1 The descendants of Aaron also were divided into classes. The sons of Aaron were Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.	1 Was sodann die Nachkommen Aarons betrifft, so waren ihre Abteilungen folgende: Die Söhne Aarons waren: Nadab und Abihu, Eleasar und Ithamar.
2 Nadab and Abihu died before their father, leaving no sons; therefore only Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.	2 Nadab und Abihu starben jedoch vor ihrem Vater, ohne Söhne zu hinterlassen; daher übten Eleasar und Ithamar den Priesterdienst allein aus.
3 David, with Zadok, a descendant of Eleazar, and Ahimelech, a descendant of Ithamar, assigned the functions for the priestly service.	3 David teilte sie nun, im Einvernehmen mit Zadok von den Nachkommen (= aus dem Geschlecht) Eleasars und mit Ahimelech von den Nachkommen Ithamars, in Klassen ein je nach ihrem Amt bei ihrer Dienstleistung.
4 But since the descendants of Eleazar were found to be more numerous than those of Ithamar, the former were divided into sixteen groups, and the latter into eight groups, each under its family head.	4 Dabei stellte es sich nun heraus, daß die Nachkommen Eleasars an Familienhäuptern zahlreicher waren als die Nachkommen Ithamars; daher teilte man sie so ab, daß auf die Nachkommen Eleasars sechzehn, auf die Nachkommen Ithamars acht Familienhäupter kamen.
5 Their functions were assigned impartially by lot, for there were officers of the holy place, and officers of the divine presence, descended both from Eleazar and from Ithamar.	5 Man teilte sie aber, die einen wie die anderen, durch Lose ab; denn sowohl unter Eleasars als auch unter Ithamars Nachkommen gab es ›Fürsten (oder: Oberpriester) des Heiligtums‹ und ›Fürsten (oder: Oberpriester) Gottes‹;
6 The scribe Shemaiah, son of Nethanel, a Levite, made a record of it in the presence of the king, and of the leaders, of Zadok the priest, and of Ahimelech, son of Abiathar, and of the heads of the ancestral houses of the priests and of the Levites, listing two successive family groups from Eleazar before each one from Ithamar.	6 und Semaja, der Sohn Nethaneels, der Schriftführer unter den Leviten, schrieb sie in Gegenwart des Königs und der Fürsten sowie des Priesters Zadok und Ahimelechs, des Sohnes Abjathars, und der Familienhäupter der Priester und der Leviten auf: je eine Familie wurde für Ithamar ausgelost, und dann wurde je zweimal eine für Eleasar ausgelost.

19 This was the appointed order of their service when they functioned in the house of the LORD in keeping with the precepts given them by Aaron, their father, as the LORD, the God of Israel, had commanded him.	19 Dies war ihre Klassenordnung für ihren Dienst, damit sie entsprechend der durch ihren Ahnherrn Aaron für sie bestimmten Verordnung in den Tempel des HERRN einträten, wie der HERR, der Gott Israels, ihm geboten hatte.

21 Isshiah, the chief, of the descendants of Rehabiah;	21 von den Nachkommen Rehabjas war Jissia das Oberhaupt. –
22 Shelomith of the Izharites, and Jahath of the descendants of Shelomith.	22 Von den Jizhariten: Selomoth, von den Nachkommen Selomoths: Jahath. –
23 The descendants of Hebron were Jeriah, the chief, Amariah, the second, Jahaziel, the third, Jekameam, the fourth.	23 Die Nachkommen Hebrons waren: Jerija das Oberhaupt, Amarja der zweite, Jahasiel (oder: Ussiel) der dritte, Jekameam der vierte. –
24 The descendants of Uzziel were Micah; Shamir, of the descendants of Micah;	24 Die Nachkommen Ussiels waren: Micha; von den Nachkommen Michas: Samir.
25 Isshiah, the brother of Micah; and Zechariah, a descendant of Isshiah.	25 Michas Bruder war Jissia; von den Nachkommen Jissias: Sacharja. –
26 The descendants of Merari were Mahli, Mushi, and the descendants of his son Uzziah.	26 Die Nachkommen Meraris waren: Mahli und Musi und die Nachkommen seines Sohnes Jaasia.
27 The descendants of Merari through his son Uzziah: Shoham, Zaccur, and Ibri.	27 Die Nachkommen Meraris von seinem Sohne Ussia waren: Soham, Sakkur und Ibri;
28 Descendants of Mahli were Eleazar, who had no sons,	28 von Mahli: Eleasar, der aber keine Söhne hatte, und Kis;
29 and Jerahmeel, of the descendants of Kish.	29 von Kis: die Söhne des Kis: Jerahmeel.
30 The descendants of Mushi were Mahli, Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the descendants of the Levites according to their ancestral houses.	30 Die Nachkommen Musis waren: Mahli, Eder und Jerimoth. Dies waren die Nachkommen der Leviten nach ihren Familien. –
31 They too, in the same manner as their relatives, the descendants of Aaron, cast lots in the presence of King David, Zadok, Ahimelech, and the heads of the priestly and levitical families; the more important family did so in the same way as the less important one.	31 Auch sie wurden ausgelost ganz wie ihre Stammesgenossen, die Nachkommen Aarons, in Gegenwart des Königs David und Zadoks und Ahimelechs sowie der Familienhäupter der Priester und der Leviten, und zwar die Familienhäupter ganz ebenso wie ihre jüngsten (oder: geringsten) Stammesgenossen.
