice resound.	14 І загримів Господь на небі, Всевишній подав свій голос.
15 He let fly his arrows and scattered them; shot his lightning bolts and dispersed them.	15 Він пустив стріли свої і їх розсипав, блискавок силу, і розігнав їх.
16 Then the bed of the sea appeared; the world's foundations lay bare, At the roar of the LORD, at the storming breath of his nostrils.	16 І показалося дно моря. Відкрилися основи всесвіту на твоє, Господи, грізне слово, на дужий подув твого гніву.
17 He reached down from on high and seized me; drew me out of the deep waters.	17 Він простер руку з високости, взяв мене, витяг мене з вод глибоких.
18 He rescued me from my mighty enemy, from foes too powerful for me.	18 І визволив мене від мого ворога сильного, від ненависників моїх, дужчих від мене.
19 They attacked me on a day of distress, but the LORD came to my support.	19 Вони на мене насідали під час мого нещастя, але Господь був підпорою моєю.
20 He set me free in the open; he rescued me because he loves me.	20 Він мене на простір вивів і визволив мене, бо мене любить.
21 The LORD acknowledged my righteousness, rewarded my clean hands.	21 Господь віддав мені по моїй правді, за чистотою рук моїх дав мені нагороду;
22 For I kept the ways of the LORD; I was not disloyal to my God.	22 бо я тримавсь доріг Господніх і не відступав гріхом від Бога;
23 His laws were all before me, his decrees I did not cast aside.	23 бо присуди його усі були передо мною, і наказів його я не цурався.
24 I was honest toward him; I was on guard against sin.	24 Я був з ним бездоганний і від гріха берігся.
25 So the LORD rewarded my righteousness, the cleanness of my hands in his sight.	25 Господь віддав мені по моїй справедливості, за чистотою рук моїх, яку він бачить власними очима.
26 Toward the faithful you are faithful; to the honest you are honest;	26 З милосердним ти — милосердний, з досконалим — досконалий,
27 Toward the sincere, sincere; but to the perverse you are devious.	27 з чистим — чистий, з хитрим — обачний.
28 Humble people you save; haughty eyes you bring low.	28 Ти бо спасаєш люд покірний і принижуєш горді очі.
29 You, LORD, give light to my lamp; my God brightens the darkness about me.	29 Бо ти, о Господи, даєш світло моєму світлу; освітлюєш, мій Боже, мою темінь.
30 With you I can rush an armed band, with my God to help I can leap a wall.	30 З тобою бо я кинусь на загони ворожі і з моїм Богом перескочу через мури.
31 God's way is unerring; the LORD'S promise is tried and true; he is a shield for all who trust in him.	31 Бог — бездоганна його дорога, слово Господнє — вогнем випробуване. Він — щит для всіх тих, що до нього прибігають.
32 Truly, who is God except the LORD? Who but our God is the rock?	32 Хто Бог, окрім Господа? Або хто скеля, крім нашого Бога?
33 This God who girded me with might, kept my way unerring,	33 Бог, що підперізує мене силою і чинить досконалим шлях мій,
34 Who made my feet swift as a deer's, set me safe on the heights,	34 що ноги мої робить, як у лані, і ставить мене на висотах,
35 Who trained my hands for war, my arms to bend even a bow of bronze.	35 навчає руки мої до бою, мої рамена — напинати лук мосяжний.
36 You have given me your protecting shield; your right hand has upheld me; you stooped to make me great.	36 Ти дав мені щит твого спасіння, твоя десниця мене підтримала, і твоя милість робить мене великим.
37 You gave me room to stride; my feet never stumbled.	37 Ти розширив мені дорогу під стопами, і ноги мої не спіткнулись.
38 I pursued my enemies and overtook them; I did not turn back till I destroyed them.	38 Я гнався за ворогами, доганяв їх, і не повертався, поки їх не знищив.
39 I struck them down; they could not rise; they fell dead at my feet.	39 Я їх розбив, і вони встати не зможуть, вони впали ниць мені під ноги.
40 You girded me with strength for war, subdued adversaries at my feet.	40 Підперезав ти мене силою до бою і моїх напасників ти підбив під мене.
41 My foes you put to flight before me; those who hated me I destroyed.	41 Ворогів моїх ти завернув до втечі і ненависників моїх ізнищив.
42 They cried for help, but no one saved them; cried to the LORD but got no answer.	42 Вони зняли крик, — та нікому їх рятувати, до Господа, — та він їх не слухав.
43 I ground them fine as dust in the wind; like mud in the streets I trampled them down.	43 Я їх розтер, немов порох на вітрі, неначе болото на вулиці, я розтоптав їх.
44 You rescued me from the strife of peoples; you made me head over nations. A people I had not known became my slaves;	44 Ти мене спас від чвар людських, поставив мене на чолі народів. Народ, якого я не відав, мені служить;
45 as soon as they heard of me they obeyed. Foreigners cringed before me;	45 ледве почують, уже мені й слухняні, підлещуються до мене чужоземці.
46 their courage failed; they came trembling from their fortresses.	46 Чужі бліднуть і, тремтячи, вилазять із своїх замків.
47 The LORD lives! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be God, my savior!	47 Нехай живе Господь, благословенна нехай буде моя Скеля. І вознесен нехай буде Бог, мій Спаситель;
48 O God who granted me vindication, made peoples subject to me,	48 Бог, що дав мені відплату, що підкорив мені народи;
49 and preserved me from my enemies, Truly you have exalted me above my adversaries, from the violent you have rescued me.	49 що спас мене від ворогів, підняв мене над тими, що повстали проти мене; що врятував мене від розбишаки.
50 Thus I will proclaim you, LORD, among the nations; I will sing the praises of your name.	50 Тим, Господи, я між народами тебе прославлю, співатиму псалом імені твоєму.
51 You have given great victories to your king, and shown kindness to your anointed, to David and his posterity forever.	51 Бо дав єси велику перемогу цареві твоєму, і милість учинив помазаникові твоєму: Давидові та його потомству на всі віки.
