2 Fils de Japhet: Gomer, Magog, les Mèdes, Yavan, Toubal, Méchek, Tiras. | 2 The sons of Japheth were Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. |
3 Fils de Gomer: Achkénaz, Riphat, Togorma. | 3 And then the sons of Gomer were Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah. |
4 Fils de Yavan: Élicha, Tarsis, Kittim, les Dananéens. | 4 And the sons of Javan were Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Rodanim. |
5 C’est à partir d’eux que se fit la dispersion dans les îles lointaines. Ce sont là les fils de Japhet d’après leurs pays, selon leurs langues, leurs clans et leurs nations. | 5 The islands of the Gentiles were divided by these into their regions, each one according to his tongue, and their families in their nations. |
6 Fils de Kam: Kouch, Misraïm, Pout, Canaan. | 6 And the Sons of Ham were Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan. |

10 Ceux qui soutenaient son empire étaient: Babel, Érek, et Akkad. Toutes ces villes sont au pays de Chinéar. | 10 And so, the beginning of his kingdom was Babylon, and Erech, and Accad, and Chalanne, in the land of Shinar. |
11 De ce pays sortit Assur, c’est lui qui construisit Ninive, Réhobot-Ir, Kala | 11 From that land, Assur came forth, and he built Nineveh, and the streets of the city, and Calah, |
12 et Résèn entre Ninive et Kala (c’est une grande ville). | 12 and also Resen, between Nineveh and Calah. This is a great city. |
13 Misraïm engendra les gens de Loud, d’Anam, de Léhab, de Naftou, | 13 And truly, Mizraim conceived Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, Naphtuhim, |
14 de Patros, de Kaslou et de Kaftor, d’où sont sortis les Philistins. | 14 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim, from whom came forth the Philistines and the Caphtorim. |
15 Canaan engendra Sidon qui fut son premier-né, puis Heth, | 15 Then Canaan conceived Sidon his firstborn, the Hittite, |
16 et le Jébusite, l’Amorite, le Guirgachite, | 16 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, the Girgashite, |
17 le Hivvite, l’Arkite, le Sinite, | 17 the Hivite, and the Arkite: the Sinite, |

20 Ce sont là les fils de Kam, selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations. | 20 These are the sons of Ham in their kindred, and tongues, and generations, and lands, and nations. |
21 Sem eut également une descendance. Il est l’ancêtre de tous les fils de Éber et le frère aîné de Japhet. | 21 Likewise, from Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the elder brother of Japheth, sons were born. |

27 Adoram, Ouzal, Dikla, | 27 and Hadoram, and Uzal and Diklah, |
28 Obal, Abimaël, Chéba, | 28 and Obal and Abimael, Sheba |
29 Ofir, Havila, Yobab. Ce sont là tous les fils de Yoktan. | 29 and Ophir, and Havilah and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan. |
30 Ils habitaient à partir de Mécha en allant vers Séfar, la montagne de l’Orient. | 30 And their habitation extended from Messa, as one sojourns, even to Sephar, a mountain in the east. |
31 Ce sont les fils de Sem selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations. | 31 These are the sons of Shem according to their kindred, and tongues, and the regions within their nations. |
32 Voilà les descendants de Noé selon leurs lignées et leurs nations. C’est à partir d’eux que les peuples se dispersèrent sur la terre après le déluge. | 32 These are the families of Noah, according to their peoples and nations. The nations became divided according to these, on the earth after the great flood. |
