Psalms 7

1 A Psalm of David, which he sang to the Lord because of the words of Cush, the son of Jemini.	1 Siggaion di Davide, il quale egli canto’ al Signore, sopra le parole di Cus Beniaminita SIGNORE Iddio mio, io mi confido in te; Salvami da tutti quelli che mi perseguitano, e riscuotimi;
2 O Lord, my God, in you I have hoped. Save me from all those who persecute me, and free me:	2 Che talora il mio nemico non rapisca l’anima mia come un leone; E non la laceri, senza che vi sia alcuno che mi riscuota.
3 lest at any time, like a lion, he might seize my soul, while there is no one to redeem me, nor any who can save.	3 Signore Iddio mio, se ho fatto questo, Se vi è perversità nelle mie mani;
4 O Lord, my God, if there is iniquity in my hands, if I have done this:	4 Se ho renduto mal per bene a chi viveva in pace meco Io, che ho riscosso colui che mi era nemico senza cagione,
5 if I have repaid those who rendered evils to me, may I deservedly fall away empty before my enemies:	5 Perseguiti pure il nemico l’anima mia, e l’aggiunga, E calpesti la vita mia, mettendola per terra; E stanzi la mia gloria nella polvere. Sela.
6 let the enemy pursue my soul, and take hold of it, and trample my life into the earth, and drag down my glory into the dust.	6 Levati, Signore, nell’ira tua; Innalzati contro a’ furori de’ miei nemici, E destati in mio favore; tu hai ordinato il giudicio.
7 Rise up, Lord, in your anger. And be exalted to the borders of my enemies. And rise up, O Lord my God, according to the precept that you commanded,	7 E circonditi la raunanza de’ popoli; E torna poi in luogo elevato di sopra ad essa.
8 and a congregation of people will surround you. And, because of this, return on high.	8 Il Signore giudicherà i popoli; Signore, giudicami; Giudica di me secondo la mia giustizia, e la mia integrità.
9 The Lord judges the people. Judge me, O Lord, according to my justice and according to my innocence within me.	9 Deh! venga meno la malvagità de’ malvagi, E stabilisci l’uomo giusto; Conciossiachè tu sii l’Iddio giusto, che provi i cuori e le reni
10 The wickedness of sinners will be consumed, and you will direct the just: the examiner of hearts and temperaments is God.	10 Il mio scudo è in Dio, Che salva quelli che son diritti di cuore.
11 Just is my help from the Lord, who saves the upright of heart.	11 Iddio è giusto giudice, E un Dio che si adira ogni giorno.
12 God is a just judge, strong and patient. How could he be angry throughout every day?	12 Se il mio nemico non si converte, egli aguzzerà la sua spada; Già ha teso l’arco suo, e l’ha preparato.
13 Unless you will be converted, he will brandish his sword. He has extended his bow and made it ready.	13 Egli ha apparecchiate arme mortali; Egli adopererà le sue saette contro agli ardenti persecutori.
14 And with it, he has prepared instruments of death. He has produced his arrows for those on fire.	14 Ecco, il mio nemico partorisce iniquità; Egli ha conceputo affanno, e partorirà inganno.
15 Behold him who has given birth to injustice: he has conceived sorrow and has begotten iniquity.	15 Egli ha cavata una fossa, e l’ha affondata; Ma egli stesso è caduto nella fossa ch’egli ha fatta.
16 He has opened a pit and enlarged it. And he has fallen into the hole that he made.	16 Il travaglio ch’egli dà altrui gli ritornerà sopra la testa, E la sua violenza gli scenderà sopra la sommità del capo.
17 His sorrow will be turned upon his own head, and his iniquity will descend upon his highest point.	17 Io loderò il Signore, secondo la sua giustizia; E salmeggerò il Nome del Signore Altissimo
18 I will confess to the Lord according to his justice, and I will sing a psalm to the name of the Lord Most High.
