Proverbs 7

KING JAMES BIBLE	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.	1 Figlio mio, custodisci le mie parole, conserva presso di te i miei precetti.
2 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.	2 Custodisci i miei precetti e tu vivrai, e il mio insegnamento come la pupilla dei tuoi occhi.
3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.	3 Attaccali alle tue dita, scrivili sulla tavoletta del tuo cuore.
4 Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:	4 Di' alla sapienza: "Tu sei la mia sorella", chiama "amica" l'intelligenza,
5 That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.	5 per custodirti dalla donna altrui, dall'estranea, che adopera parole seducenti.
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,	6 Alla finestra della mia casa, attraverso il mio cancelletto io spiavo
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,	7 e ho visto tra gli ingenui, ho scorto tra i figlioli un giovane povero di spirito.
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,	8 Passando per la strada dietro l'angolo, si incamminava verso la sua casa,
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:	9 al crepuscolo, dopo il tramontar del giorno, nel cuore della notte e dell'oscurità.
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.	10 Ecco una donna incontro a lui, cortigiana nel vestito, astuta nella mente,
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:	11 garrula e irrequieta, in casa i suoi piedi non ci sanno stare;
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)	12 ora sulla strada, ora nelle piazze e dietro a tutti gli angoli sta in agguato.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,	13 Lo tira a sé, lo stringe; con un fare sfrontato gli dice:
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.	14 "Avevo da far dei sacrifici; proprio oggi ho adempiuto i miei voti;
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.	15 per questo sono uscita e ti son venuta incontro, col desiderio di incontrarti e ti ho trovato.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.	16 Con drappi ho adornato il mio giaciglio, con tappeti di stoffa egiziana.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.	17 Ho cosparso il mio letto di mirra, di aloè e di cinnamomo.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.	18 Vieni! Inebriamoci d'amore fino al mattino, godiamo insieme nel piacere.
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:	19 Non c'è il marito in casa, è partito per un lontano viaggio;
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.	20 la borsa dell'argento ha portato via con sé, soltanto al plenilunio farà ritorno a casa!".
21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.	21 A furia di insistere lo piega, con le lusinghe delle sue labbra lo seduce.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;	22 Andando dietro a lei lo scioccherello, è condotto come un bue al macello e come un cervo che è preso al laccio,
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.	23 finché una spina non gli trafigge il fegato; come si affretta un uccello alla rete e ignora che è in gioco la sua vita.
24 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.	24 E ora, figlio mio, ascoltami, fa' attenzione alle parole di mia bocca:
25 Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.	25 non devii il tuo cuore, seguendo le sue strade, non ti smarrire mai sui suoi sentieri.
26 For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.	26 Molti sono stati da lei feriti a morte, i più robusti sono stati le sue vittime.
27 Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.	27 Via degli inferi è la sua casa, discesa ai palazzi della morte!
