1 Questa è la discendenza dei figli di Noè: Sem, Cam e Iafet, ai quali nacquero dei figli, dopo il diluvio.	1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, to whom sons were born after the flood.
2 I figli di Iafet: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Iavan, Tubal, Mesech e Tiras.	2 The descendants of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
3 I figli di Gomer: Askenaz, Rifat e Togarma.	3 The descendants of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
4 I figli di Iavan: Elisa, Tarsis, quelli di Cipro e quelli di Rodi.	4 The descendants of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, and the Rodanim.
5 Da costoro si suddivisero le popolazioni delle isole delle genti. Questi furono i figli di Iafet nei loro territori, ciascuno secondo la sua lingua, secondo le loro famiglie, nelle loro diverse nazioni.	5 These are the descendants of Japheth, and from them sprang the maritime nations, in their respective lands--each with its own language--by their clans within their nations.
6 I figli di Cam: Etiopia, Egitto, Put e Canaan.	6 The descendants of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
7 I figli di Etiopia: Seba, Avila, Sabta, Raama e Sàbteca. I figli di Raama: Saba e Dedan.	7 The descendants of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The descendants of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10 Il nucleo del suo regno fu Babele, Uruch, Accad e Calne nella terra di Sennaar.	10 The chief cities of his kingdom were Babylon, Erech, and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.
11 Di lì uscì in Assur e costruì Ninive, le piazze della città, Calach	11 From that land he went forth to Asshur, where he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah,
12 e Resen, tra Ninive e Calach; quella è la grande città.	12 as well as Resen, between Nineveh and Calah, the latter being the principal city.

19 Cosicché il confine dei Cananei fu da Sidone fino a Gerara e Gaza, poi fino a Sòdoma, Gomorra, Adma e Zeboim, fino a Lesa.	19 so that the Canaanite borders extended from Sidon all the way to Gerar, near Gaza, and all the way to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, near Lasha.
20 Questi furono i figli di Cam secondo le loro famiglie e le loro lingue, nei loro territori e nelle loro diverse nazioni.	20 These are the descendants of Ham, according to their clans and languages, by their lands and nations.
21 Anche a Sem, l'antenato di tutti i figli di Eber, fratello maggiore di Iafet, nacque una discendenza.	21 To Shem also, Japheth's oldest brother and the ancestor of all the children of Eber, sons were born.
22 Figli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arpacsàd, Lud, Aram.	22 The descendants of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
23 Figli di Aram: Uz, Cul, Gheter e Mas.	23 The descendants of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
24 Arpacsàd generò Selach e Selach generò Eber.	24 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.
25 A Eber nacquero due figli: uno fu chiamato Peleg, perché ai suoi tempi fu divisa la terra, e suo fratello fu chiamato Ioktan.	25 To Eber two sons were born: the name of the first was Peleg, for in his time the world was divided; and the name of his brother was Joktan.
26 Ioktan generò Almodàd, Selef, Asarmàvet, Ierach,	26 Joktan became the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,
27 Adòram, Uzal, Dikla,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,
28 Obal, Abimaèl, Seba,	28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba,
29 Ofir, Avila e Iobab. Tutti questi furono figli di Ioktan.	29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were descendants of Joktan.
30 La loro abitazione fu da Mesa fin verso Sefar, monte dell'oriente.	30 Their settlements extended all the way to Sephar, the eastern hill country.
31 Questi furono i figli di Sem secondo le loro famiglie e le loro lingue, nei loro territori, secondo le loro nazioni.	31 These are the descendants of Shem, according to their clans and languages by their lands and nations.

From these the other nations of the earth branched out after the flood.
