1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).	1 Questa è la posterità di Esaù, che è Edom.
2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;	2 Esaù prese le sue mogli tra le figlie dei Cananei: Ada, figlia di Elon, l'hittita; Oolibama, figlia di Ana, figlio di Zibeon, l'hurrita;
3 and Basemath, daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.	3 e Basemat, figlia di Ismaele, sorella di Nebaiot.
4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau; Basemath bore Reuel;	4 Ada partorì ad Esaù Elifaz, Basemat partorì Reuel,
5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These are the sons of Esau who were born to him in the land of Canaan.	5 e Oolibama partorì Ieus, Iaalam e Core. Questi sono i figli di Esaù, che gli nacquero nella terra di Canaan.
6 Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock comprising various animals and all the property he had acquired in the land of Canaan, and went to the land of Seir, out of the way of his brother Jacob.	6 Poi Esaù prese le sue mogli e i suoi figli e le sue figlie e tutte le persone della sua casa, i suoi greggi e tutto il suo bestiame e tutti i suoi beni che aveva acquistato nella terra di Canaan, e se ne andò in un paese lontano da suo fratello Giacobbe.
7 Their possessions had become too great for them to dwell together, and the land in which they were staying could not support them because of their livestock.	7 Infatti i loro possedimenti erano troppo grandi perché essi potessero abitare insieme, ed il territorio, dov'essi soggiornavano, non era loro sufficiente a motivo del loro bestiame.
8 So Esau settled in the highlands of Seir. (Esau is Edom.)	8 Così Esaù abitò sulla montagna di Seir. Or Esaù è Edom.
9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.	9 Questa è la posterità di Esaù, padre degli Edomiti, nella montagna di Seir.
10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.	10 Questi sono i nomi dei figli di Esaù: Elifaz, figlio di Ada, moglie di Esaù; Reuel, figlio di Basemat, moglie di Esaù.
11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.	11 I figli di Elifaz furono: Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gatam, Kenaz.
12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.	12 Elifaz, figlio di Esaù, aveva per concubina Timna, la quale ad Elifaz partorì Amalek. Questi sono i figli di Ada, moglie di Esaù.
13 The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These are the descendants of Esau's wife Basemath.	13 Questi sono i figli di Reuel: Naat e Zerach, Samma e Mizza. Questi furono i figli di Basemat, moglie di Esaù.
14 The descendants of Esau's wife Oholibamah--granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon--whom she bore to Esau were Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.	14 Questi furono i figli di Oolibama, moglie di Esaù, figlia di Ana, figlio di Zibeon; essa partorì a Esaù Ieus, Iaalam e Core.
15 The following are the clans of Esau's descendants. The descendants of Eliphaz, Esau's first-born: the clans of Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,	15 Questi sono i capi dei figli di Esaù. I figli di Elifaz primogenito di Esaù: il capo di Teman, il capo di Omar, il capo di Zefo, il capo di Kenaz,
16 Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. These are the clans of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; they are descended from Adah.	16 il capo di Core, il capo di Gatam, il capo di Amalek. Questi sono i capi di Elifaz nel paese di Edom: questi sono i figli di Ada.

20 The following are the descendants of Seir the Horite, the original settlers in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,	20 Questi sono i figli di Seir, l'hurrita, che abitano il paese: Lotan, Sobal, Zibeon, Ana,

33 When Bela died, Jobab, son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded him as king.	33 Bela morì e regnò al suo posto Iobab, figlio di Zerach, da Bozra.
34 When Jobab died, Husham, from the land of the Temanites, succeeded him as king. He defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab; the name of his city was Avith.	34 Iobab morì e regnò al suo posto Usam, del territorio dei Temaniti.
35 When Husham died, Hadad, son of Bedad, succeeded him as king.	35 Usam morì e regnò al suo posto Adad, figlio di Bedad, colui che vinse i Madianiti nelle steppe di Moab; la sua città si chiama Avit.
36 When Hadad died, Samlah, from Masrekah, succeeded him as king.	36 Adad morì e regnò al suo posto Samla da Masreka.
37 When Samlah died, Shaul, from Rehoboth-on-the-River, succeeded him as king.	37 Samla morì e regnò al suo posto Saul da Recobot-Naar.
38 When Shaul died, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, succeeded him as king.	38 Saul morì e regnò al suo posto Baal-Canan, figlio di Acbor.
39 When Baal-hanan died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau. (His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.)	39 Baal-Canan, figlio di Acbor, morì e regnò al suo posto Adar: la sua città si chiama Pau e la moglie si chiamava Meetabel, figlia di Matred, da Me-Zaab.
40 The following are the names of the clans of Esau individually according to their subdivisions and localities: the clans of Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,	40 Questi sono i nomi dei capi di Esaù, secondo le loro famiglie, le loro località, con i loro nomi: il capo di Timna, il capo di Alva, il capo di Ietet,
41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,	41 il capo di Oolibama, il capo di Ela, il capo di Pinon,
42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,	42 il capo di Kenaz, il capo di Teman, il capo di Mibsar,
43 Magdiel, and Iram. These are the clans of the Edomites, according to their settlements in their territorial holdings. (Esau was the father of the Edomites.)	43 il capo di Magdiel, il capo di Iram. Questi sono i capi di Edom secondo le loro sedi, nel territorio del loro possesso. E' appunto questo Esaù il padre degli Edomiti.
