Psalms 111

1 Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.	1 Felice l'uomo che teme il Signore e pone nei suoi comandamenti ogni suo diletto.
2 The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.	2 Potente sulla terra sarà la sua stirpe; la progenie dei giusti sarà benedetta.
3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.	3 Gloria e ricchezze saran nella sua casa, e la giustizia di lui rimane nei secoli dei secoli.
4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.	4 Per gli uomini retti sorge fra le tenebre come luce il misericordioso, il benigno, il giusto.
5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.	5 Fortunato l'uomo che è pietoso e presta: regolerà i suoi affari con senno,
6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.	6 Perchè non si turberà mai.
7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.	7 Il giusto sarà ricordato in eterno, nè avrà da temere cattiva fama, il suo cuore è disposto a sperare nel Signore,
8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.	8 Il suo cuore è saldo e senza paura, e giungerà a guardar dall'alto i suoi nemici.
9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.	9 A piene mani ha dato ai poveri, la sua giustizia rimane in eterno, la sua potenza si alzerà fino alla gloria.
10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.	10 Il peccatore al vederlo ne avrà dispetto, digrignerà i denti e si roderà; ma il desiderio degli empi andrà in fumo.
