Job 12

1 And Job answered and said,	1 Ma Giobbe rispose, e disse:
2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.	2 Dunque soli voi siete uomini, e con voi morrà la saggezza?
3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you: yea, who knoweth not such things as these?	3 Io pure ho un cuore come voi, né a voi la cedo; perocché chi non sa queste cose, che voi sapete?
4 I am as one mocked of his neighbour, who calleth upon God, and he answereth him: the just upright man is laughed to scorn.	4 Chi del proprio amico soffre, com'io, gli scherni, invochi Dio, ed egli lo esaudirà; perocché la semplicità del giusto è derisa.
5 He that is ready to slip with his feet is as a lamp despised in the thought of him that is at ease.	5 Egli è una lampana di nissun pregio nel concetto dei ricchi, ma preparata pel tempo stabilito.
6 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.	6 Le tende de' ladroni nuotano nell'abbondanza, ed eglino audaci provocano Dio, mentre egli di tutte quelle cose gli ha fatti padroni.
7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee:	7 Or tu interroga i giumenti, e ti insegneranno, gli uccelli dell'aria, e ti daranno lezione.
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.	8 L'aria alla terra, ed ella ti risponderà, ed anche i pesci del mare ti istruiranno.
9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?	9 Chi non sa come tutte queste cose le fece la man del Signore?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.	10 Egli ha in sua mano l'anima d'ogni vivente, e lo spirito di ogni uomo composto di carne.
11 Doth not the ear try words? and the mouth taste his meat?	11 Non è egli l'orecchio, che è giudice delle parole, come de' sapori il palato dell'uom che mangia?
12 With the ancient is wisdom; and in length of days understanding.	12 Ne' vecchi sta la sapienza, e nella lunga età la prudenza.
13 With him is wisdom and strength, he hath counsel and understanding.	13 In lui è la sapienza, e la fortezza, in lui il buon consiglio, e l'intelligenza.
14 Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.	14 Se egli distrugge, nissuno edifica, se egli rinchiude un uomo nissuno gli aprirà.
15 Behold, he withholdeth the waters, and they dry up: also he sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.	15 Se ei rattiene le acque inaridisce ogni cosa, se scioglie ad esse il freno, sommergeranno la terra.
16 With him is strength and wisdom: the deceived and the deceiver are his.	16 Con lui si sia la sapienza, e la fortezza, egli conosce l'ingannatore, e colui che è ingannato.
17 He leadeth counsellers away spoiled, and maketh the judges fools.	17 Gli uomini di consiglio conduce a finire da insensati, e stolidi rende quelli, che amministrano la giustizia.
18 He looseth the bond of kings, and girdeth their loins with a girdle.	18 Spoglia i regi del cingolo, e i loro fianchi lega con fune.
19 He leadeth princes away spoiled, and overthroweth the mighty.	19 Privi di gloria ne mena i sacerdoti, e getta a terra i campioni:
20 He removeth away the speech of the trusty, and taketh away the understanding of the aged.	20 Cambia le parole in bocca agli uomini fidati, e a' vecchi toglie il sapere.
21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and weakeneth the strength of the mighty.	21 Fa cadere il dispregio sopra de' principi, e rialza gli oppressi.
22 He discovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.	22 Ei rivela le cose sepolte nelle tenebre, e illumina l'ombra di morte.
23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them: he enlargeth the nations, and straiteneth them again.	23 Egli fa crescere le nazioni, e le stermina, e sterminate le ritorna nel primo stato.
24 He taketh away the heart of the chief of the people of the earth, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.	24 Egli cambia il cuore de' principi signori dei popoli della terra, e gli inganna, perché camminino inutilmente dove strada non è:
25 They grope in the dark without light, and he maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.	25 Anderanno tentoni come fosse di notte, e non di giorno, e farà che vadano errando come ubbriachi.
