1 Parola del Signore rivolta a Sofonìa figlio dell'Etiope, figlio di Godolia, figlio di Amaria, figlio di Ezechia, al tempo di Giosia figlio di Amon, re di Giuda.	1 The word of Yahweh which was addressed to Zephaniah son of Cushi, son of Gedaliah, son ofAmariah, son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah.
2 Tutto farò sparire dalla terra. Oracolo del Signore.	2 I shall sweep away everything off the face of the earth, declares Yahweh.
3 Distruggerò uomini e bestie; sterminerò gli uccelli del cielo e i pesci del mare, abbatterò gli empi; sterminerò l'uomo dalla terra. Oracolo del Signore.	3 I shall sweep away humans and animals, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, I shal topple thewicked and wipe al people off the face of the earth -declares Yahweh.
4 Stenderò la mano su Giuda e su tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme; sterminerò da questo luogo gli avanzi di Baal e il nome stesso dei suoi falsi sacerdoti;	4 I shall raise my hand against Judah and against al who live in Jerusalem, and from this place I wil wipeout Baal's remnant, the very name of his priests,

18 Neppure il loro argento, neppure il loro oro potranno salvarli". Nel giorno dell'ira del Signore e al fuoco della sua gelosia tutta la terra sarà consumata, poiché farà improvvisa distruzione di tutti gli abitanti della terra.	18 nor wil their silver or gold be able to save them.
