| 1 ܘܗܘܐ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܗܠܝܢ ܘܚܪܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܐܘܒܕ ܐܢܘܢ ܘܢܣܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܚܘܛܐ ܕܡܫܘܚܬܐ ܡܢ ܐܝܕܐ ܕܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܢܣܒ ܠܓܬ ܘܠܟܦܪ̈ܘܢܝܗ̇ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܩܕܩ̈ܐ ܕܚܕܝܪܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ̇ ܡܢ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ | 1 After this David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and he took Gath and its villages out of the hand of the Philistines. |
| 2 ܘܚܪܒ ܠܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܘܗܘܘ ܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܥܒ̣ܕ̈ܐ ܫܩ̈ܝܠܝ ܡܕܐܬܐ | 2 And he defeated Moab, and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute. |
| 3 ܘܩܛܠ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܢܨܝܒܝܢ ܟܕ ܐܙܠ ܣܡ ܬܚܘܡܐ ܒܢܗܪܐ ܦܪܬ | 3 David also defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, toward Hamath, as he went to set up his monument at the river Euphrates. |
| 4 ܘܐܚܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܡܢܗ ܐܠܦ ܙܘܓ̈ܝܢ ܘܫܒܥܐ ܐܠܦ̈ܝܢ ܦܪ̈ܫܝܢ ܘܥܩܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܙܘܓ̈ܐ ܘܫܒܩ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܡܐܐ ܙܘܓܝ̈ܢ | 4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but left enough for a hundred chariots. |
| 5 ܘܐܬܘ ܐܢܫ̈ܝ ܐܕܘܡ ܘܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܠܡܥܕܪܘ ܠܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܢܨܝܒܝܢ ܘܩܛܠ ܕܘܝܕ ܡܢ ܐܕܘܡ ܥܣܪܝܢ ܘܬܪܝܢ ܐܠܦ̈ܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ | 5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians. |
| 6 ܘܐܩܝܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܢܐ ܒܕܪܡܣܘܩ ܘܗܘܘ ܕܪ̈ܡܘܣܩܝܐ ܥܒ̣ܕ̈ܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܫܩ̈ܝܠܝ ܡܕܐܬܐ ܘܦܪܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܒܟܠ ܕܘܟܐ ܕܐܙܠ | 6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went. |
| 7 ܘܫܩܠ ܕܘܝܕ ܫ̈ܠܛܐ ܕܕܗܒܐ ܕܗܘܘ ܬܠܝܢ ܥܠ ܪ̈ܟܫܐ ܕܥܒ̣̈ܕܘܗܝ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ | 7 And David took the shields of gold which were carried by the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem. |
| 8 ܘܡܢ ܛܒܚ ܘܡܢ ܒܪܘܬܝ ܩܘܪ̈ܝܐ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܢܣܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܢܚܫܐ ܕܣܓܝ ܛܒ ܘܡܢܗ ܥܒܕ ܕܘܝܕ ܝܡܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܐܣ̈ܛܘܢܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܬܘܪ̈ܐ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܢܚܫܐ ܣܘܓܐܐ ܕܛܒ | 8 And from Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze; with it Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars and the vessels of bronze. |
| 9 ܘܫܡܥ ܦܘܠ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܐܢܛܝܘ̈ܟܝܐ ܕܚܪܒ ܕܘܝܕ ܚܝܠܘ̈ܬܐ ܕܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܢܨܝܒܝܢ | 9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had defeated the whole army of Hadadezer, king of Zobah, |
| 10 ܘܫܕܪ ܠܝܘܪܡ ܒܪܗ ܠܘܬ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܫܐܠ ܒܫܠܡܗ ܘܠܡܒܪܟܘܬܗ ܥܠ ܕܐܬܟܬܫ ܥܡ ܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܘܩܛܠܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܓܒܪܐ ܗܘܐ ܩܪܒܬܢܐ ܗܘ ܗܕܪܥܙܪ ܘܒܐܝܕܗ ܕܝܘܪܡ ܗܘܘ ܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܕܗܒܐ ܘܡܐ̈ܢܝ ܢܚܫܐ | 10 he sent his son Hadoram to King David, to greet him, and to congratulate him because he had fought against Hadadezer and defeated him; for Hadadezer had often been at war with Tou. And he sent all sorts of articles of gold, of silver, and of bronze; |
| 11 ܘܐܦ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܩܕܫ ܡܠܟܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܠܡܪܝܐ ܥܡ ܟܣܦܐ ܘܕܗܒܐ ܕܢܣܒ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܥܡ̈ܡܐ ܕܟܒܫ ܡܢ ܐܕܘܡ̈ܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܒ̈ܢܝ ܥܡܘܢ ܘܡܢ ܡܘܐ̈ܒܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܦܠܫ̈ܬܝܐ ܘܡܢ ܥܡ̈ܠܝܩܝܐ | 11 these also King David dedicated to the LORD, together with the silver and gold which he had carried off from all the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek. |
| 12 ܘܐܒܝܫܝ ܒܪ ܨܘܪܝܐ ܐܚܘܗܝ ܕܝܘܐܒ ܗܘ ܚܪܒ ܠܐܕܘ̈ܡܝܐ ܒܢܚܠܐ ܕܡܠܚܐ ܬܡܢܬܥܣܪ ܐܠܦ̈ܝܢ ܓܒܪ̈ܝܢ | 12 And Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, slew eighteen thousand Edomites in the Valley of Salt. |
| 13 ܘܐܩܝܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܠ ܐܕܘ̈ܡܝܐ ܫܠܝ̈ܛܐ ܘܗܘܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܕܘ̈ܡܝܐ ܥܒ̣ܕ̈ܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܘܦܪܩ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܒܟܠ ܕܘܟܐ ܕܐܙ̇ܠ ܗܘܐ | 13 And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. And the LORD gave victory to David wherever he went. |
| 14 ܘܐܡܠܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܥܠ ܟܠܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܗܘܐ ܕܘܝܕ ܥ̇ܒܕ ܕܝ̣ܢܐ ܘܙܕܝܩܘܬܐ ܠܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ | 14 So David reigned over all Israel; and he administered justice and equity to all his people. |
| 15 ܘܝܘܐܒ ܒܪ ܨܘܪܝܐ ܫܠܝܛ ܥܠ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܚܝܠܘ̈ܬܐ ܘܝܗܘܫܦܛ ܒܪ ܐܚܝܠܘܕ ܕܡܕܟܪ | 15 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder; |
| 16 ܘܨܕܘܩ ܒܪ ܐܚܝܛܘܒ ܘܐܚܝܡܠܟ ܒܪ ܐܒܝܬܪ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܘܫܪܝܐ ܣ̇ܦܪܐ | 16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; and Shavsha was secretary; |
| 17 ܘܒܢܝܐ ܒܪ ܝܘܝܕܥ ܥܠ ܩܫ̈ܬܐ ܘܥܠ ܩܠܥ̈ܐ ܘܒܢ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܪ̈ܘܪܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ | 17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were the chief officials in the service of the king. |
