1 Y pregunto yo: ¿Es que ha rechazado Dios a su pueblo? ¡De ningún modo! ¡Que también yo soy israelita, del linaje de Abraham, de la tribu de Benjamín!	1 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see: and bow down their back always.
2 Dios no ha rechazado a su pueblo, en quien de antemano puso sus ojos. ¿O es que ignoráis lo que dice la Escritura acerca de Elías, cómo se queja ante Dios contra Israel?	2 dummy verses inserted by amos
3 ¡Señor!, han dado muerte a tus profetas; han derribado tus altares; y he quedado yo solo y acechan contra mi vida.	3 dummy verses inserted by amos

5 Pues bien, del mismo modo, también en el tiempo presente subsiste un resto elegido por gracia.	5 dummy verses inserted by amos
6 Y, si es por gracia, ya no lo es por las obras; de otro modo, la gracia no sería ya gracia.	6 dummy verses inserted by amos
7 Entonces, ¿qué? Que Israel no consiguió lo que buscaba; mientras lo consiguieron los elegidos. Los demás se endurecieron,	7 dummy verses inserted by amos
8 como dice la Escritura: Dioles Dios un esp1ritu de embotamiento: ojos para no ver y oídos para no oír, hasta el día de hoy.	8 dummy verses inserted by amos

10 oscurézcanse sus ojos para no ver; agobia sus espaldas sin cesar.	10 dummy verses inserted by amos
11 Y pregunto yo: ¿Es que han tropezado para quedar caídos? ¡De ningún modo! Sino que su caída ha traído la salvación a los gentiles, para llenarlos de celos.	11 I say then, have they so stumbled, that they should fall? God forbid. But by their offence, salvation is come to the Gentiles, that they may be emulous of them.
12 Y, si su caída ha sido una riqueza para el mundo, y su mengua, riqueza para los gentiles ¡qué no será su plenitud!	12 Now if the offence of them be the riches of the world, and the diminution of them, the riches of the Gentiles; how much more the fulness of them?
13 Os digo, pues, a vosotros, los gentiles: Por ser yo verdaderamente apóstol de los gentiles, hago honor a mi ministerio,	13 For I say to you, Gentiles: as long indeed as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I will honour my ministry,
14 pero es con la esperanza de despertar celos en los de mi raza y salvar a alguno de ellos.	14 If, by any means, I may provoke to emulation them who are my flesh, and may save some of them.
15 Porque si su reprobación ha sido la reconciliación del mundo ¿qué será su readmisión sino una resurrección de entre los muertos?	15 For if the loss of them be the reconciliation of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
16 Y si las primicias son santas, también la masa; y si la raíz es santa también las ramas.	16 For if the firstfruit be holy, so is the lump also: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.
17 Que si algunas ramas fueron desgajadas, mientras tú - olivo silvestre - fuiste injertado entre ellas, hecho participe con ellas de la raíz y de la savia del olivo,	17 And if some of the branches be broken, and thou, being a wild olive, art ingrafted in them, and art made partaker of the root, and of the fatness of the olive tree,
18 no te engrías contra las ramas. Y si te engríes, sábete que no eres tú quien sostiene la raíz, sino la raíz que te sostiene.	18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.
19 Pero dirás: Las ramas fueron desgajadas para que yo fuera injertado.	19 Thou wilt say then: The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
20 ¡Muy bien! Por su incredulidad fueron desgajadas, mientras tú, por la fe te mantienes. ¡No te engrías!; más bien, teme.	20 Well: because of unbelief they were broken off. But thou standest by faith: be not highminded, but fear.
21 Que si Dios no perdonó a las ramas naturales, no sea que tampoco a ti te perdone.	21 For if God hath not spared the natural branches, fear lest perhaps he also spare not thee.
22 Así pues, considera la bondad y la severidad de Dios: severidad con los que cayeron, bondad contigo, si es que te mantienes en la bondad; que si no, también tú serás desgajado.	22 See then the goodness and the severity of God: towards them indeed that are fallen, the severity; but towards thee, the goodness of God, if thou abide in goodness, otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.
23 En cuanto a ellos, si no se obstinan en la incredulidad, serán injertados; que poderoso es Dios para injertarlos de nuevo.	23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
24 Porque si tú fuiste cortado del olivo silvestre que eras por naturaleza, para ser injertado contra tu natural en un olivo cultivado, ¡con cuánta más razón ellos, según su naturaleza, serán injertados en su propio olivo!	24 For if thou wert cut out of the wild olive tree, which is natural to thee; and, contrary to nature, were grafted into the good olive tree; how much more shall they that are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
25 Pues no quiero que ignoréis, hermanos, este misterio, no sea que presumáis de sabios: el endurecimiento parcial que sobrevino a Israel durará hasta que entre la totalidad de los gentiles,	25 For I would not have you ignorant, brethren, of this mystery, (lest you should be wise in your own conceits), that blindness in part has happened in Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles should come in.
26 y así, todo Israel será salvo, como dice la Escritura: Vendrá de Sión el Libertador; alejará de Jacob las impiedades.	26 And so all Israel should be saved, as it is written: There shall come out of Sion, he that shall deliver, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob.
27 Y esta será mi Alianza con ellos, cuando haya borrado sus pecados.	27 And this is to them my covenant: when I shall take away their sins.
28 En cuanto al Evangelio, son enemigos para vuestro bien; pero en cuanto a la elección amados en atención a sus padres.	28 As concerning the gospel, indeed, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election, they are most dear for the sake of the fathers.
29 Que los dones y la vocación de Dios son irrevocables.	29 For the gifts and the calling of God are without repentance.
30 En efecto, así como vosotros fuisteis en otro tiempo rebeldes contra Dios, mas al presente habéis conseguido misericordia a causa de su rebeldía,	30 For as you also in times past did not believe God, but now have obtained mercy, through their unbelief;
31 así también, ellos al presente se han rebelado con ocasión de la misericordia otorgada a vosotros, a fin de que también ellos consigan ahora misericordia.	31 So these also now have not believed, for your mercy, that they also may obtain mercy.
32 Pues Dios encerró a todos los hombres en la rebeldía para usar con todos ellos de misericordia.	32 For God hath concluded all in unbelief, that he may have mercy on all.
33 ¡Oh abismo de la riqueza, de la sabiduría y de la ciencia de Dios! ¡Cuán insondables son sus designios e inescrutables sus caminos!	33 O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments, and how unsearchable his ways!
34 En efecto, ¿quién conoció el pensamiento de Señor? O ¿quién fue su consejero? O ¿quién le dio primero que tenga derecho a la recompensa?	34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been his counsellor?
35 Porque de él, por él y para él son todas las cosas. ¡A él la gloria por los siglos! Amén.	35 Or who hath first given to him, and recompense shall be made him?
	36 For of him, and by him, and in him, are all things: to him be glory for ever. Amen.
