| 1 Fue dirigida la palabra de Yahveh en estos términos: | 1 And the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, |
| 2 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Con gran celo he celado a Sión, con gran ira la he celado. | 2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath. |
| 3 Así dice Yahveh: Me he vuelto a Sión, y en medio de Jerusalén habito. Jerusalén se llamará Ciudad-de-Fidelidad, y el monte de Yahveh Sebaot, Monte-de-Santidad. | 3 Thus says the LORD: I will return to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD of hosts, the holy mountain. |
| 4 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Aún se sentarán viejos y viejas en las plazas de Jerusalén, cada cual con su bastón en la mano, por ser muchos sus días; | 4 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand for very age. |
| 5 las plazas de la ciudad se llenarán de muchachos y muchachas en sus plazas jugando. | 5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. |
| 6 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Si ello parece imposible a los ojos del Resto de este pueblo, en aquellos días, ¿también a mis ojos va a ser imposible?, oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot. | 6 Thus says the LORD of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, says the LORD of hosts? |
| 7 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: He aquí que yo salvo a mi pueblo del país del oriente y del país donde se pone el sol; | 7 Thus says the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country; |
| 8 voy a traerlos para que moren en medio de Jerusalén. Y serán mi pueblo y yo seré su Dios con fidelidad y con justicia. | 8 and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and they shall be my people and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness." |
| 9 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Reafírmense vuestras manos, vosotros que oís en estos días esas palabras de la boca de los profetas, desde el día en que se echaron los cimientos de la Casa de Yahveh Sebaot, para la reconstrucción del Templo. | 9 Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets, since the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. |
| 10 Porque hasta estos días no había paga para los hombres ni paga para el ganado; paz ninguna había, a causa del enemigo, para el que salía y entraba, y yo había dado rienda suelta a todos los hombres unos contra otros. | 10 For before those days there was no wage for man or any wage for beast, neither was there any safety from the foe for him who went out or came in; for I set every man against his fellow. |
| 11 Pero ahora ya no soy yo para el Resto de este pueblo como en días pasados, oráculo de Yahveh Sebaot. | 11 But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days, says the LORD of hosts. |
| 12 Porque hay simiente de paz: la vid dará su fruto, la tierra dará su producto y los cielos darán su rocío; yo daré en posesión al Resto de este pueblo todas estas cosas. | 12 For there shall be a sowing of peace; the vine shall yield its fruit, and the ground shall give its increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. |
| 13 Y sucederá que así como habéis sido maldición entre las naciones, casa de Judá y casa de Israel, así os salvaré yo, y seréis bendición; ¡no tengáis miedo, y que se reafirmen vuestras manos! | 13 And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong." |
| 14 Pues así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Como yo había decidido haceros mal, cuando me irritaron vuestros padres - dice Yahveh Sebaot - y no me arrepentí de ello, | 14 For thus says the LORD of hosts: "As I purposed to do evil to you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the LORD of hosts, |
| 15 así en cambio he decidido en estos días hacer bien a Jerusalén y a la casa de Judá: ¡no temáis! | 15 so again have I purposed in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not. |
| 16 He aquí las cosas que debéis hacer: Decid verdad unos a otros; juicio de paz juzgad en vuestras puertas; | 16 These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another, render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace, |
| 17 mal unos contra otros no meditéis en vuestro corazón, y juramento falso no améis, porque todas estas cosas las odio yo, oráculo de Yahveh. | 17 do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, says the LORD." |
| 18 La palabra de Yahveh me fue dirigida en estos términos: | 18 And the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying, |
| 19 «Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: El ayuno del cuarto mes, el ayuno del quinto, el ayuno del séptimo y el ayuno del décimo se convertirán para la casa de Judá en regocijo, alegría y faustas solemnidades. Amad, pues, la verdad y la paz». | 19 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: The fast of the fourth month, and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love truth and peace. |
| 20 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: Todavía habrá pueblos que vengan, y habitantes de grandes ciudades. | 20 "Thus says the LORD of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities; |
| 21 Y los habitantes de una ciudad irán a la otra diciendo: «Ea, vamos a ablandar el rostro de Yahveh y a buscar a Yahveh Sebaot: ¡yo también voy!» | 21 the inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts; I am going.' |
| 22 Y vendrán pueblos numerosos y naciones poderosas a buscar a Yahveh Sebaot en Jerusalén, y a ablandar el rostro de Yahveh. | 22 Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of the LORD. |
| 23 Así dice Yahveh Sebaot: En aquellos días, diez hombres de todas las lenguas de las naciones asirán por la orla del manto a un judío diciendo: «Queremos ir con vosotros, porque hemos oído decir que Dios está con vosotros». | 23 Thus says the LORD of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'" |
