Apocalipsis de Juan 13

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Y vi surgir del mar una Bestia que tenía diez cuernos y siete cabezas, y en sus cuernos diez diademas, y en sus cabezas títulos blasfemos.	1 Then I saw a beast emerge from the sea: it had seven heads and ten horns, with a coronet on each ofits ten horns, and its heads were marked with blasphemous titles.
2 La Bestia que vi se parecía a un leopardo, con las patas como de oso, y las fauces como fauces de león: y el Dragón le dio su poder y su trono y gran poderío.	2 I saw that the beast was like a leopard, with paws like a bear and a mouth like a lion; the dragon hadhanded over to it his own power and his throne and his immense authority.
3 Una de sus cabezas parecía herida de muerte, pero su llaga mortal se le curó; entonces la tierra entera siguió maravillada a la Bestia.	3 I saw that one of its heads seemed to have had a fatal wound but that this deadly injury had healedand the whole world had marvel ed and fol owed the beast.
4 Y se postraron ante el Dragón, porque había dado el poderío a la Bestia , y se postraron ante la Bestia diciendo: «¿Quién como la Bestia? ¿Y quién puede luchar contra ella?»	4 They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; andthey prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying, 'Who can compare with the beast? Who can fightagainst it?'
5 Le fue dada una boca que profería grandezas y blasfemias, y se le dio poder de actuar durante 42 meses;	5 The beast was allowed to mouth its boasts and blasphemies and to be active for forty-two months;
6 y ella abrió su boca para blasfemar contra Dios: para blasfemar de su nombre y de su morada y de los que moran en el cielo.	6 and it mouthed its blasphemies against God, against his name, his heavenly Tent and al those whoare sheltered there.
7 Se le concedió hacer la guerra a los santos y vencerlos; se le concedió poderío sobre toda raza, pueblo, lengua y nación.	7 It was allowed to make war against the saints and conquer them, and given power over every race,people, language and nation;
8 Y la adorarán todos los habitantes de la tierra cuyo nombre no está inscrito, desde la creación del mundo, en el libro de la vida del Cordero degollado.	8 and al people of the world wil worship it, that is, everybody whose name has not been written downsince the foundation of the world in the sacrificial Lamb's book of life.
9 El que tenga oídos, oiga.	9 Let anyone who can hear, listen:
10 «El que a la cárcel, a la cárcel ha de ir; el que ha de morir a espada, a espada ha de morir». Aquí se requiere la paciencia y la fe de los santos.	10 Those for captivity to captivity; those for death by the sword to death by the sword. This is why thesaints must have perseverance and faith.
11 Vi luego otra Bestia que surgía de la tierra y tenía dos cuernos como de cordero, pero hablaba como una serpiente.	11 Then I saw a second beast, emerging from the ground; it had two horns like a lamb, but made anoise like a dragon.
12 Ejerce todo el poder de la primera Bestia en servicio de ésta, haciendo que la tierra y sus habitantes adoren a la primera Bestia, cuya herida mortal había sido curada.	12 This second beast exercised al the power of the first beast, on its behalf making the world and al itspeople worship the first beast, whose deadly injury had healed.
13 Realiza grandes señales, hasta hacer bajar ante la gente fuego del cielo a la tierra;	13 And it worked great miracles, even to calling down fire from heaven onto the earth while peoplewatched.
14 y seduce a los habitantes de la tierra con las señales que le ha sido concedido obrar al servicio de la Bestia, diciendo a los habitantes de la tierra que hagan una imagen en honor de la Bestia que, teniendo la herida de la espada, revivió.	14 Through the miracles which it was al owed to do on behalf of the first beast, it was able to lead astraythe people of the world and persuade them to put up a statue in honour of the beast that had been wounded bythe sword and stil lived.
15 Se le concedió infundir el aliento a la imagen de la Bestia, de suerte que pudiera incluso hablar la imagen de la Bestia y hacer que fueran exterminados cuantos no adoraran la imagen de la Bestia.	15 It was al owed to breathe life into this statue, so that the statue of the beast was able to speak, and tohave anyone who refused to worship the statue of the beast put to death.
16 Y hace que todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se hagan una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente,	16 It compel ed everyone -- smal and great alike, rich and poor, slave and citizen -- to be branded onthe right hand or on the forehead,
17 y que nadie pueda comprar nada ni vender, sino el que lleve la marca con el nombre de la Bestia o con la cifra de su nombre.	17 and made it il egal for anyone to buy or sell anything unless he had been branded with the name ofthe beast or with the number of its name.
18 ¡Aquí está la sabiduría! Que el inteligente calcule la cifra de la Bestia; pues es la cifra de un hombre. Su cifra es 666.	18 There is need for shrewdness here: anyone clever may interpret the number of the beast: it is thenumber of a human being, the number 666.
