Psalms 7

1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini.	1 - Salmo di David, ch'egli cantò al Signore in occasione delle parole di Cusi, beniaminita.
2 O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:	2 Signore, mio Dio, in te spero: salvami da tutti i miei persecutori e liberami.
3 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.	3 Sicchè [il nemico] non rapisca, qual bene, l'anima mia, mentre non c'è chi [mi] strappi [dalle sue zanne], nè chi [mi] salvi.
4 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:	4 Signore, mio Dio, se ho fatto mai questo [di cui m'accusano], se c' è l'iniquità nelle mie mani,
5 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:	5 se male ho reso a chi m'aveva fatto [del bene], ch'io cada pure, dinanzi a' miei nemici, senza speranza.
6 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust.	6 Mi perseguiti il nemicoe [mi] faccia sua preda, e calpesti a terra la mia vita, e la mia gloria getti nella polvere.
7 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,	7 Sorgi, o Signore, nell' ira tua, e grandeggia entro i confini de' miei nemici. Sorgi, Signore mio Dio, decreta il giudizio!
8 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.	8 E l'assemblea de' popoli ti circondi, e sopra lei in alto ascendi.
9 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.	9 Il Signore giudica i popoli! Giudicami, o Signore, secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo l' innocenza mia ch'è in me.
10 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.	10 Cessi la malvagità degli empi, e sorreggi tu il giusto, tu che scruti i cuori e i reni, Iddio
11 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.	11 giusto! Il mio aiuto [vien] dal Signore, che salva i retti di cuore
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?	12 Iddio è giudice giusto, forte e paziente: forsechè ogni giorno egli s'adira?
13 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.	13 Se non vi convertirete, vibrerà la sua spada; ha teso il suo arco e lo tien pronto.
14 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.	14 E su quello ha preparato strumenti di morte: le sue frecce ha reso [dardi] infocati.
15 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.	15 Ecco [il mio nemico] s'affanna a partorir l'ingiustizia: ha concepito sciagura e dà alla luce il peccato!
16 He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.	16 Una fossa egli ha aperto e scavato, e precipita nella fossa ch'egli ha fatto!
17 His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.	17 Ricade la calamità sul suo capo, e sulla sua testa piomba la sua malvagità.
18 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.	18 Io celebrerò il Signore per la sua giustizia, inneggerò al nome del Signore, dell'Altissimo.
