1 Hallelujah! How good to celebrate our God in song; how sweet to give fitting praise.	1 LODATE il Signore; Perciocchè egli è cosa buona e dilettevole di salmeggiar l’Iddio nostro; La lode è decevole.
2 The LORD rebuilds Jerusalem, gathers the dispersed of Israel,	2 Il Signore è quel ch’edifica Gerusalemme; Egli raccoglierà i dispersi d’Israele.
3 Heals the brokenhearted, binds up their wounds,	3 Egli è quel che guarisce quelli che hanno il cuor rotto, E fascia le lor doglie;
4 Numbers all the stars, calls each of them by name.	4 Che conta il numero delle stelle; Che le chiama tutte per li nomi loro.
5 Great is our Lord, vast in power, with wisdom beyond measure.	5 Il nostro Signore è grande, e di gran forza; La sua intelligenza è infinita.
6 The LORD sustains the poor, but casts the wicked to the ground.	6 Il Signore solleva i mansueti; Ed abbatte gli empi fino a terra.
7 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; with the lyre celebrate our God,	7 Cantate al Signore con lode; Salmeggiate colla cetera all’Iddio nostro;
8 Who covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, makes grass sprout on the mountains,	8 Il qual copre il cielo di nuvole, Ed apparecchia la pioggia alla terra, E fa che i monti producono l’erba.
9 Who gives animals their food and ravens what they cry for.	9 Che dà la sua pastura al bestiame. A’ figli de’ corvi, che gridano.
10 God takes no delight in the strength of horses, no pleasure in the runner's stride.	10 Egli non si compiace nella forza del cavallo; Egli non gradisce le gambe dell’uomo.
11 Rather the LORD takes pleasure in the devout, those who await his faithful care.	11 Il Signore gradisce quelli che lo temono, Quelli che sperano nella sua benignità
12 Glorify the LORD, Jerusalem; Zion, offer praise to your God,	12 Gerusalemme, celebra il Signore; Sion, loda il tuo Dio.
13 Who has strengthened the bars of your gates, blessed your children within you,	13 Perciocchè egli rinforza le sbarre delle tue porte; Egli benedice i tuoi figliuoli in mezzo di te.
14 Brought peace to your borders, and filled you with finest wheat.	14 Egli è quel che mantiene il tuo paese in pace; Che ti sazia di grascia di frumento;
15 The LORD sends a command to earth; his word runs swiftly!	15 Che manda il suo dire in terra; E la sua parola corre velocissimamente;
16 Thus snow is spread like wool, frost is scattered like ash,	16 Che manda la neve a guisa di lana; Che sparge la brina a guisa di cenere;
17 Hail is dispersed like crumbs; before such cold the waters freeze.	17 Che getta il suo ghiaccio come per pezzi; E chi potrà durar davanti al suo freddo?
18 Again he sends his word and they melt; the wind is unleashed and the waters flow.	18 Egli manda la sua parola, e fa struggere quelle cose; Egli fa soffiare il suo vento, è le acque corrono.
19 The LORD also proclaims his word to Jacob, decrees and laws to Israel.	19 Egli annunzia le sue parole a Giacobbe; I suoi statuti e le sue leggi ad Israele.
20 God has not done this for other nations; of such laws they know nothing. Hallelujah!	20 Egli non ha fatto così a tutte le genti; Ed esse non conoscono le sue leggi. Alleluia
