BIBBIA TINTORI	DOUAI-RHEIMS
1 Ecco che il re regnerà con giustizia, e i principi governeranno con rettitudine.	1 Behold a king shall reign in justice, and princes shell rule in judgment.
2 E ciascuno sarà come al riparo dal vento e nascosto alla tempesta, come ruscello d'acqua nella siccità, come ombra di rupe che s'innalza in arida landa.	2 And a man shall be as when one is hid from the wind, and hideth himself from a storm, as rivers of waters in drought, and the shadow of a rock that standeth out in a desert land.
3 Non saranno più nelle tenebre gli occhi dei veggenti, gli orecchi degli uditori staranno attenti ad ascoltare,	3 The eyes of them that see shall not be dim, and the ears of them that hear shall hearken diligently.
4 e il cuor degli stolti comprenderà la scienza, e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà speditamente e con chiarezza.	4 And the heart of fools shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of stammerers shall speak readily and plain.
5 L'insensato non sarà più chiamato principe, e il fraudolento non sarà chiamato grande.	5 The fool shall no more be called prince: neither shall the deceitful be called great:
6 Certo lo stolto parlerà di fatuità, il suo cuore si darà all'iniquità, per compire l'ipocrisia e parlar con doppiezza del Signore, e render vuota la persona dell'affamato e togliere la bevanda a chi ha sete.	6 For the fool will speak foolish things, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and speak to the Lord deceitfully, and to make empty the soul of the hungry, and take away drink from the thirsty.
7 Gli strumenti del fraudolento son crudeli: infatti egli ordisce degli intrighi per rovinare con menzognere parole i mansueti, mentre il povero parla di giustizia.	7 The vessels of the deceitful are most wicked: for he hath framed devices to destroy the meek, with lying words, when the poor man speaketh judgment.
8 Ma il principe penserà cose degne di un principe, e starà al di sopra dei capi.	8 But the prince will devise such things as are worthy of a prince, and he shah stand above the rulers.
9 Donne ricche, alzatevi — Statemi a sentire, figlie spensierate — State attente al mio discorso.	9 Rise up, ye rich women, and hear my voice: ye confident daughters, give ear to my speech.
10 Fra un anno e qualche giorno — Voi tremerete, o spensierate; chè, finita la vendemmia — Non vi sarà più da raspollare.	10 For after days and a year, you that are confident shall be troubled: for the vintage is at an end, the gathering shall come no more.
11 Restate piene di stupore, o ricche — Tremate, o spensierate; spogliatevi, state piene di vergogna, cingetevi i fianchi.	11 Be astonished, ye rich women, be troubled, ye confident ones: strip yen, and be confounded, gird your loins.
12 Piangete il petto che allatta. — Il bel paese, la fertile vigna.	12 Mourn for your breasts, for the delightful country, for the fruitful vineyard.
13 Sulla terra del mio popolo — Saliranno le spine e i rovi quanto più sopra le case felici — Della città esultante?	13 Upon the land of my people shall thorns and briers come up: how much more upon all the houses of joy, of the city that rejoiced?
14 La casa è abbandonata — La città piena di gente è derelitta, palpabili tenebre — Coprono le spelonche in eterno, sollazzo degli onagri — Pascolo dei greggi.	14 For the house is forsaken, the multitude of the city is left, darkness and obscurity are come upon its dens for ever. A joy of wild asses, the pastures of docks,
15 Fino a quando non si spanda sopra di noi lo spirito dall'alto, e il deserto diventi un Carmelo, e il Carmelo una foresta.	15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high: and the desert shall be se a charmel, and charmel shall be counted for a forest.
16 E il diritto abiterà nel deserto, e la giustizia si stabilirà sul Carmelo,	16 And judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and justice shall sit in charmel.
17 e opera della giustizia sarà la pace, e frutto della giustizia sarà la tranquillità, la sicurezza in sempiterno.	17 And the work of justice shall be peace, and the service of justice quietness, and security for ever.
18 E il mio popolo si riposerà nella bellezza della pace, nelle case sicure, nella quiete doviziosa.	18 And my people shall sit in the beauty of peace, and in the tabernacles of confidence, and in wealthy rest.
19 Ma la grandine piomberà sulla foresta, e la città sarà oltremodo umi liata.	19 But hail shall be in the descent of the forest, and the city shall be made very low.
20 Beati voi che seminate sopra tutte le acque, e lasciate libero il piede del bove e dell'asino.	20 Blessed are ye that sow upon all waters, sending thither the foot of the ox and the ass.
