LXXKING JAMES BIBLE
μετα τουτο ηνοιξεν ιωβ το στομα αυτου1 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day.
και κατηρασατο την ημεραν αυτου λεγων2 And Job spake, and said,
απολοιτο η ημερα εν η εγεννηθην και η νυξ εν η ειπαν ιδου αρσεν3 Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived.
η ημερα εκεινη ειη σκοτος και μη αναζητησαι αυτην ο κυριος ανωθεν μηδε ελθοι εις αυτην φεγγος4 Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it.
εκλαβοι δε αυτην σκοτος και σκια θανατου επελθοι επ' αυτην γνοφος5 Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.
καταραθειη η ημερα και η νυξ εκεινη απενεγκαιτο αυτην σκοτος μη ειη εις ημερας ενιαυτου μηδε αριθμηθειη εις ημερας μηνων6 As for that night, let darkness seize upon it; let it not be joined unto the days of the year, let it not come into the number of the months.
αλλα η νυξ εκεινη ειη οδυνη και μη ελθοι επ' αυτην ευφροσυνη μηδε χαρμονη7 Lo, let that night be solitary, let no joyful voice come therein.
αλλα καταρασαιτο αυτην ο καταρωμενος την ημεραν εκεινην ο μελλων το μεγα κητος χειρωσασθαι8 Let them curse it that curse the day, who are ready to raise up their mourning.
σκοτωθειη τα αστρα της νυκτος εκεινης υπομειναι και εις φωτισμον μη ελθοι και μη ιδοι εωσφορον ανατελλοντα9 Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark; let it look for light, but have none; neither let it see the dawning of the day:
οτι ου συνεκλεισεν πυλας γαστρος μητρος μου απηλλαξεν γαρ αν πονον απο οφθαλμων μου10 Because it shut not up the doors of my mother's womb, nor hid sorrow from mine eyes.
δια τι γαρ εν κοιλια ουκ ετελευτησα εκ γαστρος δε εξηλθον και ουκ ευθυς απωλομην11 Why died I not from the womb? why did I not give up the ghost when I came out of the belly?
ινα τι δε συνηντησαν μοι γονατα ινα τι δε μαστους εθηλασα12 Why did the knees prevent me? or why the breasts that I should suck?
νυν αν κοιμηθεις ησυχασα υπνωσας δε ανεπαυσαμην13 For now should I have lain still and been quiet, I should have slept: then had I been at rest,
μετα βασιλεων βουλευτων γης οι ηγαυριωντο επι ξιφεσιν14 With kings and counsellers of the earth, which built desolate places for themselves;
η μετα αρχοντων ων πολυς ο χρυσος οι επλησαν τους οικους αυτων αργυριου15 Or with princes that had gold, who filled their houses with silver:
η ωσπερ εκτρωμα εκπορευομενον εκ μητρας μητρος η ωσπερ νηπιοι οι ουκ ειδον φως16 Or as an hidden untimely birth I had not been; as infants which never saw light.
εκει ασεβεις εξεκαυσαν θυμον οργης εκει ανεπαυσαντο κατακοποι τω σωματι17 There the wicked cease from troubling; and there the weary be at rest.
ομοθυμαδον δε οι αιωνιοι ουκ ηκουσαν φωνην φορολογου18 There the prisoners rest together; they hear not the voice of the oppressor.
μικρος και μεγας εκει εστιν και θεραπων ου δεδοικως τον κυριον αυτου19 The small and great are there; and the servant is free from his master.
ινα τι γαρ δεδοται τοις εν πικρια φως ζωη δε ταις εν οδυναις ψυχαις20 Wherefore is light given to him that is in misery, and life unto the bitter in soul;
οι ομειρονται του θανατου και ου τυγχανουσιν ανορυσσοντες ωσπερ θησαυρους21 Which long for death, but it cometh not; and dig for it more than for hid treasures;
περιχαρεις δε εγενοντο εαν κατατυχωσιν22 Which rejoice exceedingly, and are glad, when they can find the grave?
θανατος ανδρι αναπαυμα συνεκλεισεν γαρ ο θεος κατ' αυτου23 Why is light given to a man whose way is hid, and whom God hath hedged in?
προ γαρ των σιτων μου στεναγμος μοι ηκει δακρυω δε εγω συνεχομενος φοβω24 For my sighing cometh before I eat, and my roarings are poured out like the waters.
φοβος γαρ ον εφροντισα ηλθεν μοι και ον εδεδοικειν συνηντησεν μοι25 For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.
ουτε ειρηνευσα ουτε ησυχασα ουτε ανεπαυσαμην ηλθεν δε μοι οργη26 I was not in safety, neither had I rest, neither was I quiet; yet trouble came.
