Ezechiel 19

1 Du aber, stimm die Totenklage an über den Fürsten von Israel	1 Moreover take thou up a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2 und sag: Was war doch deine Mutter für eine Löwin unter den Löwen! Bei jungen Löwen hatte sie ihr Lager und zog ihren Nachwuchs auf.	2 And say, What is thy mother? A lioness: she lay down among lions, she nourished her whelps among young lions.
3 Eins von ihren Jungen zog sie groß und es wurde ein starker Löwe.Er lernte, zu reißen und zu rauben, er fraß Menschen.	3 And she brought up one of her whelps: it became a young lion, and it learned to catch the prey; it devoured men.
4 Da bot man Völker gegen ihn auf. In ihrer Grube fingen sie ihn und schleppten ihn an Haken ins Land Ägypten.	4 The nations also heard of him; he was taken in their pit, and they brought him with chains unto the land of Egypt.
5 Als sie sah, dass ihre Hoffnung vereitelt, dass sie zunichte war, nahm sie von ihren Jungen ein anderes und machte es zum starken Löwen.	5 Now when she saw that she had waited, and her hope was lost, then she took another of her whelps, and made him a young lion.
6 Er tummelte sich unter den Löwen und wurde ein starker Löwe. Er lernte zu reißen und zu rauben, er fraß Menschen.	6 And he went up and down among the lions, he became a young lion, and learned to catch the prey, and devoured men.
7 Er zerbrach ihre Burgen und verheerte ihre Städte; das Land, und was in ihm lebte, entsetzte sich bei seinem lauten Gebrüll.	7 And he knew their desolate palaces, and he laid waste their cities; and the land was desolate, and the fulness thereof, by the noise of his roaring.
8 Da setzte man Völker gegen ihn ein aus den Ländern ringsum. Sie warfen ihr Netz über ihn; in ihrer Grube fingen sie ihn.	8 Then the nations set against him on every side from the provinces, and spread their net over him: he was taken in their pit.
9 Sie zerrten ihn an Haken in einen Käfig und brachten ihn zum König von Babel, [sie brachten ihn in Gewahrsam,] damit man seine Stimme nicht mehr hörte auf Israels Bergen.	9 And they put him in ward in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon: they brought him into holds, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.
10 Deine Mutter war wie ein Weinstock im Garten, der am Wasser gepflanzt ist. Voll von Früchten und Ranken war er wegen des Reichtums an Wasser.	10 Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters.
11 Er hatte kräftige Zweige, für Zepter von Herrschern geeignet; sein Wuchs war hoch, er ragte bis in die Wolken. Weithin war er sichtbar wegen seiner Höhe und wegen seines dichten Laubes.	11 And she had strong rods for the sceptres of them that bare rule, and her stature was exalted among the thick branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
12 Doch im Zorn riss man ihn aus und warf ihn auf die Erde. Der Ostwind dörrte ihn aus, seine Früchte riss man ab. Sein kräftiger Stamm verdorrte. Feuer verzehrte ihn.	12 But she was plucked up in fury, she was cast down to the ground, and the east wind dried up her fruit: her strong rods were broken and withered; the fire consumed them.
13 Nun verpflanzte man ihn in die Wüste, in trockenes, dürstendes Land.	13 And now she is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty ground.
14 Und Feuer ging aus von den Zweigen am Stamm und fraß seine Früchte. Kein kräftiger Zweig war mehr an ihm, kein Zepter für Herrscher. - Eine Totenklage ist dieses Lied; zur Totenklage ist es geworden.	14 And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath devoured her fruit, so that she hath no strong rod to be a sceptre to rule. This is a lamentation, and shall be for a lamentation.
