BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Si alguien peca en uno de estos casos: Uno ha oído la fórmula conjuratoria, y es testigo, porque lo ha visto u oído, y no lo declara y se carga así con su iniquidad;	1 ' "If someone sins in any of these fol owing cases: "He should have come forward to give evidence whenhe heard the formal adjuration, having seen the incident or known the facts; but he has not spoken out, and sobears the consequences of his guilt;
2 o bien, uno toca cualquier cosa impura, sea el cadáver de una fiera impura, o el de ganado impuro o el de un bicho impuro, y, aun sin darse cuenta, se hace así él mismo impuro y culpable;	2 "or someone touches something unclean, whatever it may be -- the dead body of an unclean animal,wild or tame, or of one of the unclean reptiles -- and without realising it becomes unclean, he becomesanswerable for it;
3 o bien, uno toca cualquiera de las inmundicias humanas con que puede contaminarse, sin darse cuenta; y, saberlo, se hace culpable;	3 "or he touches some human uncleanness, whatever it may be, contact with which makes him unclean;he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
4 o bien, uno pronuncia con los labios sin darse cuenta un juramento favorable o desfavorable, en cualquiera de las cosas que el hombre suele jurar y, al saberlo, se hace culpable de ello;	4 "or someone lets slip an oath to do something either evil or good, in any of those matters on whichsomeone may let slip an oath; he does not notice it, then, realising it later, he becomes answerable for it;
5 el que es culpable en uno de estos casos confesará aquello en que ha pecado,	5 "if he is answerable in any of those cases, he wil have to confess the sin committed.
6 y como sacrificio de reparación por el pecado cometido, llevará a Yahveh una hembra de ganado menor, oveja o cabra, como sacrificio por el pecado. Y el sacerdote hará por él expiación de su pecado.	6 As a sacrifice of reparation for the sin committed, he wil bring Yahweh a female from the flock (sheep orgoat) as a sacrifice for sin; and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him to free him from his sin.
7 Cuando sus recursos no alcancen para una res menor, presentará a Yahveh, como sacrificio de reparación por su pecado, dos tórtolas o dos pichones, uno como sacrificio por el pecado y otro en holocausto.	7 "If he cannot afford an animal from the flock as a sacrifice of reparation for the sin he has committed, hewil bring Yahweh two turtledoves or two young pigeons -- one as a sacrifice for sin and the other as a burntoffering.
8 Los llevará al sacerdote, quien ofrecerá primero el que se destina al sacrificio por el pecado. Con las uñas descervigará la cabeza junto a la nuca sin arrancarla.	8 He wil bring them to the priest who wil first offer the one intended for the sacrifice for sin. The priest wilwring its neck but not remove the head.
9 Rociará con sangre de la víctima el lateral del altar, y el resto de la sangre será exprimida al pie del altar. Es un sacrificio por el pecado.	9 He wil sprinkle the side of the altar with the victim's blood, and then squeeze out the rest of the blood atthe foot of the altar. This is a sacrifice for sin.
10 Con el segundo hará un holocausto, conforme a la norma. El sacerdote le hará así expiación por el pecado cometido y le será perdonado.	10 He will then offer the other bird as a burnt offering according to the ritual. This is how the priest mustperform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed, and he will be forgiven.
11 Si no le alcanza para dos tórtolas o dos pichones, presentará, como ofrenda suya por haber pecado, una décima de medida de flor de harina como sacrificio por el pecado. No añadirá aceite, ni echará sobre ella incienso, porque es sacrificio por el pecado.	11 "If he cannot afford two turtledoves or two young pigeons, he will bring a tenth of an ephah of wheatenflour as an offering for the sin committed; he must not mix oil with it or put incense on it, since this is a sacrificefor sin.
12 La llevará al sacerdote; y el sacerdote, tomando de ella un puñado como memorial, lo quemará en el altar, junto con los manjares que se abrasan para Yahveh. Es un sacrificio por el pecado.	12 He will bring it to the priest, who wil take a handful of it as a memorial, and burn this on the altar inaddition to the offerings of food burnt for Yahweh. This is a sacrifice for sin.
13 El sacerdote hará expiación por él, a causa del pecado que cometió en cualquiera de aquellos casos, y se le perdonará. El sacerdote tendrá su parte como en la oblación.	13 This is how the priest must perform the rite of expiation for the person for the sin he has committed inany of those cases, and he wil be forgiven. In this case, the priest has the same rights as in the case of a cerealoffering." '
14 Habló Yahveh a Moisés, diciendo:	14 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
15 Si alguien comete una prevaricación pecando por inadvertencia contra los derechos sagrados de Yahveh, ofrecerá a Yahveh, como sacrificio de reparación, un carnero del rebaño, sin defecto, valorado en siclos de plata, en siclos del Santuario, como sacrificio de reparación.	15 'If someone is unfaithful and sins inadvertently by infringing Yahweh's sacred rights, as a sacrifice ofreparation he must bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock, the value of which wil be decided by youin silver shekels according to the rate of the sanctuary-shekel.
16 Resarcirá lo que defraudó pecando contra los derechos sagrados, y añadirá un quinto más, y se lo dará al sacerdote. El sacerdote hará por él la expiación con el carnero del sacrificio de reparación; y se le perdonará.	16 He will make amends for what his sin subtracted from the sacred rights, adding one-fifth to the value,and give it to the priest. The priest wil then perform the rite of expiation for him with the ram for the sacrifice ofreparation and he wil be forgiven.
17 Si alguien peca sin darse cuenta, haciendo algo prohibido por los mandamientos de Yahveh, se hace culpable y cargará con su iniquidad.	17 'If someone sins and without realising it does one of the things forbidden by Yahweh'scommandments, he will answer for it and bear the consequences of his guilt.
18 Llevará al sacerdote, como sacrificio de reparación, un carnero del rebaño, sin defecto, según su valoración; y el sacerdote hará expiación por él a causa del error que cometió sin darse cuenta, y se le perdonará.	18 As a sacrifice of reparation he must bring the priest an unblemished ram from his flock to the valuewhich you decide, and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him for the oversight unwittingly committed,and he wil be forgiven.
19 Es un sacrificio de reparación, pues era ciertamente culpable ante Yahveh.	19 This is a sacrifice of reparation; the man was certainly answerable to Yahweh.'
20 Habló Yahveh a Moisés, diciendo:	20 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:
21 Si uno peca y comete una prevaricación contra Yahveh engañando a su prójimo acerca de un depósito o de un objeto confiado a sus manos, o de algo robado, o bien oprimiendo a su prójimo violentamente,	21 'If someone sins and is unfaithful against Yahweh by deceiving his fel ow-countryman over a deposit ora security, or by withholding something due to him or by exploiting him;
22 o si halla un objeto perdido y lo niega, o jura en falso acerca de cualquiera de las cosas en que el hombre suele pecar;	22 'or if he finds lost property and denies it; 'or if he perjures himself about anything that a human beingmay do criminal y in such matters;
23 cuando así peca, haciéndose culpable, devolverá lo robado, o lo exigido con violencia, o el depósito que se le confió, o la cosa perdida que halló,	23 'if he sins and so becomes answerable, he must restore what he has taken or demanded in excess:the deposit confided to him, the lost property that he has found,
24 o todo aquello sobre lo cual juró en falso. Lo restituirá íntegramente, añadiendo un quinto más, y lo devolverá a quien lo poseía en el día en que se hizo culpable.	24 or any object about which he has perjured himself. He will add one-fifth to the principal and pay thewhole to the person who held the property rights on the day when he incurred the guilt.
25 Entregará para Yahveh su sacrificio de reparación: un carnero del rebaño, sin defecto, según su valoración, como sacrificio de reparación ante el sacerdote.	25 He will then bring Yahweh an unblemished ram from his flock to the value which you decide, to thepriest as a sacrifice of reparation,
26 El sacerdote hará por él la expiación delante de Yahveh, y será perdonado en cualquiera de los casos en que fuera culpable.	26 and the priest wil perform the rite of expiation for him before Yahweh and he will be forgiven, whateverthe act by which he incurred guilt.'
