1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.	1 Libro de la generación de Jesucristo, hijo de David, hijo de Abraham:
2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judas and his brethren;	2 Abraham engendró a Isaac, Isaac engendró a Jacob, Jacob engendró a Judá y a sus hermanos,
3 And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar; and Phares begat Esrom; and Esrom begat Aram;	3 Judá engrendró, de Tamar, a Fares y a Zara, Fares engendró a Esrom, Esrom engendró a Aram,
4 And Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson; and Naasson begat Salmon;	4 Aram engendró a Aminadab, Aminadab engrendró a Naassón, Naassón engendró a Salmón,
5 And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse;	5 Salmón engendró, de Rajab, a Booz, Booz engendró, de Rut, a Obed, Obed engendró a Jesé,
6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;	6 Jesé engendró al rey David. David engendró, de la que fue mujer de Urías, a Salomón,

9 And Ozias begat Joatham; and Joatham begat Achaz; and Achaz begat Ezekias;	9 Ozías engendró a Joatam, Joatam engendró a Acaz, Acaz engendró a Ezequías,
10 And Ezekias begat Manasses; and Manasses begat Amon; and Amon begat Josias;	10 Ezequías engendró a Manasés, Manasés engendró a Amón, Amón engendró a Josías,
11 And Josias begat Jechonias and his brethren, about the time they were carried away to Babylon:	11 Josías engendró a Jeconías y a sus hermanos, cuando la deportación a Babilonia.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon, Jechonias begat Salathiel; and Salathiel begat Zorobabel;	12 Después de la deportación a Babilonia, Jeconías engendró a Salatiel, Salatiel engendró a Zorobabel,
13 And Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;	13 Zorobabel engendró a Abiud, Abiud engendró a Eliakim, Eliakim engendró a Azor,
14 And Azor begat Sadoc; and Sadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud;	14 Azor engendró a Sadoq, Sadoq engendró a Aquim, Aquim engendró a Eliud,
15 And Eliud begat Eleazar; and Eleazar begat Matthan; and Matthan begat Jacob;	15 Eliud engendró a Eleazar, Eleazar engendró a Mattán, Mattán engendró a Jacob,
16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.	16 y Jacob engendró a José, el esposo de María, de la que nació Jesús, llamado Cristo.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.	17 Así que el total de las generaciones son: desde Abraham hasta David, catorce generaciones; desde David hasta la deportación a Babilonia, catorce generaciones; desde la deportación a Babilonia hasta Cristo, catorce generaciones.
18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.	18 La generación de Jesucristo fue de esta manera: Su madre, María, estaba desposada con José y, antes de empezar a estar juntos ellos, se encontró encinta por obra del Espíritu Santo.
19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.	19 Su marido José, como era justo y no quería ponerla en evidencia, resolvió repudiarla en secreto.
20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.	20 Así lo tenía planeado, cuando el Angel del Señor se le apareció en sueños y le dijo: «José, hijo de David, no temas tomar contigo a María tu mujer porque lo engendrado en ella es del Espíritu Santo.
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.	21 Dará a luz un hijo, y tú le pondrás por nombre Jesús, porque él salvará a su pueblo de sus pecados».
22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,	22 Todo esto sucedió para que se cumpliese el oráculo del Señor por medio del profeta:
23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.	23 Ved que la virgen concebirá y dará a luz un hijo, y le pondrán por nombre Emmanuel, que traducido significa: «Dios con nosotros».
24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:	24 Despertado José del sueño, hizo como el Angel del Señor le había mandado, y tomó consigo a su mujer.
25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.	25 Y no la conocía hasta que ella dio a luz un hijo, y le puso por nombre Jesús.
