Hosea 12

EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Mit Lügen umzingelt mich Efraim, mit Betrug das Haus Israel. [Aber Juda hält auch in der Fremde zu Gott und bleibt dem Hochheiligen treu.]	1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)
2 Efraim weidet den Wind, immer läuft es dem Ostwind nach. Es häuft Lüge auf Lüge, Gewalt auf Gewalt. Es schließt mit Assur ein Bündnis und liefert Öl nach Ägypten.	2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.
3 Darum geht der Herr mit Israel ins Gericht, er straft Jakob für sein Verhalten und zahlt ihm heim, wie es seine Taten verdienen.	3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.
4 Schon im Mutterleib hinterging er seinen Bruder, und als er ein Mann war, rang er mit Gott.	4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.
5 [Er wurde Herr über den Engel und siegte.] Weinend flehte er ihn um Gnade an. Er fand ihn in Bet-El und dort sprach er mit ihm.	5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-
6 Der Herr, der Gott der Heere, dessen Name Jahwe ist, (sagte:)	6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!
7 Du wirst mit Hilfe deines Gottes heimkehren; bewahre die Liebe und das Recht und hoffe immer auf deinen Gott!	7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.
8 Doch dieser Händler hat eine falsche Waage in der Hand, er liebt den Betrug.	8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.
9 Efraim sagt: Ich bin reich geworden und habe mir ein Vermögen erworben. Nichts, was ich erwarb, gilt mir als Unrecht und Sünde.	9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.
10 Aber ich, der Herr, dein Gott, seit der Zeit in Ägypten, ich lasse dich wieder in Zelten wohnen wie in den Tagen der (ersten) Begegnung.	10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.
11 Ich rede zu den Propheten, ich lasse sie viele Visionen sehen und durch die Propheten sende ich Vernichtung.	11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.
12 Schon in Gilead beging man Verbrechen und auch jetzt handeln sie völlig verkehrt. Sie opfern in Gilgal den Stieren; darum werden auch ihre Altäre den Steinhaufen gleichen, die man neben den Äckern aufhäuft.	12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.
13 Jakob floh in die Gegend von Aram; wegen eines Weibes wurde Israel zum Knecht, wegen eines Weibes hütete er Schafe.	13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.
14 Aber durch einen Propheten führte der Herr Israel aus Ägypten heraus und durch einen Propheten wurde es behütet.	14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.
15 Efraim hat Gott bitter gekränkt, darum wird sein Herr ihn die Blutschuld büßen lassen und ihm die Beschimpfung heimzahlen.	15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
