1 Al Director. Poema de David.	1 Unto the end. For Mahalath: the thoughts of David. The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”
2 Cuando Doeg, el edomita, comunicó a Saúl: «David se ha ido a la casa de Ajimélec».	2 They were corrupted, and they became abominable with iniquities. There is no one who does good.
3 ¿Por qué te glorías de la maldad | y te haces fuerte en el delito?	3 God gazed down from heaven on the sons of men, to see if there were any who were considering or seeking God.
4 Estás todo el día maquinando injusticias, | tu lengua es navaja afilada, | autor de fraudes;	4 All have gone astray; together they have become useless. There is no one who does good; there is not even one.
5 prefieres el mal al bien, | la mentira a la honradez; (Pausa)	5 Will they never learn: all those who work iniquity, who devour my people like a meal of bread?
6 prefieres las palabras corrosivas, | lengua embustera.	6 They have not called upon God. In that place, they have trembled in fear, where there was no fear. For God has scattered the bones of those who please men. They have been confounded, because God has spurned them.
7 Pues Dios te destruirá para siempre, | te abatirá y te barrerá de tu tienda; | arrancará tus raíces del suelo vital. (Pausa)	7 Who will grant from Zion the salvation of Israel? Jacob will exult, when God will convert the captivity of his people; and Israel will rejoice.
8 Lo verán los justos, y temerán, | y se reirán de él:
9 «Mirad al valiente | que no puso en Dios su apoyo, | confió en sus muchas riquezas, | se insolentó en sus crímenes».
10 Pero yo, como verde olivo, | en la casa de Dios, | confío en la misericordia de Dios | por siempre jamás.
11 Te daré siempre gracias | porque has actuado; | proclamaré delante de tus fieles: | «Tu nombre es bueno».
