1 Toi qui demeures au refuge du Très-Haut et qui te loges à l’ombre du Puissant,	1 A Canticle Psalm. On the day of the Sabbath.
2 dis au Seigneur: “Tu es mon abri, mon rempart, mon Dieu en qui je me confie!”	2 It is good to confess to the Lord and to sing psalms to your name, O Most High:
3 Il te fera échapper au filet du chasseur, il te protégera des démons du malheur.	3 to announce your mercy in the morning, and your truth throughout the night,
4 Il te couvrira de son plumage et tu te serreras au creux de son aile.	4 upon the ten strings, upon the psaltery, with a canticle, upon stringed instruments.
5 Tu ne craindras pas, de nuit, la terreur, ni de jour, la flèche qui vole,	5 For you, O Lord, have delighted me with your doings, and I will exult in the works of your hands.
6 ni le fléau qui s’avance dans le noir, ni la peste qui frappe en plein midi.	6 How great are your works, O Lord! Your thoughts have been made exceedingly deep.
7 Mille, peut-être, tomberont près de toi, dix mille, rien qu’à ta droite, mais tu seras hors d’atteinte, 4c sa fidélité sera ton mur, ton bouclier.	7 A foolish man will not know these things, and a senseless one will not understand:
8 Ouvre les yeux et regarde: tu verras ce qu’on rend aux méchants!	8 when sinners will have risen up like grass, and when all those who work iniquity will have appeared, that they shall pass away, age after age.
9 Mais toi, tu as le Seigneur pour refuge, tu as fait du Très-Haut ton asile.	9 But you, O Lord, are the Most High for all eternity.
10 Le mal ne t’atteindra pas, la plaie ne frappera pas jusqu’à toi.	10 For behold your enemies, O Lord, for behold your enemies will perish, and all those who work iniquity will be dispersed.
11 Car il donnera un ordre à ses anges, pour qu’ils t’escortent sur tous tes chemins.	11 And my horn will be exalted like that of the single-horned beast, and my old age will be exalted in fruitful mercy.
12 Dans leurs mains ils te porteront pour que ton pied ne bute pas sur la pierre.	12 And my eye has looked down upon my enemies, and my ear will hear of the malignant rising up against me.
13 Tu passeras sur les fauves et les serpents, tu piétineras le jeune lion et le dragon.	13 The just one will flourish like the palm tree. He will be multiplied like the cedar of Lebanon.
14 “Puisqu’il s’est lié à moi, je le délivrerai, je veux le protéger, car il a connu mon Nom.	14 Those planted in the house of the Lord will flourish in the courts of the house of our God.
15 Qu’il m’appelle, je lui répondrai, je serai avec lui dans l’angoisse; je le sauverai, je lui donnerai la gloire.	15 They will still be multiplied in a fruitful old age, and they will endure well,
16 J’allongerai ses jours autant qu’il le désire, et je ferai qu’il voie mon salut.”	16 so that they may announce that the Lord our God is righteous and that there is no iniquity in him.
