1 I love the LORD, who listened to my voice in supplication,	1 Alleluia. Amo il Signore perché ascolta il grido della mia preghiera.
2 Who turned an ear to me on the day I called.	2 Verso di me ha teso l'orecchio nel giorno in cui lo invocavo.
3 I was caught by the cords of death; the snares of Sheol had seized me; I felt agony and dread.	3 Mi stringevano funi di morte, ero preso nei lacci degli inferi. Mi opprimevano tristezza e angoscia
4 Then I called on the name of the LORD, "O LORD, save my life!"	4 e ho invocato il nome del Signore: "Ti prego, Signore, salvami".
5 Gracious is the LORD and just; yes, our God is merciful.	5 Buono e giusto è il Signore, il nostro Dio è misericordioso.
6 The LORD protects the simple; I was helpless, but God saved me.	6 Il Signore protegge gli umili: ero misero ed egli mi ha salvato.
7 Return, my soul, to your rest; the LORD has been good to you.	7 Ritorna, anima mia, alla tua pace, poiché il Signore ti ha beneficato;
8 For my soul has been freed from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.	8 egli mi ha sottratto dalla morte, ha liberato i miei occhi dalle lacrime, ha preservato i miei piedi dalla caduta.
9 I shall walk before the LORD in the land of the living.	9 Camminerò alla presenza del Signore sulla terra dei viventi.
10 I kept faith, even when I said, "I am greatly afflicted!"	10 Alleluia. Ho creduto anche quando dicevo: "Sono troppo infelice".
11 I said in my alarm, "No one can be trusted!"	11 Ho detto con sgomento: "Ogni uomo è inganno".
12 How can I repay the LORD for all the good done for me?	12 Che cosa renderò al Signore per quanto mi ha dato?
13 I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.	13 Alzerò il calice della salvezza e invocherò il nome del Signore.
14 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people.	14 Adempirò i miei voti al Signore, davanti a tutto il suo popolo.
15 Too costly in the eyes of the LORD is the death of his faithful.	15 Preziosa agli occhi del Signore è la morte dei suoi fedeli.
16 LORD, I am your servant, your servant, the child of your maidservant; you have loosed my bonds.	16 Sì, io sono il tuo servo, Signore, io sono tuo servo, figlio della tua ancella; hai spezzato le mie catene.
17 I will offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the LORD.	17 A te offrirò sacrifici di lode e invocherò il nome del Signore.
18 I will pay my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people,	18 Adempirò i miei voti al Signore e davanti a tutto il suo popolo,
19 In the courts of the house of the LORD, in your midst, O Jerusalem. Hallelujah!	19 negli atri della casa del Signore, in mezzo a te, Gerusalemme.
