1 C'est pourquoi moi, Paul, prisonnier du Christ à cause de vous, païens...	1 By reason of this grace, I, Paul, am a prisoner of Jesus Christ, for the sake of you Gentiles.
2 Car vous avez appris, je pense, comment Dieu m'a dispensé la grâce qu'il m'a confiée pour vous,	2 Now certainly, you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God, which has been given to me among you:
3 m'accordant par révélation la connaissance du Mystère, tel que je viens de l'exposer en peu demots:	3 that, by means of revelation, the mystery was made known to me, just as I have written above in a few words.
4 à me lire, vous pouvez vous rendre compte de l'intelligence que j'ai du Mystère du Christ.	4 Yet, by reading this closely, you might be able to understand my prudence in the mystery of Christ.
5 Ce Mystère n'avait pas été communiqué aux hommes des temps passés comme il vient d'êtrerévélé maintenant à ses saints apôtres et prophètes, dans l'Esprit:	5 In other generations, this was unknown to the sons of men, even as it has now been revealed to his holy Apostles and Prophets in the Spirit,
6 les païens sont admis au même héritage, membres du même Corps, bénéficiaires de la mêmePromesse, dans le Christ Jésus, par le moyen de l'Evangile.	6 so that the Gentiles would be co-heirs, and of the same body, and partners together, by his promise in Christ Jesus, through the Gospel.
7 Et de cet Evangile je suis devenu ministre par le don de la grâce que Dieu m'a confiée en ydéployant sa puissance:	7 Of this Gospel, I have been made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God, which has been given to me by means of the operation of his virtue.
8 à moi, le moindre de tous les saints, a été confiée cette grâce-là, d'annoncer aux païensl'insondable richesse du Christ	8 Although I am the least of all the saints, I have been given this grace: to evangelize among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,
9 et de mettre en pleine lumière la dispensation du Mystère: il a été tenu caché depuis les siècles enDieu, le Créateur de toutes choses,	9 and to enlighten everyone concerning the dispensation of the mystery, hidden before the ages in God who created all things,
10 pour que les Principautés et les Puissances célestes aient maintenant connaissance, par le moyende l'Eglise, de la sagesse infinie en ressources déployée par Dieu	10 so that the manifold wisdom of God may become well-known to the principalities and powers in the heavens, through the Church,
11 en ce dessein éternel qu'il a conçu dans le Christ Jésus notre Seigneur,	11 according to that timeless purpose, which he has formed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
12 et qui nous donne d'oser nous approcher en toute confiance par le chemin de la foi au Christ.	12 In him we trust, and so we approach with confidence, through his faith.
13 Ainsi, je vous en prie, ne vous laissez pas abattre par les épreuves que j'endure pour vous; ellessont votre gloire!	13 Because of this, I ask you not to be weakened by my tribulations on your behalf; for this is your glory.
14 C'est pourquoi je fléchis les genoux en présence du Père	14 By reason of this grace, I bend my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 de qui toute paternité, au ciel et sur la terre, tire son nom.	15 from whom all paternity in heaven and on earth takes its name.
16 Qu'Il daigne, selon la richesse de sa gloire, vous armer de puissance par son Esprit pour que sefortifie en vous l'homme intérieur,	16 And I ask him to grant to you to be strengthened in virtue by his Spirit, in accord with the wealth of his glory, in the inner man,
17 que le Christ habite en vos coeurs par la foi, et que vous soyez enracinés, fondés dans l'amour.	17 so that Christ may live in your hearts through a faith rooted in, and founded on, charity.
18 Ainsi vous recevrez la force de comprendre, avec tous les saints, ce qu'est la Largeur, laLongueur, la Hauteur et la Profondeur,	18 So may you be able to embrace, with all the saints, what is the width and length and height and depth
19 vous connaîtrez l'amour du Christ qui surpasse toute connaissance, et vous entrerez par votreplénitude dans toute la Plénitude de Dieu.	19 of the charity of Christ, and even be able to know that which surpasses all knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 A Celui dont la puissance agissant en nous est capable de faire bien au-delà, infiniment au-delàde tout ce que nous pouvons demander ou concevoir,	20 Now to him who is able to do all things, more abundantly than we could ever ask or understand, by means of the virtue which is at work in us:
21 à Lui la gloire, dans l'Eglise et le Christ Jésus, pour tous les âges et tous les siècles! Amen.	21 to him be glory, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, throughout every generation, forever and ever. Amen.
